New Features for Digital Signage + Scheduling Display
New Features for Zoom Rooms Digital Signage + Scheduling Display
By Esther Yoon Zoom Group Manager, Product Marketing
Zoom Rooms is Zoom’s software-based conference room solution, featuring video, audio, and wireless content sharing . As part of Zoom’s philosophy of continuously improving customers’ experiences, earlier this year two Zoom Rooms value-added services were released: Digital Signage and Scheduling Display . These services are available to all customers with a single Zoom Rooms license at no added cost .
Zoom Rooms Digital Signage allows organizations to share content on displays both in Zoom Rooms and in open areas like entryways . Since releasing this capability, organizations have deployed Digital Signage to display content such as company news, lunch menus, company branding, and sales leaderboards .
Zoom Rooms Scheduling Display runs on tablets placed outside of meeting spaces to help
organizations better manage room utilization . It allows users to see if a room is available or occupied, provides ad-hoc room booking, and offers a “check in” feature to keep the room’s schedule open if it is unused . Recent Zoom Rooms release includes enhancements to Digital Signage, providing customers with even more robust content control, as well as extended support for Scheduling Display, providing customers with more flexibility on hardware preferences . New Digital Signage Features:

Video upload: In addition to uploading image files and projecting web pages onto Digital Signage, you can now upload videos for display (supports MP4, MOV, AVI, and WMV formats) via the administration portal. A video can be played by itself or as part of a content list . Mute: Digital Signage has a mute option turn off content audio .
Schedule: You can now schedule content to run and retire on certain dates . This allows your signage admins to “set it and forget it,” instead of having to frequently upload and delete content .
Scheduling Display New Feature: Scheduling Display is supported on Android tablets (in addition to existing support for iPads). All of the above features are now available to Zoom Rooms customers .
If you’re interested in how Zoom Rooms Digital Signage and Scheduling Display can work for your organization, check out the video case study with Centrify (1:48 min). Speaking of the benefits of unified video communications and digital signage solution, Raun Nohavitza, VP of Information Technology at Centrify, says, “There is only one application to manage and if there are any updates to that application, it updates all of the feature sets that it controls [at once] . That way, I can deploy the same piece of software for the TV in the lobby, for my conference room, and use whichever features I find most appropriate for that space … It’s very corporate conscious . It’s very targeted to how businesses want to use their space – they want it to be flexible. Zoom really has a great concept of customer success . ”
