Background Today, the SFMTA unveils the first of the initial five transit shelters to be installed by Clear Channel Outdoor. This shelter was designed by Lundberg Designs for Clear Channel Outdoor Inc. Today’s shelter boasts many features, including a solar roof that will power the shelter lighting and the NextMuni sign and accessible push-to-talk system. About 1,100 new shelters over the next five years will replace existing shelters. As many as feasible will be solar-powered. The five shelters will be installed at the following locations.
