The lack of good visual representations on manhole-access covers in the town of Limassol was thought as an interesting opportunity to suggest an alternative way to redesign these covers. The case came from the fact, that these existing covers are aesthetically dull and automated which has as result the ignorance of them, by citizens. Even though their initial usage is functional, the absence of an artistic approach is noticed on their surfaces. Manhole access covers are considered one of the many invisible typographic and visual elements in the city of Limassol. As a result, the opportunity of a brand new image of the city was needed. Using the tool of city branding, a series of illustrations were created, which represent the city itself. Both Cyprus's folklore culture and Limassol’s characteristical elements were combined for the production of the visual results. The harbor, the carob, the water tower were some of the many beauties of Limassol I brought into play.
