2 Bit Radio: Listen music and find 2 Bit Radio tickets Could you give us some background information on the individual members of the band? How did you all meet and begin writing and performing together? Sure. Ted is the singer and music producer of 2 Bit Radio (Musical Group). He is from LA, he met his pal Armen at a record store and they have both been in bands together since they were teenagers. I met Ted in 2011, I’m also from LA and immediately had a passion for his music. We started dating and worked on putting the band together for 2 Bit Radio in 2011. We found Mike living in SD a guitarist from Chicago in various bands moved to San Diego to pursue music entertainment. We also found Anthony the drummer in San Diego after our original drummer Kyle left the band to pursue his career in Radio. What is the significance of the band’s name? Ted came up with the name years ago. It’s an older term used for money as well as computer data. Two bits were 25 cents back in the day. That amount used to be significant not so much now. In the music world there’s a lot of 2 bit music out there. Significant one day and fallen from ears the next. At the end of the day we just liked it for the band name. Better than “the knuckle heads” haha Tell us a bit about your upcoming record; what is it titled and when can fans expect to hear it? We have 2 songs done so far “Satellite” and “these are the good old days” we plan to write a few more for the album. We may even remake an old fan favorite from the last album ” Beverly Baller” We will wait to name the new album until the whole project is ready. Can you tell us anything about the songs that will be featured on this new record? This album is going to have a funk to it that wasn’t in the last album. We also have Eric Racey mixing the songs, and his work is fantastic. Do you have any tour dates or live performances lined up for 2015? Currently no tour dates for this year. We are still writing songs for this 2nd album. When this project is ready we will focus on touring. We played 44 shows after “Dirty Time was released and we plan on doing it again when this album is ready. Could you tell us about a few of the most exciting or interesting live performances you all have been a part of as a band? There have been several exciting and interesting performances. It’s always a blast for us performing when family is present or supporting a big name band. Like when we opened up for Ever Clear and when we opened for a Flock of Seagulls music we know and loved but the most exciting performances are the ones we don’t expect to have a crowd but turns out to be a packed house. We are looking forward to producing our first music video this year and will hopefully get our songs licensed. A record deal would be fantastic too.
