Judy took a call from a customer who was in Utah from California with her husband who was being treated for cancer. While traveling they needed service on their Subaru. Since it was the Saturday before a three-day weekend we were going to have their vehicle for an extended amount of time. Judy understood what it was like to be far from home and the feeling of being stuck and so did what she could to get the customer into a loaner despite having limited resources on Saturday. In the process, Judy learned it was also the husband’s birthday and decided to send them a Grub Hub gift card so that they could get dinner. Though it was a deeply personal and relatable experience for Judy - her taking action and sharing of her own resources is not abnormal for Judy -she embodies the Core Values of Treating Everyone like Family and Care for People.

The service department here is excellent. I'm regularly in Salt Lake and recently had an issue with the infotainment screen in my '23 Outback while on a long road trip. When I called at 8am, I was immediately given an appointment within the hour. Bri in the service department quickly took care of an update for the infotainment system without any issues. This is the second time in a month where the service department came through last second. Before this, they got me a roof rack crossbar 5 minutes before they closed on a Saturday. Excellent customer service. I'll return here every time I'm in Salt Lake.

Subaru of America, Inc. and participating retailers hosted the 16th annual Subaru Share the Love Event this past holiday season, donating more than $250 million to charity since the inception of the event! Customers who purchased or leased a new Subaru during the event selected between four national and over 1,700 hometown charities to receive a donation.
To celebrate the 2023 Subaru Share the Love Event, Mark Miller Subaru partnered with two of our Love Promise charities, Girls on the Run 5K, and the Granite Education Foundation. It was an honor to support their missions of delivering hope. With the help of our customers, we raised $174,635.00 for our two charity partners! These donations will help inspire girls across Utah to embrace their inner strength, make meaningful connections, and activate their limitless potential and will also help reducing barriers to learning and increase access to opportunities for students and educators in the Granite School District.

In an effort to foster biodiversity and enhance the natural beauty of Salt Lake County, Mark Miller Subaru initiated a “Seed Bombs” project. We distributed seed bombs packed with native plant species to our customers, encouraging them to join us in this green endeavor. This project aimed not only to beautify our surroundings but also to support local wildlife by providing essential habitats and food sources. By involving our customers in this initiative, we hoped to spread awareness about the importance of native plant conservation and inspire a community-wide effort to help native species flourish across Salt Lake County.
OUR BIGGEST WRAPPING PAPER RECYCLING EVENT
Mark Miller Subaru celebrated Earth Day with a significant commitment to environmental conservation and wildlife protection by donating $10,000 to HawkWatch International. This donation underscores our dedication not only to our community but also to the preservation and well-being of raptor species throughout Utah. HawkWatch International plays a crucial role in monitoring and protecting these majestic birds, and our contribution supports their vital research, education, and conservation efforts. By partnering with such a dedicated organization, we aim to ensure the health and diversity of our local ecosystems, safeguarding a natural heritage that future generations can enjoy and cherish.
Following the holiday season, Mark Miller Subaru, in partnership with TerraCycle, embarked on a wrapping paper recycling initiative to address the environmental impact of holiday waste. Together, we collected over 100 lbs of wrapping paper, offering a sustainable disposal option that diverted this waste from landfills. This initiative highlighted our commitment to environ-mental stewardship and encouraged our customers to rethink waste and recycling practices during the festive season. By providing a recycling solution for wrapping paper, we aimed to minimize our ecological footprint and promote a culture of sustainability within our community.

February 17 was Random Acts of Kindness Day, and Mark Miller Subaru staff and local Subaru Ambassadors rolled up our sleeves to help our friends at Granite Education Foundation, our 2023 Subaru Loves to Help partner. Following a successful Souper Bowl of Caring food drive in Salt Lake City, Granite Education Foundation received thousands of pounds of donated food that needed sorting to prepare for school pantries, family meal packages, and student weekend food kits. Each program receives specific food items, so it’s a huge job sorting through all that donated food to get it into the correct program for distribution to the kids and families in need served through the Granite Education Foundation. About 20 of us spent a few hours sorting through as much food as possible to lend our help and support, dressed in our Subaru Loves to Help t-shirts. The need is real. 1 in 7 Utah kids, which equates to 142,000 children, are unsure where their next meal will come from. Luckily, organizations such as Granite Education Foundation are helping close that gap through free food programs. Granite Education Foundation works to improve educational outcomes, academic success, and wellbeing of each student in the Granite School District Community, with a particular emphasis on supporting students at risk of not graduating. Some of their programs include food assistance, student aid, backpacks and school supplies, classroom grants, and Santa sacks. Without Granite Education Foundation, the thousands of students they serve wouldn’t have access to food, school supplies, clothing assistance, and the season Christmas presents that the organization provides. In addition to lending our help during Random Acts of Kindness Day, Mark Miller Subaru hosted a sock collection drive for our staff and customers to donate socks that will be distributed to the underserved and unsheltered kids served through Granite Education Foundation. In total, we collected over 500 pairs of socks to donate. That was above and beyond the 1,000 pairs we donated to Volunteers of America, Utah to support our unsheltered neighbors during Subaru Loves to Help month. May 12th, 2023 marked the first annual Granite Education Foundation Teacher Appreciation Fair. Even though teaching might be a revered profession among the public, teachers are constantly met with increased workloads, stress, and sometimes, opposition. Alleviating the immense burden on Utah educators is a massive lift, but Granite Education Foundation, in partnership with Mark Miller Subaru, has been working hard to ensure Granite School District teachers know they are valued in their work in and outside the classroom. The Teacher Appreciation Fair (featuring Teacher Sweep) was born out of necessity but has taken on a new and improved mission. Providing a fun, carnival-like atmosphere for teachers to receive free stuff, prizes, and connect with partners who care about the education profession. Mark Miller Subaru generously contributed to this exciting event by sponsoring a food truck voucher for the first 100 educators who were in attendance! Not only did they underwrite this event, but Mark Miller Subaru also provided gift cards to any educator who could sink two out of four cornhole bags and let teachers tap into their creative side by bringing their Art Car! 306 educators attended the Teacher Appreciation Fair and a total of 45 prizes were given, including 2 $1,000 classroom makeovers! 88 unique schools/departments were represented with 72 entire pallets of donated material being made available to all the teachers in the Teacher Sweep. This material included scotch tape, Joann’s donations, paper, scrapbook supplies, computer monitors, stuffed animals, laundry detergent, and more! “Granite does an exceptional and amazing job to make us feel appreciated, needed, and valued. I am so grateful to work in this district. Thank YOU!” -Granite School District Teacher An event to appreciate teachers isn’t easy, but it was made much easier with Mark Miller Subaru’s involvement.
Mark Miller Subaru is delighted to have made a meaningful charitable contribution of $30,000 to Volunteers of America, Utah, supporting the ‘Recovery on Redwood.’ This life-saving program, announced on September 21st, 2023, marks a significant milestone in providing essential services in Salt Lake City for individuals grappling with homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges. The ‘Recovery on Redwood’ has introduced a transformative facility in the Glendale neighborhood, featuring 50 beds for detoxification and offering counseling to 981 additional community members, with the potential to impact an estimated 6,954 Utahns annually.

During the “Make a Dog’s Day” event, Mark Miller Subaru did more than just host an exciting day; they generously donated $11,000 to CAWS. This significant contribution was more than just a donation; it was an investment in hope, futures, and wagging tails. Armed with this support, CAWS was able to adopt out some wonderful dogs, each with their unique stories, all hoping for a new chapter: Junie - Junie came to us from a high kill shelter in Texas where the dogs are in an overcrowded kennel with no climate control. They euthanize rapidly due to space. She was adopted and returned because the adopter could no longer care for her properly. She was in foser for 6 months until she was adopted by a great fit at the event! JupiterJupiter was found as a stray in Sevier county. He was severely matted and needed a lot of TLC. He is super loving, and. very active and energetic and just wants a family to take him on adventures and play. He found that at the event. Willie - Willie was one of our longest residents in foster. He is a typical hound and needed a family that know the benefits of having a hound in the family. He is a great adventure buddy and will vocally show his appreciation. He finally found a wonderful permanent home at the event. Addie- Addie also came to us from the high kill shelter in TX. After she arrived, we found out she was carrying puppies! She had her litter in a wonder ful foster home. The puppies have also found wonderful homes. And now it’s Addie’s turn - she has been fixed so she will never be and just live her life of pure enjoyment with the new family she found at the event! In essence, Mark Miller Subaru’s event was not just about cars and fun; it was a day where many furry lives were changed for the better.

Mark Miller Subaru, in partnership with all Subaru dealers along the Wasatch Front, proudly made the inaugural Barktoberfest a reality, presented by the Humane Society of Utah and Subaru, on Sunday, October 8th. This spooktacular celebration was a tremendous success, featuring carnival games, a Halloween costume contest for both dogs and their human companions, a variety of food trucks, and local craft beer. Attendees also enjoyed photo sessions with The Photo Box Photography, capturing the festive spirit of the day. The event was a family and dog-friendly gathering, welcoming guests of all ages, kids under 18 joined for free. This memorable day not only celebrated our love for pets but also strengthened the bond within our community, showcasing the true spirit of togetherness and fun.

One of the most heartfelt examples of this commitment is our ongoing partnership with the Volunteers of America, Utah's Youth Resource Center. Every month, a dedicated team of our employees visits the center to provide a warm, nutritious dinner for over 50 kids who rely on the facility for support and shelter.This initiative is more than just a meal; it's a gesture of care and solidarity with young individuals who are facing challenging circumstances. Our team members not only prepare and serve the food but also take the time to engage with the youth, offering them companionship and a listening ear. On a sunny Saturday, the energetic team at Girls on the Run Utah was buzzing with anticipation. Their eagerly-awaited 5K celebration was about to begin. In the midst of the excitement, a vehicle emerged, unlike any other, announcing the arrival of Mark Miller Subaru. This wasn't just any vehicle; it was the iconic Mark Miller Subaru Art Car. A canvas on wheels, the car was designed to become a living testament to the power of community and the spirit of youth. It was ready to welcome the creativity of the young participants and their contributions would soon transform it into a kaleidoscope of color and imagination. As the Art Car took its place at the event, children gathered around with awe. Invited to leave their mark on this unique mobile canvas, they added doodles, messages, and dreams with enthusiastic strokes. The Art Car was rapidly transformed into a vibrant mural, each stroke echoing with laughter and excitement filling the air. The Art Car embodied Mark Miller Subaru's commitment to the community and their dedication to empowering young girls. The colorful car, like a beacon of positivity, was a visual representation of this extraordinary bond. The Art Car, which was not merely a hit but the star attraction of the day, infused the event with an additional layer of excitement, making the day truly memorable. March is Mark Miller Subaru Loves Diversity month, and Girls on the Run Utah is so thrilled to be working with them this year as a Love Promise/Loves Diversity partner to create and promote the space for belonging and by working toward a more just world where everyone is celebrated as equal. To kick-off Mark Miller Subaru Loves Diversity month, our staff here at Girls on the Run visited both the Midtown and South Towne stores on International Women’s Day (March 8) to hand out free HerSHEy’s chocolate bars to all the Mark Miller Subaru staff. March is also Read Across America month, a month that encourages youth across the nation to engage in reading. In honor of this year's “Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers” book theme, Mark Miller Subaru donated the book Dream Street by Tricia Elam Walker to over 100 Girls on the Run teams throughout Utah. The book highlights a caring community that supports and celebrates the diverse dreams of everyone on their street. Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization that inspires 3rd-8th grade girls of all abilities and backgrounds to be joyful, healthy, and confident. At an age when girls need it most, Girls on the Run provides a safe and inclusive space for girls to truly be themselves. This spring, Girls on the Run coaches will be reading the book with their teams and participating in an activity for girls that prompts diverse perspectives through the eyes of others. After the season, each team's book will be donated to the school library or local classroom so more children can have access to diverse stories like Dream Street. More than a running program, Girls on the Run weaves the importance of community throughout its lessons by empowering each girl to use her talents and strengths to make her own community shine brighter. Like Girls on the Run, Subaru knows that diversity makes us all stronger and is dedicated to investing in the development of our youth through avenues such as reading. Together we can show love and respect to everyone, while celebrating the diversity and uniqueness that makes our shared communities so remarkable. Appreciating Teachers Inside and Outside the Classroom

May 12th, 2023 marked the rst annual Granite Education Foundation Teacher Appreciation Fair. Even though teaching might be a revered profession among the public, teachers are constantly met with increased workloads, stress, and sometimes, opposition. Alleviating the immense burden on Utah educators is a massive lift, but Granite Education Foundation, in partnership with Mark Miller Subaru, has been working hard to ensure Granite School District teachers know they are valued in their work in and outside the classroom. The Teacher Appreciation Fair (featuring Teacher Sweep) was born out of necessity but has taken on a new and improved mission. Providing a fun, carnivallike atmosphere for teachers to receive free stuff, prizes, and connect with partners who care about the education profession. Mark Miller Subaru generously contributed to this exciting event by sponsoring a food truck voucher for the rst 100 educators who were in attendance! Not only did they underwrite this event, but Mark Miller Subaru also provided gift cards to any educator who could sink two out of four cornhole bags and let teachers tap into their creative side by bringing their Art Car! 306 educators attended the Teacher Appreciation Fair and a total of 45 prizes were given, including 2 $1,000 classroom makeovers! 88 unique schools/departments were represented with 72 entire pallets of donated material being made available to all the teachers in the Teacher Sweep. This material included scotch tape, Joann’s donations, paper, scrapbook supplies, computer monitors, stuffed animals, laundry detergent, and more! “Granite does an exceptional and amazing job to make us feel appreciated, needed, and valued. I am so grateful to work in this district. Thank YOU!” -Granite School District Teacher An event to appreciate teachers isn’t easy, but it was made much easier with Mark Miller Subaru’s involvement.

Bringing Warmth and Support: Mark Miller Subaru’s Touching Gesture to Cancer Patients

A little less than a week ago, I had the incredible opportunity to join my fellow Mark Miller Subaru employees on a special mission. Our goal was to deliver soft, cozy blankets to cancer patients in need at the Utah Cancer Specialist, Intermountain Medical Center. As someone who would often visit my mom at the same hospital, this act of kindness really hit home for me. I was beyond grateful to be a part of this heartwarming endeavor, knowing that we were providing comfort and support to those facing such a challenging journey. With the support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society® and Utah Cancer Center, Mark Miller Subaru embarked on a mission of compassion. During the month of Subaru Loves to Care®, we proudly donate a total of 160 blankets to cancer patients. Each blanket represented a warm embrace and a tangible symbol of our commitment to stand by their side. As we made our way through the hospital corridors, the smiles on the faces of the patients lit up the room. It was a humbling experience to witness their gratitude and resilience. Each interaction served as a reminder of the strength and courage that these individuals possess in the face of adversity. The simple act of delivering a blanket may seem small, but the impact it had on these patients was immeasurable. It provided them with a sense of comfort, both physically and emotionally, during a time when they needed it the most. It was a gesture of solidarity, letting them know that they were not alone in their ght. It is through acts like these that we can uplift spirits, bring hope, and remind each patient that they are surrounded by a community that cares deeply for them. As I look back on this experience, I am lled with immense pride to be a part of a company that is truly committed to making a difference in our community, not just during this special mission, but throughout the entire year. Working at Mark Miller Subaru, I am grateful to witness rsthand the profound impact we have on the lives of others.

Shoutout to our friends over at Mark Miller Subaru who really made this holiday season one for the books for a bunch of awesome kids at a local Title One school. The Utah Jazz teamed up with Mark Miller Subaru to pack holiday sacks full of goodies, and let me tell you, we didn’t hold back on the cheer! Each sack was loaded with holiday essentials and topped off with the cutest Jazz bear plushie you’ve ever seen. It was all about bringing smiles and a bit of extra warmth this winter to a local title one school. Overall our teams came together to stuff nearly 300 sacks that gave students a holiday that they wouldn’t have gotten without them. But the real magic happened when we got to hand out these sacks. The team from Mark Miller Subaru was right there with us, bringing so much energy and fun during the assembly we hosted for the students. We brought in the Jazz Bear, which, as you can imagine, was a total hit with the kids! We had an unforgettable day lled with laughter, high- ves, and loads of happy faces. I can't express enough how grateful we are to Mark Miller Subaru. Their dedication and heart really made this event something special. It's one thing to talk about community spirit, but these folks live it, and they're making a real difference. Big thanks again to everyone at Mark Miller Subaru. Here's to more amazing collaborations that put big smiles on little faces. You guys rock!

2023 Suba Bleu Scramble
Last year we hosted our 28th Annual Suba Bleu Scramble in September 2023, a customer appreciation golf tournament and fundraiser for our participating charity partners. This is one of our favorite events, as it brings together our business partners, customers, and nonprofit partners. We host a variety of ways for our charity partners to win donation money at the tournament and are proud to have donated over $12,000 during this tournament! Tour Utah with Subaru Bleu is a 72-hour adventure race, with over 100 checkpoints throughout all of Utah kicked off at our Make A Dogs Day Event at Mark Miller Subaru South Towne. This past year over 300 racers kicked off the event for a chance to win $5,000.
Checkpoints consisted of different tasks, such as volunteering at local charities, visiting local businesses and being a tourist at local attractions such as National and State Parks--all while snapping pics with their own personalized Suba Bleu.

The system noti es the Guest Experience team by chat anytime a particular part is received for a customer and gives the GEE Team everything they need to reach out to the customer to schedule that part for pick up or installation. To my knowledge, Cody wrote and developed all the coding himself out a desire to make operations more ef cient for both teams and make the guest experience better.
