This Halloween, Finley Farms South residents will not only be giving away candy, but giving away diapers. And canned corn. And deodorant too for the second annual Halloween Food Drive.

You can help by setting out and giving a few food and new personal hygiene products on Halloween. Please use the enclosed flyer on your garage door or front door to let us know where to pick it up on Halloween night!

Come on out as neighbors and Finley Farms South residents will be enjoying hamburgers and hot dogs, brats and bounce houses at the tot lot park off of Columbus.

No reservations are required.

Spend some time enjoying the fall weather and catching up/getting to know your neighbors at our big fall event of the year!

Finley Farms residents and young adults/teens from Evident Life Church in downtown Gilbert will be helping us with the collection for Open Arms on Halloween night between 6-9pm.

We had a fun date night/movie night in the park October 8 watching The Martian.

DID YOU KNOW? Wall repair and maintanence is our number one expense and seems to be a never ending cost/ job. The Board is looking for ways to minimize costs and resolve the issue long-term.

Our free Fall BBQ in the Park is coming up on November 5 from 11:00am to 1:00pm We will be having bounce houses, live DJ, brats and burgers as in past years. Come on out and bring the family for this annual event!

ANNUAL DUES-SLIGHT INCREASE COMING Our annual dues have not gone up in years as we have carefully managed to negotiate contracts and lower costs for legal expenses and overdue fines. However, we need to replenish our reserves and do more wall repairs. You will receive a letter with more details.

FINLEY FARMS FOOD DRIVE - HALLOWEEN NIGHT PUT THE ENCLOSED FLYER ON YOUR DOOR/GARAGE DOOR So we know where to pick up items or if we should knock.

Open Arms is the only agency of its kind in the Town of Gilbert providing food and clothing to the homeless and less fortunate. Currently over 1,500 people per month are being assisted.

WHAT TO DONATE? – Please see the list on the back of the enclosed flyer.

Items especially needed at this time include canned soup, rice, canned beans, snack items, holiday food items, new hygiene products (such as full-sized shampoo, soap, deodorant), tuna and cereal.

Not home on Halloween night? You can: 1.) Use the enclosed flyer. Write on the flyer where we should find the donated items. Attach the notice to your front door or garage door where we can see it Halloween night.

2.) Drop items off at the collection point in the tot lot park off of Columbus, North of Warner Road, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm or…

3.) Leave them with a neighbor and we will pick them up!

Open Arms provides supplemental food and clothing to those in need regardless of age, race, religion, or national origin.

Once collected, flyers should be removed from doors so others do not knock there.

is now picked up on Thurs. mornings and should be put out WEDNESDAY EVE or in the morning.

BULK TRASH is picked up the week of the third Monday of the month. NOT the third week of the month.

People putting out bulk trash before the Saturday night prior will be fined.

CURRENT WALL REPAIR We are currently working on ways to preserve our walls and/or continuing to re-stucco and repair/rebuild/repaint walls throughout the community. At the last Board meeting, the Board discussed more permanent solutions since wall repair is the ONE MOST EXPENSIVE ITEMS WE SPEND HOA DUES ON. Homeowners are now 100% responsible for any damage they cause common walls after the first warning. Overwatering or sprinkler overspray destroys the cement in the blocks the wall is made of, causing stucco to fall off.

Please check your irrigation and sprinklers now that summer is coming to an end.

BULK TRASH AND PARKING IN THE GRANITE We are continuing to have issues with landscapers and residents missing the bulk trash pickup or putting items in the street too early before bulk trash day, as well as parking in the granite which is forbidden.

Tree branches and trimming may not be put out early by landscapers. You are responsible to keep everything out of sight behind your gate until the Sunday before the third Monday of each month. We realize that at times bulk trash pickup does not come until much later. We have made formal complaints to the town.
