Escape Martensville: Season 2: August 20th - September 21st

A dark and ancient curse has fallen over Martensville. Long before memory, when the world was young and the stars still whispered to the earth, a treasure was worshipped on the altar of the old gods - a trio of sapphire and jade gems, said to hold the breath of death itself. As legend forewarned, as long as the trio of gems remained at the altar, the curse was bound and lay dormant. Generations passed. Empires rose and fell, but the curse remained hidden beneath the ruins of the ancient kingdom, safe with the trio, protected by the gods.

As fate would have it, all warnings were forgotten by time. A band of treasure hunters unearthed the altar, removing the gems from beneath the ruins of Martens Keep. They thought they had struck gold, but they didn’t know something had been awoken. Now, the shadows grow longer, and one by one, these treasure hunters are being claimed, not for what they did, but for what they took.

As the curse spreads, strange things begin to stir. Crops wither beneath a full moon. Children speak in voices not their own. And in the dead of night, something moves in the city streets, something ancient, something watching, something not of this world. Some believe there is nothing to fear, that it is just trickery being played. They say that this isn’t a curse or the wrath of some old gods. They say that the old gods do not exist.

They are wrong. The god’s ancient curse is not about justice for stealing an ancient treasure. It is vengeance. And vengeance must be stopped. This is your task: find the trio of gems, unite them at the altar, and save us.

Though the treasure hunters have brought chaos with their recent discovery, they left behind their research and ancient texts. Using these texts found throughout Martensville, you will be able to solve the clues, locate the missing gems, and find the god’s golden altar. Reuniting the gems may be our only way to save Martensville from the old gods’ wrath and restore balance to the world. Good luck. Escape Martensville begins August 20th.

RockyRidge Model RailRoad Club

Our club is small, but we are an enthusiastic and growing group interested in model railroading. We are especially motivated in sharing our hobby with our local community and other communities across the province. We take our layout to major shows all over Saskatchewan and Alberta. We like meeting and interacting with families and especially enjoy seeing the children’s reactions. The kids like to share in the fun as we let them blow the train’s horn, run the trains for a moment and otherwise enjoy model railroading as much as we do. Club meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month from September to June. We welcome new members any time. For more info, please call Dave at 306-229-1022.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. AA meets every Thursday at 8:00pm at the Heritage Centre located at 415 6th Ave S.
