Inspiration Trust Results Booklet 2022

After two years of disruptions and previous periods of remote learning, I am exceptionally proud of what every single pupil within Inspiration Trust has achieved this year.
We have seen outstanding exam results across all Key Stages and extremely impressive progress across the board.
I am delighted to say a number of our schools are celebrating their best ever GCSE results this year with Wayland Academy achieving 62% 9-5 grades, Cromer Academy achieving 60% 9-5 grades, and Hethersett Academy achieving 78% 9-5 grades across Maths and English, with an outstanding 10 pupils achieving straight 9s!
Across A-Levels we have seen similar success with Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form and Jane Austen College bucking the national trend with both A-Level providers achieving phenomenal results. At Sir Isaac Newton 48% of grades were A*-A, while at Jane Austen College 95% of grades were A*-C with 41% A*-A grades. Thomas Paine Sixth Form also achieved their best ever results with 80% A*-C grades with pupils at King Edward VII Academy due to be presented with awards from the newlycrowned King.
It has also been an exceptional year for our primary schools. Despite the challenges many pupils will have faced at the start of their school life as a result of the pandemic, the outcomes for Key Stage 1 and 2 have been phenomenal. In KS1, we have not only seen an increase in the percentage of children reaching Expected Standard across Reading, Writing and Maths, but in the percentage reaching Greater Depth too. A special mention must go out to Cobholm Primary Academy for its fantastic progress across all areas.
“ ”
I would like to say a big well done to all the pupils, teachers and parents for all of your brilliant efforts and I hope you can all join me in celebrating the array of fantastic successes from each of our schools over this last year.
Across KS2, we have seen our primary schools buck the national trend, with outcomes in Reading, Writing and Maths increasing, despite there being a decline nationally. This year, we have also seen the Reading Level across our primary schools increase by 7% against a national rise of just 1%.
As part of the Inspiration Trust, I am very pleased to be able to offer the children of our county a stand-out education that takes them from cradle right through to career. I hope you will join myself, my colleagues, and all our wonderful pupils in celebrating this year’s successes.

It was wonderful to join pupils, parents and teachers to celebrate our pupils’ results on the 25th August. I wish them well as they embark upon the next stages of their lives, and I am delighted that many will remain within our Trust sixth forms.
I am incredibly proud to share these Year 11 outcomes and individual success stories; they are a reflection of the determination our pupils have shown through previous periods of remote learning and uncertainty, to finally sit examinations that the previous two year groups did not have the opportunity to take. Our Year 11s reached that milestone - the important right of passage that marks the end of secondary education.
Hethersett Academy has achieved some truly exceptional outcomes with 90% of pupils achieving a grade 4 in English and Maths and 78% achieving grade 5 in both subjects. Wayland Academy celebrated its first set of examination outcomes since joining Inspiration Trust. In that time, their rapid improvements led to an impressive 25% increase in pupils achieving a grade 5 in both English and Maths. Cromer Academy also saw an increase of 26% in the 9-5 English and Maths measure since 2019.
Thetford Academy saw a 10% rise in their headline measures since 2019, and Jane Austen College improved to see 60% of pupils achieve a 9-5 in English and Maths, which is great news following their successful Ofsted inspection this year.
Pupils make strong progress across our Trust and achieve highly due to the quality of education they receive, and our knowledge rich, academic curriculum. Behind the overall results in every school are numerous individual success stories, representing hard work and perseverance from our pupils supported by committed teachers and staff. This is what our Trust strives to do - giving every pupil the opportunity to move forward in their lives with confidence, having a range of pathway choices before them.

Mansfield, Grace Xu and Isla Powell moving on to the prestigious Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form following a set of very impressive results. Isla is undoubtedly one of the most able mathematicians Cromer Academy has ever seen, while Isaac is one of only a handful of pupils UK-wide to have completed the entirety of Hegarty Maths!
Special mentions must also go out to Tom Dawson and Sugar Campbell-Willis who have both thrived while at Cromer Academy. Tom has done nothing but demonstrate the school’s core value of ‘hard work’ and his commitment to his studies has been exceptional. Sugar joined Cromer Academy in Year 10 and embraced the school’s way of doing things from the get-go and we know she will go on to do brilliant things.
Well done to all at Cromer Academy, it has been a fantastic year.
Praised by Ofsted for its ambitious curriculum, East Point Academy has created an environment whereby students can grow their confidence and skills alongside achieving great results.
• Grades 9-5: 41%

This year is no exception, with the school seeing an 11% increase on 2019’s results. Everyone at East Point Academy has worked incredibly hard throughout some very challenging times, showing real resilience and determination, ensuring no opportunities to learn have been missed.
2022 also saw East Point Academy inspected by Ofsted, where it was not only praised for its ‘ambitious curriculum that provides a good quality education for pupils’, but for ‘the clear routines for behaviour’ that have been set out. This inspection was monumental for East Point Academy and its community in Lowestoft, as it was the first time in the school’s history whereby it received a ‘Good’ rating in two consecutive inspections.
Students at East Point Academy consistently make excellent progress from their starting points, regularly placing their achievements among the best in the county. Great Yarmouth Charter Academy is a school built on respect, hard work and dedication. The school’s motto is ‘Sapientia Potentia Est’, meaning ‘Wisdom is Power’ and this is reflected throughout the school’s teaching, with a team who are committed to giving its students the best education in a calm and focused environment.
Great Yarmouth Charter Academy prides itself on successfully improving on a historic legacy of poor education within some of the most disadvantaged wards within the country. This has not only lead to the school being oversubscribed by first choices during the last two years, but has also enabled the school to support the majority of pupils living within the town and provide them with an excellent education.
This year the success has continued with 32% of Maths and English grades at 9-5, with every pupil achieving half a grade higher than their counterparts nationally in Maths. Many other subject areas also saw continued improvement, with some seeing their best results ever. For example, in French, Great Yarmouth Charter Academy saw a 9-5 pass rate of 92.6%, with each pupil achieving an average grade that was 1.63% higher than the average grade achieved nationally.

Looking at the overall grade profile of the school, Great Yarmouth Charter Academy has seen the percentage of 9-7 grades increase from 12% to 16%, the percentage of 5+ grades rise from 43% to 48%, and the percentage of 4+ grades climb from 47% to 65%! Such great results puts Great Yarmouth Charter Academy in a fantastic position to continue its success through its new sixth form - Sir Isaac Newton East (modelled on the Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form in Norwich).

From joining the school in Year 7 with average primary school SATs scores she has gone on to make phenomenal progress receiving a grade 9 in Art and Graphics, a grade 8 in Science and French and a grade 7 in English and Maths.
Praise must also go out to Jodie, who moved to the area in Year 9 and joined Hewett Academy with below national average SATs scores. She has been a fantastic role model attending every breakfast, lunchtime, afterschool and holiday revision session on offer. Jodie is leaving Hewett Academy with grade 5s in Maths, History and Science and grade 4s in English and Statistics. She has shown incredible levels of determination and is sure to go on to achieve great things at sixth form and university.
