Estival 2011
In addition to the main concert programme, there are many other informal concerts and events happening this year. All FREE admission Film screenings Screening of student Film Music compositions and “Sound Design” projects will take place at 12.30pm, every day in the Estival Bar.

Evening Concert 7.30pm University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra – Shostakovich 5 Mussorgsky – Night on a Bare Mountain Glazunov – Violin Concerto (violin – Catherine Landen) Shostakovich – Symphony No. 5 Conductors – David Scott and Tom Wood Estival 2011 is brought to a stunning close by the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra playing Shostakovich’s masterpiece, his Fifth Symphony. Steeped in controversy, this work has provoked more scholarly attention than most, as “A Soviet Artist’s Response to Just Criticism”.

Now in its second year in operation, the Estival Bar returns to serve you a variety of alcoholic and soft drinks throughout the festival.
