The Tigers Challenge is a professionally organised festival that brings together U7 - U15 boys teams and U13 & U15 girls teams from all over the UK for a fantastic weekend of rugby. Every aspect of the game, its safety and ethos will be upheld to the highest standards and the festival will be organised in accordance with the guidelines and regulations of the RFU. Participating teams will have the opportunity to compete against clubs from different areas of the UK. The group stages of the festival will take place on the Saturday with the final group standings determining whether teams go on to compete in the Tigers Challenge Finals, Shield or Bowl on the Sunday.
Over 8000 people participated in the 2013 Tigers Challenge and following the huge demand and fantastic feedback from our teams, we’re delighted to be extending the festival in 2014 to enable even more teams to join us. We’ve added a new festival at Butlins Bognor Regis in the School Easter Holidays and we’re delighted to be adding girls sections in the U13 & U15 age groups at the Minehead April festival.

From current superstars to legends of the game, every player gets to meet a celebrity guest at the presentation. FESTIVAL INFORMATION AND TERMS & CONDITIONS HOW TO BOOK 1. Make a Provisional Booking - Call ESF Events and we will reserve your club a place for 2 weeks free of charge.
TEAM ENTRY FEES There are no Team Entry Fees to enter the Tigers Challenge. All costs involved with staging the festival are included in the accommodation charges.
2. Register Your Club - Complete and return the Club Registration Form with the Registration Deposit of £250 per age group. You will then be sent a receipt of entry and your accommodation booking information. The £250 deposit will be taken off your final accommodation balance.
WRISTBANDS You will be allocated one wristband for each member of your party booked through ESF Events. Please be aware that people without a wristband will not be able to participate in the festival, attend the presentation ceremony or enter evening entertainment venues at the holiday centre.
3. Book Accommodation - Once the club are registered you will be sent your accommodation booking information. This will enable you to book accommodation with an accommodation deposit of £30 per person. Butlins will acknowledge your booking and notify you of the final balance due. 4. Pay Final Balance - The final balance of your booking will be due 8 weeks before the festival. FESTIVAL FORMAT The U7 - U10 age groups at the Tigers Challenge will be played under the RFU ‘New Rules of Play’ Guidelines. The U11 - U15 age groups will be played under the RFU ‘Age Grade Rules’. Friday - No rugby is played on the day of arrival. Accommodation units will be available from 4pm but teams can arrive on resort from Midday and use the facilities at Butlins. There will be a full evening entertainment programme on the Friday. Our welcome meeting for coaches and party leaders will take place on Friday evening. Saturday & Sunday - The group stages of the Festival will take place on the Saturday with the final group standings determining whether teams go on to compete in the Tigers Challenge Finals, Shield or Bowl on the Sunday. The festival format may vary depending on the number of teams registered in each age group. The celebrity presentation ceremony will take place on the Sunday evening. Monday - Monday is the departure day. Check out of accommodation is 10.00am but you do not have to leave the resort until Midday.
ACCOMMODATION IMPORTANT: Accommodation for your whole party, including players, families, coaches and supporters, must be booked through ESF Events. If members of your party do not book their accommodation through ESF Events, the team may not be permitted to participate in the Tigers Challenge. The only exception to this is ‘local’ teams who are invited to participate in the Festival to ensure the best possible format in each age group. Accommodation will be allocated strictly on a first-come first-served basis. If you select a particular size or grade of accommodation which is no longer available, you will be offered the nearest alternative. Accommodation will always be available once your registration has been accepted but we cannot guarantee your first choice of accommodation. The ‘child’ rate is for ages 2-14 years at Butlins. Infants under the age of 2 years are free of charge if you bring your own cot or you can hire a cot at a charge of £10. For full terms and conditions of the holiday resort please also refer to www.butlins.com and the 2014 Tigers Challenge Accommodation Booking Information. MINIMUM OCCUPANCY OF UNITS Half board room prices are based on a minimum of 2 paying guests sharing a unit. Half board apartment prices are based on a minimum of 4 paying guests sharing a unit. Self catering prices are based on a minimum of 4 paying guests sharing a unit. MINIMUM OCCUPANCY SUBSIDIES In cases where minimum occupancy of a unit is not reached as detailed above, a full subsidy will be charged. The minimum occupancy does not include infants under the age of 2 years.
SUPERVISION: ADULT TO CHILD RATIOS At least one responsible adult over the age of 21 must occupy each unit of accommodation. A minimum adult to child ratio of 1 to 2 is required for your party by Butlins. INSURANCE The Tigers Challenge 2014 is covered for ‘Public Liability’ insurance by ESF Events. However, this does not cover individual teams or ‘person to person’ public liability, personal accident or injury whilst attending the festival. We strongly recommend that all participating teams, if they are not already covered, should take out insurance cover for these risks. CANCELLATION If you cancel your booking due to illness, accident or change of circumstances, and if you have taken insurance cover, payments for accommodation arising from the cancellation may be covered. Registration Deposits will not be refunded for cancellations. As soon as you need to cancel you must call ESF Events on 01664 566360. Cancellation charges are calculated from the day ESF Events receive written instructions to cancel a booking. EVENT ORGANISERS The Tigers Challenge is organised and staged by ESF Events Ltd (Company Registration Number 7695303) BEHAVIOUR & CONDUCT WHILE ON TOUR It is the responsibility of the Group Leader and adults in the party to ensure the behaviour of all members of your party is acceptable at all times at the festival. Clubs will be charged for any damages caused by members of their party. In extreme cases
of unacceptable behaviour, the Resort Management & ESF Events reserve the right to terminate a holiday whereby part or all of a team/club may be required to leave the premises without refund. FORCE MAJEUR We do not accept liability for any loss, damage or expense arising from a change or cancellation to your tour which occurs due to unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control and that of our suppliers. Such events would include, for example, war, threat of war, riots, civil strife, pandemics, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, fire or adverse weather conditions, natural or nuclear disaster, decisions of RFU’s or similar events beyond our control. BROCHURE ACCURACY To the best of our knowledge, all information in this brochure is accurate at the time of print. Please be aware that there may be occasions when the facilities listed in this brochure are modified or unavailable due to factors beyond our control. DATA PROTECTION ESF Events will use the personal information that you provide to process your booking and provide your tour. We may also need to pass your information to third party service providers such as Butlins. It is your responsibility to inform members of your party what information about them you are providing, and what we will use it for. FINANCIAL PROTECTION As a member of the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT), an Association approved by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, ESF Events has provided a Bond to meet the requirements of the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 (PTR). This Bond provides security for and is restricted to monies paid by its UK customers in the event of ESF Events’ insolvency. Although not required under the PTR, the bond will also protect prepayments for accommodation only bookings made by UK customers. N.B. Accommodation bookings for ESF Events Festivals at Butlins are not covered by this Bond as payment is made directly to Butlins for the accommodation.

To register your team for the Tigers Challenge, an initial deposit of £250 per age group is required. This deposit is non-refundable should you cancel your booking.
