What are SEC’s activities? STAR Erasmus Consulting (SEC) offers consultancy services to organizations who wish to expand or improve their position internationally. Each project consists of three months of desk research, followed by approximately three weeks of field research.
As a consultant, you and your team of fellow consultants are responsible for the entire research. Throughout the process, you will be trained and supervised by a professional consultancy firm. Multiple trainings and a coach for each project are provided by Accenture.
The field research takes place in the country of the company’s choice. Every year the companies, the projects, and countries differ, so SEC offers different challenges every year!
This is the perfect way to combine your academic knowledge with a practical research approach whilst exploring the world of consultancy. After working hard on the research, there will be enough social- and teambuilding activities to make the consulting experience valuable for your social network as well.
Who are we looking for? We are looking for motivated and talented 2nd or 3rd year Bachelor and (pre-)Master students, eager to gain experience in consultancy in a professional, social and international setting. SEC will try to make sure that the project you are assigned to matches your interests and skills. For the desk research, you will work flexible part time hours (approximately 16 hours per week).

Desk research will take place from April until end of June. Additionally, you need to be available full time during the field research (end of June until end of July). Note that during the field research, you will most likely not be able to travel back to the Netherlands for several weeks!
So are you... • A student at the Rotterdam School of Management? • Available part time (flexible 16 to 20 hours per week) from April until June? • Available full time for around three weeks (end of June until end of July) in the country of the company’s choice? • Proficient in English (writing, reading and speaking)? • Highly interested in the consultancy world? Develop your skills Benefits for students As a student you get the opportunity to explore the professional consultancy world, while working in an internationally-oriented environment. It is also a great chance to gain professional research and consultancy experience. Enter in a great learning environment on which you will receive a high degree of responsibility while working on the project. On top of the three months desk research, you will conduct around 3 weeks of field research abroad (paid for by the company).

2. Application deadline
Application closes on the 4th of February, make sure to apply on time. Please note this will be our one and only deadline.
3. Interview rounds There will be two rounds of interviews. The purpose of the first interview will be to get to know you. In the second interview, you are expected to give a presentation about a consultancy case you have solved. The dates of the interviews will be announced later.
4. Congratulations! In March you will receive a call and know whether or not you are accepted.

More Information
Do the consultants receive a salary? The consultants do not receive a salary. They work on a voluntary basis to gain professional consulting experience. Nevertheless, the consultants will receive several benefits such as free training, free social activities, and a fully subsidized field research. With how many consultants do I work on a project? The number of consultants you work with depends on the workload of the project. It is common to work with 3 to 4 other consultants

When will I hear more information about the projects?? During the recruitment period, we will disclose hints about the projects through our social media accounts. Detailed information will be provided after you have been selected as an advisor and signed a non-disclosure agreement.
