Hollywood Producer... New Breed of Super Mogul

Producer of our time Lone Survivor, End of Watch, Rambo, Heist, 2 Guns, Bad Lieutenant, 88 Minutes are just few of Randall Emmett movies that he produced. Meeting Randall was one of our amazing experiences that we had. Walking into his office we were welcomed warmly by him and his staff. It was a dream come true to meet such a brilliant producer.

The Eden Magazine had the honor of visiting Randall Emmett at his office in Beverly Hills, CA. This would turn out to be an unforgettable day. As we arrived to his office the power in the building went out. The thought that the interview and photo shoot would have to be rescheduled was at the forefront of our concerns, since Randall has such a busy schedule that it takes months for any magazines to get a date to visit him, but with The Eden Magazine it took less than one week. Many thanks to our dear friend Bobbie Chance.

As we departed Randall said that he had a great time with the shot and looks forward to seeing himself in the December issue of The Eden Magazine.

In the last year, Emmett produced LONE SURVIVOR, directed by Peter Berg, starring Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch and Emile Hirsh, as well as 2 GUNS, written by Steven Grant and Blake Master, and directed by Baltasar Kormákur, starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington; EMPIRE STATE, written by Adam Mazer and directed by Dito Montiel, starring Liam Hemsworth, Dwayne Johnson, and Emma Roberts; and THE TOMB, written by Miles Chapman and directed by Mikael Håfström, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.

The holidays are here, and so are we in our happy spirits, aren’t we? When winter holidays are echoing in our ears, it is time to be thankful for what we have, or maybe we should be more thankful for who we are. It is always good to strive for more, to hope for more, but after you have looked around and acknowledged that your position is way better than others, say: “Thank You” and smile. In a material driven society, the great man is not the one who drives a better car, lives in a bigger mansion, or wears designers’ clothes; the great man is “he who is in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude,” like Ralph Emerson once said. Each human being was given his or her own cross to bear, so there is no point in envying others. Envy is ignorance! It is not what others have, but how much you were given and how you had appreciated it. At the end of the day, yes, money can bring calmness, but not happiness. Money can enhance your life, but it cannot build your character. Money can bring financial security but not emotional comfort; money can secure your social class but not your world sophistication. Einstein was right, once again, when he asserted that, “Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.” With our mind being scattered and pulled in so many different directions, it is easy to forget who we are for what we have! It is forgivable to be human and just go with the flow for a while, but all of us started with a huge set of inner treasures that will always be there should we be more aware or awakened to discover or rediscover them. We need to stop thinking that we are based on what we have and, even worse, that we are based on what others told us to be. We need to look at ourselves and find the inner road to our hearts, the high and bright way to our souls. We are the projections of our thoughts in the universe. We are what we think we are, and we have what we think we do. Nobody is in a competition with anybody else. The only race we will run is the one with fate, the one against time, our time. At the end of our lives, our actions will be based on our thoughts and on the traces we would leave on others. The footprints in time will be the scale of our own valor.

and ignorance among cultures and religions. Wherever you look, there is another bomb exploding; there are hundreds of people massacred in a concert hall; cadavers are lying still in front of restaurants, bend-over mothers are crying over their beloved inert bodies; cries of help and screams of pain are echoed in the sky. Where exactly have we lost our human touch? Where and why have we forgotten who we truly are - as human beings – in the name or a certain pseudo religion we serve blindly, we follow indiscriminately, we abide by unconditionally? Why did we erase the human kindness we were born with, the love we were given as our birthright, the undivided soul for all that lives and treasure all that breathes? Can “what we have not who we are” be the root of this crisis? Race, religion, culture, social class, and political affiliations are just labels used by governments to divide us even more, to categorize and box us accordingly. We are none of those, and the moment we forget that, we start attacking our own kind! We are not what others told us to be and we are definitely not what we have! We are deriving from the same universal “pie” and each and every slice is like the other ones. No more, no less! The moment we pick up wrappings of different color, of various textures, well adorned containers, we BELIEVE we are different, and we start acting randomly, creating chaos for our own kind. We start thinking that we are worth more than others; we start criticizing, discriminating and soon enough destroying this beautiful home we all have and should treasure for that matter. Let’s take a moment and think who we were before others have told us what to become and what to believe in…

When a new year is approaching, faster than we have ever planned for, let’s review our past one. If we seeded one tree, we fed one bird, we touched one child, and we brought one smile on a person’s face, we did a lot. We accomplished what we, as human beings, suppose to do. Now sit back and relax! That time of the year has come! Be thankful for another sunrise and for another amazing sunset. All of them are offerings to us, humans, given by the omniscient uniNow for the holidays, countries have been at- verse, which has never stopped loving us uncontacked; cities have been destroyed, there is so ditionally! much grief and distress in the world nowadays; there is so much hate, jealousy, anguish, cruelty,

by P. M. H. Atwater, L.H.D.

What lies at the heart of near-death experiences? A God that in ways beyond description, smiles at you. Bigger, larger, more powerful than the God of holy writ, this God – the real thing – is an all-encompassing Oneness, Allness, that, as It breathes, moves skin and bark and wings and stars and babes and rivers and comets and dreams and faces. . . as well as mustard on your hotdog. The book, Dying to Know You: Proof of God in the Near-Death Experience, unleases that collective voice – the millions of experiencers worldwide who speak as one – people who will never write a book or step on a stage – what they say. Bookstores are crowded today with gripping tomes about near-death experiences. Cases of verifiable details and corroboration not only from loved ones, but from the medical establishment itself. A number of these books are now best sellers. People seem unable to hear enough, read enough, learn enough. . . from those who have passed through death’s doorway and returned. The impact of this phenomenon cuts deep, as no minister, pastor, priest, psychic, intuitive, or medium can match what is now unfolding. Very few researchers address the entire phenomenon in their work, certainly not skeptics. . . who seem to prefer “piecemeal” attacks based on what they believe causes “the light show” experiencers often describe and without regard to the range of experiencer ages, the vividness overtime of what was experienced, and the depth, range, and power of the aftereffects pattern. Warning: you cannot refer to the near-death phe-

nomenon without being prepared to confront whatever you feel or believe about social contracts and commitments, life and death, heaven and hell, body and soul, God/Allah/Deity (the concept of a Creator God). By confront I mean facing facts that may challenge as well as surprise you. . . like being met on the “other side” by aborted babies, missing twins, relatives you may never have known you had, family secrets. . . perhaps even an expansive view of life’s continuity and histories beyond anything taught or ever known. Even hearing a special voice or having a quick in-and-out-of-body experience can be enough to trigger lasting changes in the individual’s life. The key is intensity. The more intense the experience (no matter how short or long of duration), the greater the flood of aftereffects.

The average near-death experiencer is without vital signs (no heartbeat, no breath, no brainwaves) for about five to twenty minutes. That’s average. Some are without vital signs for over an hour. A few revive in the morgue, much to the shock of morgue personnel. A signature feature of the phenomenon: experiencers return with little or no brain damage, rather, brain enhancement. Most come back smarter than they were before, especially true with children – the younger the more pronounced this jump in intelligence tends to be. The near-death experience can cover a wide range of elements. Those most commonly reported are:

17 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

finding oneself apart from the physical body (vivid details of being out-of-body, most are later confirmed); being engulfed by a light that knows all about you and can converse with you (described by adult experiencers as brighter than 10,000 suns--you’re instantly fried but there is no pain); meeting a greeter of some kind (sometimes predeceased loved ones, as well aspets, angels, light beings, religious figures) ; experiencing a life review (sometimes dispassionate and objective as if a learning opportunity, other times more radical – like reliving any pain caused others). There can be other elements, such as tunnels and heavenly cities, but these are not commonly reported. . . contrary to media hype. The aftereffects are both physical and psychological. Physically – involving changes to brain structure and function, changes to the nervous and digestive systems, and skin sensitivity. Electrical, sound, light, and pharmaceutical sensitivities are commonplace afterward, as if the individual’s electromagnetic field altered and one’s faculties of perception enlarged. Psychologically – loss of the fear of death, gain healing and intuitive abilities, become more creative, compassionate, loving, dedicated to social justice and spirituality, yet challenged by former relationships and communication styles. There can be depression because of the inability to resume “life as always.” The desire to transform one’s life often matches the transformation of consciousness that occurred. Near-death experiences say yes to the soul. Yes, we all have one – our greater self, the real us. Near-death experiences say yes to God. Yes, there is one, greater than anyone’s ability to describe. Terminology may change afterward, though, such as referring to God as Creator, Core, Om, Source place, Father-Mother-God, Light, Presence, The All, One, The Force, Universal Essence. . . or simply Love. . . yet always with that sense, that absolute knowing that a God/Allah/Deity is absolutely positively real. That Light, that Presence you come to know, is felt as the very essence, the heart and soul, the all-

consuming consummation of ecstatic ecstasy. Indeed, it really is ten million suns of compressed Love dissolving everything unto Itself, annihilating thought and cell, vaporizing humanness and history, into the one great brilliance of all that is and all that ever was and all that will ever be. Belief in God dissolves afterward because “belief ” implies doubt. There is no more doubt. Knowing this leads to a quiet passion, a driving force. . . always present, always available. God as Nameless Presence is seen to exist beyond what words can tell and any concept of gender, a fullyconscious intelligence and creative principle so great that It envelops and permeates all levels, all things, all possibilities, all potential, all aspects of creation, all belief systems. The near-death phenomenon validates all the world’s great religions. . . except for one thing. . . the God one finds on the other side of death is the God of all. Did you know: most of the saints canonized by the Catholic Church had a near-death experience as a child? Family letters show that Edgar Cayce, the great psychic, displayed none of his incredible gifts until after he drowned at age five. The idea of mission, that we each have a job to do, a mission to perform, perhaps several, maybe one after another – shines forth from the near-death phenomenon – along with the importance that we each have our place in the overall scheme of things, no matter how long or short our lifespan may be. It is true that most adult experiences lament that they were never told or shown what their mission was. With the kids, the issue of mission is no problem: “It doesn’t matter if you know what your job is. If you follow your heart and pray about it, you’ll be shown or nudged in the right direction.” You can hardly turn on a television set today without accessing some channel featuring gripping stories of near-death experiences, stories that are not just about life-after-death, but of the magnitude and the reality of God, who loves, forgives, encourages. And of revelations that the life we lead is not what we think it is, that there is a greater reason and purpose behind all things, that it is up to us to awaken. . . to our job as co-creators with the Creator. We make this world a better place, not some God-wand that magically does it for us.

You can hardly turn on a television set today without accessing some channel featuring gripping stories of near-death experiences, stories that are not just about life-after-death, but of the magnitude and the reality of God, who loves, forgives, encourages. And of revelations that the life we lead is not what we think it is, that there is a greater reason and purpose behind all things, that it is up to us to awaken. . . to our job as co-creators with the Creator. We make this world a better place, not some God-wand that magically does it for us. Personally, I’ve been a researcher of near-death states since 1978 and have written ten books on my findings from a research base that is presently near to 4,000 adult and child experiences. This book is my eleventh, but it’s not like any of the others, nor any other near-death book of record. Dying to Know You: Proof of God in the NearDeath Experience is from the collective, speaking together about the collective experience. It focuses on the words and passions of thousands, perhaps millions, who speak as one voice about mission, God, soul, life, death, heaven, hell, the borderlands, the big picture – all of it awash with revelations that pierce through denominations and divisions of thought and belief. I was told to do the work I have done in my third near-death experience. A voice spoke to me - not angel, disincarnate, or light being - but a voice I came to know as The Voice Like None Other. It said: “Test revelation. You are to do the research. One book for each death.” Book one was not named, although I think that book was Coming Back To Life; books two and three were named (book two Future Memory, book three a special manual I am now working on). I’m a cop’s kid raised in a police station so I used police investigative techniques as my protocol. To say I have been thorough over the decades I have worked would be an understatement. It is also an understatement to say that this particular book is like anything you or I can describe. When you focus on the God of Your Being, a God you have personally come to know, everything changes; research, personal stories, opinions, all fade and a greater Source emerges.

The most common phrase spoken by near-death experiences afterward, not only in my research but in the work of others, is: Always there is life. If you really look at those four words, what millions and millions of people tell us is, there is no before

life, no now life, no afterlife. Always, in some form, in some place, in some way, we have always existed, we exist now, and we will always exist. Eternity is our home! *

P. M. H. Atwater, L.H.D., is one of the original researchers in the field of near-death studies. Some of her findings have been verified in clinical studies, among them the prospective study done in Holland and published in Lancet medical journal, 12-15-01. She has received many awards, her books translated into 12 languages. She publishes a free monthly newsletter, available to all by signing up on Her “Duo-Program” features 40 drawings from experiencers in various countries, presented in a timed Powerpoint, as she shares from her latest book. The drawings represent the collective heart, sharing the collective voice. To bring the Duo-Program to your area, contact her through her website.

When You Don’t Know What to Do Next, Finish Something by Joel Fotinos

20 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

Do ever feel stuck or unsure what to do next? All of us have felt that feeling, of not being sure what to do next. Whether it is feeling unsure what to do next for the day, or what to do next in life, confusion about “next steps” can leave us feeling stagnant, confused, frustrated, or even depressed. I’ve found that when I’m not sure what to do next in life or when I am feeling “stuck,” the most helpful thing for me to do is to simply do what is in front of me. Finish something. Complete a project or task or to-do list of items. (This works on two levels — the short-term items and projects that I need to do, and also the long-term goals I have for my life.) Here are the 3 steps I take for the short-term items to get un-stuck… STEP 1 – LIST: I take my notebook and begin to make a list of everything that is “undone” in my life. This includes any projects I’m currently working on that are unfinished, as well as items such as cleaning out that closet, making any healthcare appointments (dentist, yearly physical, etc.), paying bills, and anything else that comes to mind. I don’t spend more than 5 or so minutes compiling this list — I don’t want to make the list so long that I’ll get discouraged, but 5 minutes is long enough to get most of the important items. You can always add to the list later, if other unfinished items pop up in your mind. STEP 2 – PRIORITIZE: Then, I prioritize the list this way — at #1 I write down the thing on my list that I least want to do at that moment, at #2 I write the next least thing I want to do, and so on. STEP 3 – ACT: I take action on the first item immediately. Here’s a helpful hint: since I start with the thing I least want to do, I usually give myself a time limit so I don’t feel overwhelmed. For instance, I’ll look at the first item on my list, and then think, “I’ll spend 30 minutes on this and stop whether I’m done or not.” Often when I commit to 30 focused minutes, it is enough time to accomplish the task or at least get a good bit done on it. And most of the time, if I don’t finish the task by the end of the 30 minutes, I just keep on going until I’m done. I’ve

also used 15 minutes, or even 5 minutes as my time limit, depending on the task. Using these simple techniques creates momentum. Momentum occurs when we take action — and that momentum can carry us forward. When I finish item #1, I’m usually so relieved and energized that I dive into item #2. When I finish item #2, I go as quickly as possible to item #3. Taking action, then, becomes a chain reaction that enlarges my life and helps me to achieve any goals that I have. If you are feeling stuck or unsure, allow yourself the gift of taking yourself and your life seriously enough to take at least one positive action today. Commit to just 30 minutes today finishing up a project, and have fun while doing it. Play your favorite music while doing it, or give yourself a reward when you finish, or call a friend to come and help. Do whatever it takes today to move forward. You’ll be glad you did!

Communities of heart gather throughout the world with a unified focus in their own ways to give thanks to the Creator for their many blessings.

Imagine living each day in joy, greeting the day with a song in your heart and with a dance in your steps. Why not bring joy and pleasure into all you do, all the foods you eat, all of your relationships, all your experiences. It is your divine birthright to live in joy, and to be joyful. It is your destiny. Why not claim this now. During this time of the year when hearts are turned to love, remember you are the greatest gift. You are a gift of joy, a gift of love. You hold within your heart the promise of the time when all will live their truth, and bask in lightness as they dance in joy throughout the gift of their life. Chanulanaha my sweet ones, remember you are joy, you are sparkling light, you are love, for you are My children of heart. I celebrate you and thank you for the gift of you. With great love, Your Beloved Mother

Perception: How Our Bodies Remember by Patti Conklin

28 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ December 2015

Our bodies remember everything. All that we have ever said or thought remains stored within us, inside the very cells that make up our physical being. When we look at our world, we look through the lens of our past. We carry with us the emotional history that comes attached to our everyday life. Each emotion felt and every word said or thought is a physical manifestation in our bodies. In essence, therefore, when we look at our current life, we look at it from the history that has already been established within our body. In my profession, I help to reveal the manifestations that so many people overlook within themselves. It is important to take ten steps backwards in order to see the big picture and gain some perspective in whatever current situation we find ourselves involved. You cannot see the forest through the trees; everything is about perception. When I work with someone to heal or bring peace, I must help them realize what it is in their life that needs to be changed. Inasmuch as it is impossible to change what you do not know, it is essential in healing to be honest with yourself about what you do know. What is it really that is making you happy or unhappy? Sometimes we can only get these answers from within ourselves, but often we need someone on the outside to talk to in order to gain perspective. It can be a trusted family member, friend or counselor‌anyone to help reveal what we have stored and why. Once we understand and know ourselves, only then are we given the insight so essential to change. If you and I shared an event together, such as watching a sunset, we may have two completely different experiences. You might watch the sunset in total serenity, remembering childhood days of playing in the park until the sun went down. I might watch it with anxiety, remembering an old fear of the dark that I battled with even into adulthood. We look at the events within the context of our personal history.

29 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ December 2015

We also experience life not just based on our history but also in how we communicate in our everyday speech. I may be an auditory person and you may be visual, so you may remember seeing the colors of the sunset and I may remember hearing the crickets waking up for their nightly song. This is the basis of perception: what form of communication we use and what our individual history is. The words we would use to describe that sunset and the emotion we attach to it is what we will store within our “immune system,” or what I refer to as our “subtle energy field.” What we are storing becomes so important because any negative word that you speak and every negative thought that you think has an emotion attached to it. This negativity is being stored within your body without your ever knowing it. As it flows through you, it starts to slow down and begins to create a density ultimately leading to a “blockage” in your immune system. These blockages can cause physical illness or disease. It is important to remember that although we have innumerable ways to walk through our lives, our decision to attach emotions to words is what creates our everyday reality. As an example referring again to sunset, if you have no ability to speak, hear, think, or feel—that is, you can only see—then sunset is simply that, a sunset. The significance is in the words and thoughts we give to the event, such as, “Wow! What an incredible sunset!” or, “That sunset made me realize how fortunate I am to be alive!” or, “Well, the clouds got in the way, so I couldn’t see much, but those clouds were spectacular!” These statements are neutral, unconditional or positive, and any will join with your body in strengthening your immune system. Conversely, if you look at the event and think, “What a waste of time! I missed the game on T.V. for this? ” or, “What a blah ending to terrible day,” then such thoughts are negative and will flow into your immune system as such. These are the kind of observations that, like the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back, will eventually create a blockage. This is how an illness can begin. It is vital to know and remember that each of us has the ability to choose how to respond to situations in our lives. Indeed, since it is your perception

People have been asking questions about the nature of God since the dawn of humankind. And even though our world has seen many advances in both science and technology over the last few centuries, disagreements about God still, to this day, lead to ethnic and religious warfare, hatred, exploitation, the suppression of women, and the debasing of human dignity. Many religions have created rituals and dogmas that separate one from the other, and they often cling to the belief that only they have the answers, the correct explanations, the one truth. But are any of them actually right? Can the true nature of God ever truly be understood or explained? IGod will be out this fall 2014.

An Experience, not a Memory by Roxana Jones

36 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ December 2015

37 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

The reason why we must live in the present is simple: It is the ONLY space and time where we are able to experience love. Yes, love can’t be found in the past or the future, and the only way we can create something new is by loving it in the now. So why is it that so many of us insist on staying in the past, if what we live there is only an illusion and nothing new can be created from that space and time? Again, the answer to that is quite simple. The majority of us believe that the memories of love are the same thing as the experience of true love. Our minds teach us to see the memories of our past with love or with pain. But, do we – the owners of our minds – see the difference between feeling love or pain for something that is no longer a part of our reality, and feeling love in this now moment for what it is and for what we are IN this present moment? It is so important to reflect on this…and it is important because our happiness depends on it. You see, love is never a memory and it is always an experience. Of course we can love or hate our memories, but this doesn’t mean that we will be able to go back in time to feel true love… I hope you are able to see the difference because: •If we are not in the present moment we are not able to understand what is to be love •If we are not able to be love, we cannot use love as the eternal force that brings EVERYTHING we deserve into our lives •If love cannot bring to us ALL we deserve into our lives, it means we are not living the highest version of ourselves nor our highest purpose. Last but not least, if we are not living the highest version of ourselves nor our highest purpose, it only means one thing: That we still need to practice forgiveness and do more inner healing work so that we can say goodbye to our past and thank it for all the lessons it has offered us. Only then, we will be able to understand the gift of the now, a gift that can only be unveiled once we are willing to feel love as an experience and not as a memory. Until next time and don’t forget to be love! 38 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

Roxana Jones and Arnaud Saint-Paul devote themselves to their life purpose: To open as many hearts as possible and to help shifting the consciousness of the planet. As spiritual healers and teachers, life and business partners, their intent is to “help millions around the world to embrace change and start living the type of love, happiness and abundance both of them now know exists for everyone once they are healed.” Together, they work enthusiastically in bringing to their audience the best of themselves so that everyone can connect to their own Truth and unveil who they truly are: divine beings enlightening the world in their own unique ways, even when darkness makes it hard to believe it is so.

If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men. ~St. Francis of Assisi

We R…..We R

TIME misunderstood holds all answers in its NOW MOVEMENT 40 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

by Michael White Ryan We are a strange breed, born into this game of hide and seek. Hence we find ourselves gifted with unimaginable possibilities way beyond anything our present perceptions will perceive. Through those repetitive learning experiences we burst through waters onto a new platform to be free, free from freedom. We exist while grasping our onboard luggage projecting out before us, as some form of safe foundation to maintain the status quo. A status quo that guarantees certainty exists in all the same aspects of life, a language of choice that speaks to past energy, a living dead energy. Time misconceived, worded incorrectly, a living consciousness, a language of bilateral information’s which allow us to step from left brain to right brain or right to left in any sequence we choose. When we perceive mistakenly something that feels real, we control our everything in the universe past. This level that we exist in now, it appears it is absolutely correct by all definitions. We think we are progressive and our results in which our goals blindly leading, lead us to keep us occupied… The world of tomorrow is not a strategic ladder based on that which existed yesterday, I am talking about yesterday November 2015, November 2014 and all the November neon’s beyond this moment in time. For when we listen closely, when we look into the depths of the shadow that is so commonly referred to in order to communicate. Something that basically referees to the status quo (past) you will find standing before you is you, the regurgitated self. Believe me when I state, time is present now and may not, unfortunately may not be in a world where we function today. How we function today, whatever we think the function of today may be that reasoning, that entrapment is the only reason this prison, this mass forest of confines stills binds us. It is within all therapies which give an access, do we ever believe shall bring flow back into our lives. Still we rise to a level of evolution of an individual, of the collected individual, of the collected we. Once more in this world, the power of the individual which has remained an external moves into the coming spaces. Windows of truths

are standing facing every single person on the face of this planet now, at every given moment in time. They are invisible due to intellectual awareness of absolute blindness. Dare I even voice such a remark, ay, an assumption, a question or is this a form of distraction. Reality stands on the other side of the curtain, so close that I can reach out and yet still remain totally un-aware. We are not separate from the adjustment bureau, born with the gift of, “evaluation” granted by universal consciousness. Also bestowed on us by ancient human masters, an allowance, and a gateway compass pointing the way to evolution. The silent language of symbolism is a 360 degree cycle enveloping every aspect of life past, present, of now, of future. We hear silence in a heartbeat, through a sense of perception, knowledge and experience. Not knowing is directly related to the self, not only via our five senses but also a mindset of “drown the ego” “get rid of it” “don’t acknowledge it” “turn your back on it” “meditate your way out of it”. All processes of separation, all processes of not acknowledging our fullness, but rather living a life of segregation. Masculine had the past, feminine on the rise has the future, our so called positive mindset still groups in the singular. Is this not the 21st Century, then why oh why do we still ---practicing--- segregation when our intelligence, intellect knows better? Oh how our mindset throws an impact which continues us to the process of in-equality. The function of the creative left brain says we will innovate a logical step by step process and build solutions to a new future. Oh we may think we side steeped control….unfortunately that is the definition of control. Receptivity tells us it’s not a step by step process, if so I can only move forward one inch at a time, ten inches at a time depending on (ha) the distance between each piece of logic!

The strategies of tomorrow especially for those in business…are organic. Tomorrows surviving businesses will move forward in leaps and bounds, continued flow, for they have overcome the challenges right here and now. 41 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

Divine grace has placed a gift that we have placed before us by the choices we have made in the past. Risk is not “a risk” risk is evolution. Not by definition as definition confines a point of focus and has not changed for hundreds of years, by meaning I say its mature awesome meaning which ripples/ flows out around us in a 360 degree locations. The world is moving, time is on the run, and our evolution announces our slow-down is now running behind everything surrounding us. This is not evident to those whose success is still generated from perpetuating the past. This message is for those whose knowing recognizes evolution is a must! In order to keep pace we need to re-set our timing. To res-set time within us, to that which surrounds us, to that which I breathe so that we may function in a relationship of equality in union with this divine universe. Not necessarily just to this manmade heaven on earth social environment? Go within, look, ask and discover, for you have arrived at, this is who I am now December 2015, this is my new foundation. For this will become a new found personal freedom based upon all that is now??? The Yin Yang symbol is one of the most powerful profound aid, scribed into this planet today and yet it is so much more. It interrupts an energy language of many other symbolic forms already known, but mostly we are unable to see the connection back to the source. The Yin Yang symbol shows us a dividing line, it is not the line of separation, but rather one of integration. Fellow humans, we exist for reasons we have yet to discover, that which still remains alien in us, to discover/know the essence of self. Without this knowing our foundation will remain full of lost areas, wholes will exist in our aura, physical body and chemical structure. Now this question arises… are we chemical beings, we are not…we are elemental beings a measure of frequency and vibration. We are the Yin and Yang of the symbol! When we remove the outer circle from our mindset, from knowledge we connect as one with all that is. Feng Shui at the heart core…Blessings!!!

TheMagic of Your art by mehmeturgut 44 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ December 2015

My main goal for this book is to share with you the magical tools that will help you stop just existing on the earth, feeling like a victim. I want to help you reclaim the magic that is within you, that you were born with but have not accepted or acknowledged before now. Researchers report that 40,000 to 50,000 thoughts enter your mind every day. It has also been shown that as many as 80 percent of your thoughts are negative on an average day. That means you are reacting to external programming. Since our thoughts affect our emotions it is important that you recognize the numbing effect those negative thoughts have on your out- look, your attitude, your creativity, and your passion for life. Most people believe that their personal thoughts have no power. Our thoughts have been described as harmless bits of consciousness that hold no substance or energy of their own. Neuroscientists, medical researchers, psychologists, and meta- physicians have proven that thoughts are electrical impulses that trigger chemical activity in the brain. When you think, you are giving your brain an electrical command and it responds by doing several things. Initially the brain reacts by releasing chemicals into the body and directing the central nervous system to take any required action. Your thoughts also trigger the brain to scan your memory and to record any necessary information about that thought that may be of future value. Your subcon- scious mind records every thought that goes through your con- scious mind, as well as all the information automatically brought into the brain through all of your senses. These thoughts and information bits are then classified and recorded so they can be recalled when you need them. First let’s acknowledge that our brains are very sophisticated organs. We are made of more than just flesh and blood. In fact, we literally have four volts of electricity in our body. Every time we have a

thought—right or wrong, true or false—some of that electric current travels from the conscious mind into the subcon- scious mind and creates an image or picture. We literally think in images, and the objective of the subconscious mind is to match the images in your mind with the reality of your life. All your future success must be envisioned in your personal mind before it can manifest in your life. This is probably the opposite of what you have been taught to believe about your brain and about thinking. Since child- hood, you’ve been taught to look for the evidence, the facts, and the proof before you believe something is possible. This limiting mindset certainly eliminates creative thoughts about what you believe is possible in your life. Your brain has been trained only to see and believe what the leftbrain states are facts, thereby hampering your imagination and abilities to create a new reality with more personal power. If you have unhealthy emotions of imagined fears, worry, resentment, or guilt, the body responds with a tense feeling of nervousness, stress-related illness, tiredness, and lack of energy and creativity. Your subconscious mind will produce whatever result you ask for. Shakespeare’s statement from hundreds of years ago is still true: “There is nothing good or bad, but thinking has made it so.” You are made of energy and your self-image contains the imprinted energy patterns of who you are and what you believe. Think of this self-image as a blueprint from which your life is built. It is your IEB. The brain functions with precision, receiving, process- ing, storing, and then acting on the information it has stored. Remember that your brain, like the earth, does not discern what you plant. The earth works just as hard to grow weeds as it does beautiful flowers. The only difference is the seed that was sown. Like a seed, we are self-fulfilling prophecies because the mind, like the fertile soil of a garden, will produce what we have planted. 45 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

Many of your old self-limiting beliefs have no foundation of truth but they grow like weeds! Instead of empowering your authentic self and purpose, they hold you back from success. If you think or believe that you are destined to be poor, unlucky in love, clumsy, overweight, or average, which are all weed seeds, you will take unconscious actions that make these thoughts become reality. None of these thoughts are actually true, but continuing to think them creates beliefs and images in your mind, a sort of blueprint, which reinforces these negative and limiting statements until they actually become true for you. The subconscious mind does not know the difference between factual reality and imagined reality. You know, your subconscious mind doesn’t even know right from wrong. It doesn’t know current events from past events or even imaginary events. It simply receives and files the thoughts. This powerful subconscious mind has the ability to hold and process massive amounts of data. The mind works upon the information and data you feed into it every day and creates the reality of your life from that information. That’s why it’s so important to carefully consider the kind of information you feed your mind. Everything that you think—true or false, good or bad——is processed by the conscious mind and imprinted on the subcon- scious. So, whatever information you repeatedly program into your subconscious about your abilities, your potential, and your worth is what you believe to be true about yourself and about what you will be able to manifest in your life. The average person is so busy reinforcing their own existing limiting mental programs that they cannot connect with their authentic self ’s real talents and natural skills. Your current self- image, whether real or illusion, is the foundation upon which your entire life and future is built. You will simply act out the type of person you conceive yourself to be, based upon your beliefs about yourself. You will not know any better if you do not become conscious that you, and you alone, have the ability to re-direct the focus of your life by changing the thoughts you think about yourself. Yet, the majority of our thoughts about our own abilities hold us back from achieving the quality of life that is available to us. It is human nature to

46 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

follow the path of least resistance. Your mind also follows the habit of thoughts that create the least resis- tance. That is why the old thought patterns embedded in your mind (those “weed seed” thoughts) seem to have power to crowd out the new thought patterns or habits of mind that you would like to establish. By becoming truly conscious of this pattern- ing effect and deliberately feeding your mind with thoughts that empower change, you magically create that new Inner Energetic Blueprint (IEB) for your mind to operate from in the future. Buddha said, “All that we are is the result of what we have thought.” Your life is the sum total of the information you have programmed yourself to be by your thinking patterns—and for now, you believe it. You are influenced and programmed by the caliber of information that has been recorded in your own self- image, your IEB. Your IEB is formed by your daily thoughts, and is the core of your being. It determines everything about you from how much money you make, your weight, how fast you age, the success of your relationships, and your risk ability, to how good you are at sports or math. This magical blueprint influences your brain about how to see the world. Are you an optimist, realist, or pes- simist? Are you openminded and curious about life or are you narrowminded and not interested in learning anything new? Every day, your IEB sends you millions of messages about WHO you are. Most of us believe that we can’t change our poten- tial or our capabilities beyond whatever has been programmed into our IEB by the many external influences we receive each day. I have great news for you: You’re not stuck with the old blueprint. You were born with a purpose and a reason for living and the truth is, for most people, that “purpose blueprint” got pushed into the back of your mental operations to make space for your survival-in-the-modern-world blueprint! As soon as you embrace these concepts and do the work to repair your blue- print, you will know that you have the choice to either reinforce old programs and beliefs about yourself (letting the weeds grow!) or to plant the seeds of power in your life with positive images.

So how did your self-image develop? Who told you who you would become? How are these images reinforced in your life? Let’s look back at how it all began. Without realizing it was happening, your brain was fed out- dated, obsolete, one-sided information that hinders your moti- vation and distorts your beliefs about your capacity to create a more fulfilling and prosperous life. Most of our educational systems don’t teach accurate information about how our minds operate. We are taught to follow the leaders, to do as we are told, and to behave . This type of thinking will not afford you an origi- nal life nor will it allow you to break free from the limitations of indoctrination by the world you were brought up in. You must start to question which of the the beliefs you hold that serve you and which ones sabotage you. Think for a moment of the untold hours of negative fear- based programming you have been subjected to over the course of your life. Just for fun, let’s talk about those insane studies we are subjected to in all news, magazines, and newspapers. For example: The list of foods and components of foods that are bad for you is too long to master and changes almost daily. Salt is beneficial; no, salt will kill you. Ditto, red meat, cheese, carbo- hydrates, wine, and just about everything else you eat. Recently Time Magazine put butter on its cover for a redemptive article after decades of media telling everyone that butter is not good for your heart. I am not saying these things are good or bad, but the point here is that you are always being programmed by mindnumbing repetition of negative news from the media. Watch out for negative information that keeps you in a state of anxiety, doubt, fear, and lack of confidence. This may be hard to swallow, but the truth is, we have been victims of our own societies’ programming. We are indoctrinated by the beliefs of those who raised us, the schools and religions we learned from, and the culture of the times we live in. I will admit most of that programming is from people who have no ill intent but who were also programmed with faulty information. And yes, there are some people programming you who have nothing in mind but their own agendas, who are power and money hun- gry and operate purely from greed.

It is your job to discern who is who. That is why you have free will.

The New

Year’s Resolution with Flair, Finesse and FUNctionality! Creating a New Peace of Mind By Holley Kelley, M.S., C.P.G.

New Year’s resolutions are a long-held tradition, marking new beginnings and renewed commitments for more of what we hope for, but fell short of achieving in the years prior. Marked with motivation and newfound pledges, the best of resolutions often fade to the wayside by February. So this year, how about a New Year’s resolution hat makes the top of the list for priorities, is guaranteed to be personally enriching, and is met with complete success in just two months? Instead of planning your life, how about planning your death!? We often spend so much time focusing on specific goals, that we easily overlook the omnipresent aspect of our life... aging-and ultimately being a conscious participant in our own future passing. Acknowledging these two inevitable realities creates a wonderful opportunity to personally define your destiny for gracious and dynamic aging, while thoughtfully putting your signature on the specific details of your future providence. It’s letting your body and your spirit depart on YOUR own terms. However, final-affairs planning is also an incredibly important component of your existing life affairs today. It’s far more than just matters such as advance care planning aspects, advance directives, and your Last Will and Testament. It’s really about

having peace of mind while you are living! Done right, it is a rewarding personal journey, involving a multi-layered approach that creates an opportunity for heartening growth, transcendence into new levels of higher consciousness, and confidence that your desires will be carried forth as you deem them. It’s a chance to set the record straight, to unclutter your conscience, and define the legacy YOU wish to leave. When your affairs are in order, you have distinguished your future in spectacular detail, as well as eased unnecessary burdens from your loved ones. Doing so provides the perfect opportunity to do a house-cleaning self-reflection, to relive what is special and unique about your life, to leave behind a distinctive written legacy that serves as a virtual and meaningful remembrance of you. It is a way to avoid familial discord, by making important decisions about your life and preferences-utilizing dependable faculties and sound mind. When final-affairs planning is purposefully embraced, it makes the second half of life more rewarding, happier and more deeply soulful. Consider taking these actions as part of your 2016 Final Affairs resolutions:

• Creating a bucket list is a wonderful exercise, allowing you to identify life pursuits and interests you dream of experiencing. It serves as a blueprint for future fulfillment and adventure! Furthermore, it’s a way for you to truly express your soul-driven desires. • But, what is equally important is the “kick-thebucket list;” defining anything that must transpire so that you can consciously and virtuously solidify your life’s passage with genuine peace and comfort. Such items include resolving long-held feuds, making peace or amends, asking forgiveness from yourself or others. The point is to ensure you remain in complete concord with yourself and those you care about. Completing a bucket list and a “kick-thebucket” list can be a revitalizing and liberating experience, providing surprisingly new opportunities for spiritually-enlightened living. • Funeral planning is another area of importance and allows you to design every detail regarding your life celebration. This soul-soothing exercise can be really enjoyable, allowing you to personally create your own farewell-one that really reflects your selfexpression--a last “themed” festivity for instance, or something with special nuance (think doves, butterflies, uplifting music choices from your life history). Let this be a connection to your living heart and your everlasting spirit. • Well-orchestrated, pre-determined funerals encourage healing and heartfelt remembrance for those left behind. Wise funeral planning also includes writing your own obituary, a reflective task that tells the world who you are, who you love and what is significant about your amazing life. You’d be surprised to see the immeasurable gratitude this elicits from your survivors! • From family trees, archiving family history, to logging important family medical information and financial information-each is a vital and unique piece of the final affairs planning puzzleincluding itemizing meaningful personal mementos, family heirlooms and sharing family customs. Defining who gets what in advance can circumvent family quarrels and conflict because wishes have been clearly conveyed. Planning and recording all these matters in advance prevents indecision, infighting, and hurt feelings that often plague families.

52 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

• In “putting your house in order,” this presents a perfect opportunity to also release those items you no longer need, that don’t contribute to your joy and welfare any more, and that would only be left for your family to sort through and discard. Find other places (shelters, thrift shops, direct donations to others, etc.)---where your “things” can be loved and appreciated--a wonderful uplifting feeling knowing they have gone on to bring joy to someone else. And a relief to your survivors! • While there are many areas of comprehensive final affairs planning, one area not to overlook is sharing your wishes with your family and medical providers. This is one of the most important aspects related to your planning endeavors. • Yet, there is also a chance for you to impact not only your own healing, but the healing of your loved ones. Besides leaving a written legacy of your life for them to have as a warm and loving memorial to you, there is an opportunity to write letters to individual family members and friends, a beautiful “gift” to those you love, when you are no longer present to do so. Explanations of your decisions, wishes for their future, encouragement, wisdom, requests for family to stay connected, letters to the future bride or grandchildren yet to be born.... You can impact their lives long after you are gone.

Holley Kelley, M.S., C.P.G , gerontologist and author of Sunrises and Sunsets, Final Affairs Forged with Flair, Finesse, and FUNctionality, has awakened the nation on final affairs planning with her ground-breaking and captivating new book that seeks to make the process comprehensive, cleansing and conscious. Through her Latter-Life Planning Institute, she encourages an inspirational approach to end-of-life initiatives through consulting, workshops, seminars, presentations, and written works. Emotions and Our Physiology 54 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

by Ellen Angelica Pendergast

Watching once again the movie, “What the Bleep Do We Know?” brought some important realizations to me that I did not originally ‘catch,’ the first time I saw it at the Valley Arts theater in Tempe Arizona in 2004. The movie is a great introduction to Quantum Physics, and addresses much information on how our emotions affect our physiology. In this present article, I would like to address the information regarding our physiology; in part given by Dr. Candace Pert, whom was one of several doctors in the movie. We all hear how our negative emotions cause physical illness, and oftentimes this information is pushed away or not given much thought. I believe this is in part because we do not understand the how or why of it! Living in what appears to be a ‘solid universe,’ things just seem to be what they are, without seemingly much of a way we can change what we experience. It all seems so concrete and immovable! Quantum Physics basically states a new premise; that our feelings and our thoughts do indeed create the universe, our reality, our entire existence, including our health, and it does this by where we place our attention. It states that there are countless outcomes/ possibilities to every event and situation (and that it all exists at the same time) and that by focusing on a certain one, (whether ‘good or bad,’ whether it is what we want or DO NOT want), we will attract it right to us, experiencing it in our ‘life,’ hence, it becomes our ‘reality.’ That is why it is said that our reality is ‘subjective;’ meaning it becomes what we give it meaning to become, or plainly stated, we live what we expect, think, and feel.

So what has this to do with our physiology? It was stated somewhat this way: How we feel brings on what we call emotions. As an example, if we feel fear, our hypothalamus starts producing what is called peptides (which as defined are compounds consisting of two or more amino acids linked in a chain). Now the interesting information found in the movie, which was stated by Dr. Candace Pert is that whatever feeling/emotion we are experiencing, that exact peptide is manufactured at that time and is pumped into our body via our blood stream to all our cells. Therefore, if we feel fear, ‘fear’ peptides are delivered to each cell, where receptors are present on each cell wall to basically lock into place with the corresponding peptide. What this does is cause a disturbance in the cell itself, affecting it’s performance and it’s delicate balance. And if the cell should divide into a ‘sister cell,’ the cell will have less receptors for oxygen and nutrients, because the inner structure has been affected by that fear peptide. Fear and anger will produce those peptides that will affect our body chemistry via our cells in a negative way. Joy and Love peptides will enhance our cells, strengthening our immune system. We literally are creating our body chemistry with our feelings and thoughts! This is important as it explains WHY gratitude does indeed heal as does Love and Joy. It also explains why our emotions indeed can cause physical illness. We now understand how our physiology is created, but what about our actual reality?

55 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

The same ‘stuff ’ that we are made of (on a molecular level, protons and electrons) are also what the entire Universe is made of; from a tree to a rock to the animals and plants....and to us; all are the same if one goes to a molecular level...all are the same energy! Therefore as we feel, we literally transmit through ‘frequencies” that match up with other frequencies in the Universe and produce that experience to whatever we are feeling. Einstein said it best: “Everything is Energy; match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get it; there can be no other way; this is not philosophy, this is physics!”

Credits: Dr. Candance Pert was internationally recognized as a pharmacologist who published over 250 scientific articles on peptides and their receptors and the role of these neuropeptides in the immune system. She was honored by the New York Open Center on November 7, 2006, for her “leadership across the bridge between science and heart,”and had received the first time award of the Theophrastus Paracelsus Foundation Holistic Medicine for her pioneering work in the area of psychoneuroimmunology (St Gallen, Switzerland) on April 12, 2008.

What we feel transmits and matches another frequency carrying a specific outcome; we do this whether conscious of it or not; we all do it and we always will, for that IS Life/Love/God. Because we are all made of the same ‘stuff ’ (molecules, protons, electrons, etc.), we affect our world; hence creating our reality as we go along. (For more information, please view a video which can be found on called Dr. Quantum’s slit experiment. It was also conducted by an actual scientist in Europe and is based on his findings). It proves that the molecules, protons react to ‘the Observer,’ which is what we are. God is Life. God is Love...and we are THAT. With this information, think what you can do now, with your health, wealth, your life. We are both the created and the Creator, for God/ Life/Love is living through us and is US. For the Truth is We Are ALL ONE there truly is only one BEING sitting here..and we are can be no other way! Blessings!

The Beauty of Unification By Frank Daly

58 THEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ November 2015

Unification is seemingly the end result of everything, a place we call home. It is that sense of ease, relief and comfort when the conscious mind understands everyone and everything is all part of the same beautiful, intricate tapestry and that isolation and a feeling of being separate is a mere illusion.

vidual particles of experiences. No one person’s story is any more significant than another. For example, we might believe that someone like Einstein made a contribution that is greater than that of an average man. After all, he is identified as one of the most intelligent individuals of the twentieth century.

Unfortunately, it is often only when we feel alone that we are able to understand what is missing, what we truly long to experience. When we are dominated by ego and find ourselves debating that our individual life experience, our personal “story” is somehow more valid or more important than another’s we begin to understand that there is no right or wrong, only different choices, different paths that lead to varying experiences of growth. Therefore, defending our “story” about life is a necessary tool to expand our experience and realize the stories others tell can lead to our own expansion.

Einstein reached a level of what we now call “genius” due to his innate intellectual curiosity. We all possess this same quality as we are born with a desire to expand. Einstein never compared himself to others and this is where many are led astray. There is often a focus on what is lacking instead of what already exists.

An innate desire for expansion is always the driving force behind our story and with an understanding of the underlying unification that exists beneath the surface at all times, we expand at a rate that could only be expressed as quantum. When we are standing in the flow of unification we realize that everyone is telling the same story, just differently, and those differences are the pathway to infinite growth. If we are fully conscious of this we will enjoy all aspects of our experience, if not we will grow frustrated to the point of becoming conscious. This inevitably occurs because frustration is an energy that is not sustainable, therefore we will tire out to the point where we naturally look for another way to resolve whatever seemingly created our frustration in the first place. It is in that moment that we become conscious. Know that everyone experiences consciousness throughout their day-to-day living. We most likely recognize life experience from an unconscious state and we look for a place to blame why we are not happy and consequently, fall back into a state of frustration once again. The external world if simply a reflection of our own energy and we get to choose how we perceive it, there is no built in meaning, we are the one who gives it meaning and if conscious we will only perceive the external world as positive. We can choose a positive meaning regardless of the circumstance, it is always our choice. We are all one unified field of energy with little indi-

What makes someone like Einstein stand out is he understood unification was the only way things flow, like a beautiful orchestra when all sections come together to present one unified piece of harmonious music. Einstein never called himself a genius, it was those who needed to place a label on him and his knowledge and this label only perpetuated the illusion of division. When we look at our lives, too often we focus on what is missing, but if we instead view these missing pieces of the puzzle as areas for opportunity, for growth and expansion, we begin to understand that every moment is exactly as it should be. There is no need to worry, or struggle against life, but instead allow the journey of life to flow freely. This big picture view will allow us to enjoy this one moment and realize that all of life is a unified tapestry of perfection! by Philip Comella

We all have the desire to climb, to surmount, to overcome. To rise above the clouds, and to soar upward. These are flights of the real and the imagination; hike up the mountain with nothing but a backpack and sturdy shoes; fly on the wing through the sky, scaling the limitations of this hardened world. The flight occurs at its most basic level when we are young and uninhibited; the pad on the table is blank − we have the chance to write our own story, and the sky is here truly the limit; nothing stops us from using the words that come to mind: shall I place myself in a story where I become a writer, an actor, writer, doctor, or even an angel gliding through the air? With a free imagination we set a trajectory to life that shoots upward to the vast reaches of outer space − and never stops, a life eternal, the forever now. But over time the psychological pressures of our modern world push us down, telling us this planned climb of ours is futile; the flight to the sky is a flight of fancy, leading nowhere. Better just pack up and go back down. When young we see the shape of the mountain slope from only one side and believe it heads upward to the heavens; and so we begin the climb, not seeing the peek, hidden above the clouds. But then we enter the raging river of materialism, this view of the world saying that nothing exists but particles in motions; only stuff is real; and so the river drags us along with its power. These particles control us, the cells of our bodies age,

neurons degrade, seasons pass, time moves steadily forward; pressing us down; we discover the endless mountain slope was a figment of the imagination; we grow older and learn, much to our dismay, that the slope heads down faster than we thought. The power of materialism, supported by leading scientists and thinkers, infiltrates the collective mind, suppressing our hopes and dreams, changing the trajectory of our lives from an endless journey upward to the far reaches of the sky, to a free-fall to Earth. An avalanche of doubt drives us down the mountain. We replace visions of peace, with the brute reality of separateness and division. But then one day we stop to ask the big question: what is pressing us down anyway? What force is stopping the upward ascent? It is only something in our social setting, our cultural, the intellectual climate; magnified peer pressure, saying we can go no higher; we are doomed to ride the other side of the slope down into our graves. We dwell in pool of doubt; a matrix of negativity, pressing us down, inhibiting us from writing the story we have in mind, the one where we are always seeking the higher ground, where life is a series of chapters in a story that never ends. It is the downward force of materialistic science that stops the climb, this view of the world teaching us that only what is outside of us is real, that matter came first; your spirit is an emergent property = an off-gas = of the dumb stuff, we came from the dust and will return to the dust. We are in the end machines, doomed to rust, decay, and to crumble into a heap. 61 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♼ December 2015

Materialism flashes the constant message, conveyed implicitly through the media and explicitly through leading scientists that, “You are mortal creatures, doomed to fade away deep into a lonely grave. Give up the climb now.” But materialism is wrong and it is time we throw it to the side, and begin the climb anew. Our task, our only goal, is to break through the barrier of doubt and continue the climb we began long ago, when dreaming was much easier. The materialistic paradigm impedes the quest to realize our potential as unlimited spiritual beings; it prevents us from living longer, healthier lives; of staying younger longer, of making peace among the world’s religions, and of finally joining science with spirituality. It is time we let loose of the intellectual chains binding us to materialism, and allow ourselves to fly away freely. To break free of materialism we must begin the process of exposing its irreparable flaws and then convincing those who are advancing these ideas that it is time to give up the fight and move on to something more productive. This will not be easy, as the materialistic paradigm is deeply engrained in college curriculums, science textbooks, and the media. It is the “system,” the highest authority; Big Brother. But as we only have one life and one world, it would do us good to get the problem fixed now, and not be burdened by those who say the task is too difficult. If we don’t do it now, then the next generation will, and if not that one, then the next. Why wait? The fatal flaw of materialism is that it is based upon an unproven and unnecessary assumption. This assumption is that a real material world exists independently of our inner states — our will, dreams, emotions, and thoughts – and that this material world, not these inner states, controls our destiny. But if we reverse this picture and view the world not as a creation of external forces, but as an expression of our internal states, our dreams do have a chance of coming true. And this is not some 62 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

type of utopian fantasy. Rather, the worldview of materialism, like one of its new particles, ultimately degrades into a world of dreams. Here is a summary of how and why materialism is collapsing: 1. Materialism has no explanation of how something came from nothing in the Big Bang but must assume the universe full of matter miraculously arose from the void. This is a fatal problem because without an explanation for where all this stuff came from, the entire materialistic paradigm collapses. In assuming that something came from nothing outside the mind, materialists then assume that these things control us. Thus, they have assumed a mind-independent world controls us, when they have never proven that such a world can exist in the first place. 2. Materialism has no explanation for how this gigantic explosion led to the order of the natural world, or how order was created from chaos. Without an intelligent guidance force, which is taboo in science, science must assume as given the laws and constants nature; but what is the source of the laws of nature? Two of the greatest thinkers who ever considered this question concluded that the laws of nature are actually needs of the mind (David Hume), or part of structure of the mind (Immanuel Kant). Materialists ignore these conclusions and instead assume that the regularities of nature are part of the outside world. If this is true, then how did dead matter become programmed with the mathematically precise laws of nature? Hume and Kant were right: these laws are imposed from the inside outward, not from the outside, in. 3. The universe is considered perfectly in balance, where the gravitational pull of the stars cancels out the repulsive force of the big bang. We live in universe, cosmologists say, sitting on a pencil point: if there was more matter, the universe would have already collapsed upon itself; if less matter, the stars would have long ago flown away to a distant black void. How is it possible for these two impersonal forces to have so precisely balanced out each other? 4. Biologists have no credible explanation of how life, or the intricate code of the DNA molecule, arose from the dust.

5. Quantum theory shows an unbreakable link between the mind and the physical world. The tiny particles making up the world turn out not to have a defined existence outside of us. We see not ball-bearings but wave packets; bundles of energy; shadowy things that change their character depending upon how they are perceived. Two quotes among many: “The doctrine that the world is made up of objects whose existence is independent of human consciousness turns out to be in conflict with quantum mechanics and with facts established by experiment.” (Bernard d’Espagnat, “The Quantum Theory and Reality,” Scientific American (Nov. 1979); “The only reality is mind and observations, but observations are not of things. To see the universe as it really is, we must abandon our tendency to conceptualize observations as things. . . . The universe is entirely mental.” Richard Conn Henry, “The mental Universe,” Nature (July 2005). The rise in consciousness, spoken of x to realize we are one spirit is equivalent to physicists finally coming to terms with the notion that consciousness creates reality. 6. In lucid dreams and powerful hallucinations we see the mind of one person conjuring up an external physical setting mistaken for the world at large. Does anyone doubt that hallucinations and dreams happen? 7. The long history of the paranormal, parapsychology, mind over matter, clairvoyance, telepathy, precognitive dreams, and other events, show a connection between the mind and the world, and the minds of other people. What are the odds that in the entire history of the world, not one paranormal event has ever occurred? If only one has occurred, it shows that we are part of a unified consciousness. 8. The placebo effect and holistic medical cures show a connection between internal states and the physical health of our bodies. How can beliefs and our internal energy beneficially affect the body if these internal states are simply “off-gases” of material particles? 9. Scientists marvel over the “unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics” in describing the world but have no idea over the source of this order. Clearly, if a mind is at the root of the physical world, an explanation for the mathematical order of the world becomes readily apparent.

10. The idea of God is in our minds, and won’t go away. The idea of a better world, a heaven, hovers at the far end of the imagination, up there buried beneath the doubts imposed by materialism. This thought is true because it is real. In the end, we are neither products of a random, impersonal explosion, nor simply mortal creatures doomed to live a short while and then fade away. Rather, we are unlimited spiritual beings who have been fooled into thinking we dwell in the imprisoning world of materialism. We are actors in the story of God rising to the realization that together we dream the world. You don’t have to follow this track. You can register your vote for materialism and let materialists write the story of your one life. You can go with someone else’s flow and head back down the mountain. But for those who desire to write their own stories and to continue the upward ascent, it is time to release ourselves from the bonds of materialism, and continue the upward journey that began long ago. It is time to learn how to fly.

My grandmother Princess Feodora of Denmark loves to cycle with her kids through the capitol of Copenhagen and at the Palace of Amalienborg one will often see only bicycles used to move around the Palace grounds. EULOGY FOR MY BELOVED MOTHER By Sue Wong A long time ago, seemingly in another lifetime, I was born into humble circumstances in a remote rural countryside in southern China. At the age of five, I was spirited away from Maoist China by the courageous leap of my mother, who risked all to be reunited with my father--the one love of her life. She courageously bribed a border guard with her wedding jewelry sewn into a small pillow, who released us to our freedom in free British Hong Kong... My beloved Mother has transitioned into the realm of Spirit, and is now an Angel of Light. She succumbed to the congestive heart failure that had plagued her for the last three years, as well as to the dementia that had tragically ravaged her memory. I am relieved that she is finally at peace and and has joined the ranks of Angels. I know that she was greeted by all those who loved her and that she is now reunited with my father and my two brothers for all Eternity... Losing one’s Mother is a major rite of passage and a huge milestone in our lives. Ultimately, I am deeply consoled by the comforting knowledge that Flesh corrupts but Love and Spirit are forever imperishable and eternal--LOVE NEVER DIES...In the end, we are returned back to the stardust Source from whence we came. We are all passing through this temporal and transitory realm of human existence only. We are here to live, to love, to learn our lessons and then we move onward to continue our cosmic journey of soul progression. I am grieving but also releasing my Mother’s spirit back to the Stars, the Galaxies, the Cosmos and beyond. I hope for her soul to be set free so that she can soar in her spirit’s flight and odyssey of self-evolution. My Mother was truly the most generous, magnanimous, loving spirit, and a huge guiding force and presence in my life--I am eternally indebted for the immense and immeasurable love that she so unconditionally gave to me and to all whom she embraced. As well, my Mother was my most important teacher of Truth and Light... I will miss her most profoundly, deeply--more than words can ever describe...My recent casting in the film adaptation of 66 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015

THE JADE PENDANT came to me at a propitious time. I am sensitively aware of the dual nature of existence, when messages from the sub-conscious filter to the surface and manifest themselves in REAL time. We never quite understand the profundity of life, until we observe its entire panoramic tapestry. I felt drawn to the story when I saw the obvious strong connections between the characters that originated from the Taishan region, the land of our ancestry. The Taishan region of southern China where my parents and I came from produced the first Chinese settlers in America. My own Great, Great-Grandfather worked on the railroads near Sacramento in the 1800’s and directly contributed to the building of America. This resonates profoundly with my parent’s story of sacrifice and determination--the migration to America being the very core focus for opportunities and economic success that were promised on Gold Mountain. The film is a very timely and compelling filmadaptation of the celebrated novel THE JADEPENDANT. It is an epic lovestory that takes place in the United

States circa 1871 between two Chinese immigrants in Los Angeles. The novel was written by L.P. Leung nearly forty years ago, and the film is directed by Po Chih Leong, and we are blessed with both of their presence at my Mother’s memorial today. As the fates would conspire in profound ways, proving that there is always a much higher power that guides us, my Mother wore a jade pendant for sixty years which she held very close to her heart. It carried an insurmountable significance of making her immigrant dream a manifest reality – an incomparable reminder in my life of what she and my Father accomplished through sacrifice and tenacity. Jade carries powerful significance in the Chinese culture, not only because of its beauty, but more importantly its meaning and humanity. I now hold my Mother’s jade pendant in my hands and her immeasurable generosity of spirit, her virtue, wisdom, and unending loyalty and devotion sing the anthem of her enormous and courageous soul that will resonate forever in my heart. Everything I am today and have accomplished, I owe to my Mother. She IS the beauty of my Jade Pendant in a most powerful, multi-dimensional, sacred way--my priceless jewel that reflects everything I stand for---characteristics that are a prerequisite to integrity, honor and excellence. ...I am honored that she was my Mother, the strong Goddess-Nurturer who gave me the gift of LIFE... Last week, I journeyed to the set of THE JADE PENDANT, filming my scenes in the movie and understood that my Mother’s spirit was at the core of my involvement in this project. The timing

of recent events - in conjunction with this fine quality film adaptation--were indeed a message from the Universe. My Mother will always be my most sacred teacher and I am honored to cast the Light of my sacred gem (from her life journey and trajectory of her Jade Pendant) as an inspiration to this fine movie project, THE JADE PENDANT... And so the noble truths and the profound teachings of Beauty, Love and Light--all that which inspires and uplifts the Human Spirit is continued in perpetuity...My Mother and her sacred Jade Pendant will live in my heart forever. Thank you to all my dearest friends and members of my clan----who so generously gave of your kindness and heart to my sweet Mother. For those who have been kind enough to send your lovely thoughts, flowers, and to attend this service, my family and I thank you a THOUSAND folds for your thoughtfulness and care. May her spirit now in full radiance return all your love and may she bestow upon you all her blessings in reciprocity so that the precious gift of Love is now complete--in an eternal full circle of hope, love and compassion. In the final analysis, when all is said and done, it is one thing alone that conquers all and that which immortalizes our existence here on earth: LOVE. Love transcends all, aspires to all things and unites even loved-ones divided by the physical boundaries of mortal existence. I still vibrantly feel my Mother’s love all around me--she is transcendently everywhere and I am so blessed to know the greatest blessing she gifted me with-LOVE; then, now and forever... 67 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM ♥ December 2015
