Welcome

Norwich

Primary Academy is one of the largest primary schools in Norwich with approximately 350 children. We have two classes per year from Reception to Year 6. We believe that every child can reach their full potential and achieve excellent outcomes Our curriculum is both inclusive and ambitious: all of our pupils are entitled to a broad, balanced and knowledge-rich curriculum. Our curriculum has subject-specific knowledge at its heart with a clear focus on English and maths. The development of our pupils academically, morally, physically and socially reaches far beyond the walls of the classroom, but we also understand the importance of the knowledge our pupils learn, which will set them on the path to the happiness and success they deserve. To support children when learning to read, we teach phonics through the Read Write Inc programme, which gives them a strong foundation from which to understand written text

We offer an extended day for Years 3 to 6, providing free enrichment activities for children from the end of the school day through to 4.30pm, Tuesday to Thursday. These include cookery, music tuition, history club, drama, fun science, dance, football and more. We also have a nursery facility for younger children when families need childcare until 4:30pm. We have a large site with a huge outside area - including woodland for investigating the outside environment, a playing field for games and lots of play equipment for fun at break and lunch. I look forward to welcoming you to our school.

About our school Norwich Primary Academy is a large primary school in the west of Norwich. Our vision centres on achieving the very best results for our children, whilst providing them with a rich variety of extra-curricular activities, which ensure the children love coming to school. Our culture focuses on three key words, inspire, aspire and achieve. We ensure this happens through excellent teaching, an exciting and high-quality academic curriculum and providing a vast array of activities and experiences to inspire our children. We want to help our children to build independence, character, leadership skills and develop into aspirational young people ready to take their next steps at the age of 11. Our pupils achieve above national average in their phonics tests.

Our approach and facilities encourage play and exploration, allowing students to develop their independence and creativity. To further enrich children's learning, regular exciting trips and experiences support their teaching. Furthermore, we regularly invite speakers and experts to share their knowledge with the children.

We focus on English and maths, supported by a belief in traditional values Our children develop their reading, writing, and number skills every day to ensure they have strong foundations to build their knowledge of other subject areas Our curriculum also includes science, history, geography, religious education, art, and PE. All children at Norwich Primary Academy have a weekly music lesson which is supported by a music specialist. They also have the opportunity to learn an instrument or to take part in music enrichment clubs.
