Designed by local clinicians, it is intended to speed up the provision of the different types of treatment required by the hugely divergent range of A&E attendees and is 30% bigger than the old department. It will also provide greater privacy for patients since each treatment room has a door and privacy curtain. Treatment for adults and children is completely separate, creating a much more child-friendly environment for families. The funding was lobbied for by the former Conservative MP for Croydon Central, Gavin Barwell and announced in 2015.
Your help required to speed up re-opening of Blackhorse Lane Bridge Back in October, Croydon’s Labour Council announced that Blackhorse Lane Bridge would not be re-opened until January 2020 at the earliest. The Labour Council, TFL and the Labour Mayor of London failed to understand the importance of Blackhorse Lane Bridge to local residents.
But thanks to local residents supporting the campaign by your local Conservative Councillor Jeet Bains, and supported by the Prospective MP Mario Creatura and London Assembly Member Steve O’Connell, we – together – forced action.
By joining the campaign from your local Conservatives to re-open the Bridge, rate relief is being offered to local businesses and there is now an action plan to re-open the bridge – which is detailed on the reverse. But YOU need to keep up the pressure on the Council to re-open the Bridge. So please sign the petition at MarioCreatura.org.uk/ blackhorsebridge to keep up the pressure!
