The National Organization of Professional Black NRCS Employees (NOPBNRCSE) celebrates their Annual Outreach & Ag Education Expo on December 6-8, 2013 at the Atlanta Airport Marriot Hotel 4711 Best Road Atlanta, GA, 30337. This year’s theme of “Emerging Minority Landowners to Promote and Empower the Future Generation to Save Rural America” highlights the uncertainties which small farmers and landowners are encountering due to the none passage of the Farm Bill Legislation. 2013’s Ag Education Expo offers farmers and other interested individuals a venue to express their opinions and concerns for the passage of Farm, Food and Job Bill Legislation to help retain stability in rural communities according to Winston County Self Help Cooperative Member, Jean Harper. “WCSHC

members utilize a cross section of services and financial assistance through USDA Programs to generate income and improve life in rural America. We appreciate this opportunity to share with service providers and identify possible solutions in delivering needed services in a time manner. Rural Americans are integral partners in reviving our economy by producing durable and perishable goods for consumers to purchase. This process creates jobs, taxes and dividends which cause the America’s economy to spiral upward. However, rural communities are in dire needs of infrastructure repairs, health care access, transportation, and education programs to become competitive in mainstream America. We need rural Americans to help usher and advocate passage of the new farm bill.”
