The newly developed TallyCard system is a flexible and user-friendly way of providing access control and measuring consumption A sound alternative When a marina, a harbour or a camping site sells electricity and water to its guests, a need quickly arises for individual payment for consumption.

Of course this can be arranged via a coin-operated system or meters, but TallyKey is now introducing a new system which makes payment easier than ever before: the TallyCard system, based on a transponder card.

Simple operation provides top class user-friendliness TallyCard is the simplest payment system imaginable: the guest pays in advance for a consumption which is coded into the card. The card can then be used for payment in the associated card readers, and no monitoring or reading is required.

Payment is made by inserting the TallyCard into the card reader.

The amount in the card is now displayed, and a sum for consumption is transferred. When the card is removed the display shows the sum available on this terminal.

It is now possible to use the terminal or the facility in question until the sum which was transferred has been used.

It is also possible to transfer bigger amounts by placing the card in the card reader a number of times. The transaction can be reversed by simply leaving the card in the card reader for at least 20 seconds.

There is no complicated operation, no buttons to press and no cryptic display texts to decipher. Anyone can use the system and it's impossible to make a mistake.

Another obvious use for the TallyCard system is access control. The card can be used to give specific persons access to particular areas or facilities. An additional benefit is that access can also be limited to particular periods of time (time-dependent access control).

PC program for administration The TallyCard system is accompanied by a user-friendly computer program for administration. This PC program allows you yourself to specify the sum to be transferred when guests insert their cards.

The program also allows you to specify the price per unit of consumption (e.g. the price per kilowatt-hour).

The access control function allows you to code into the card where guests are to have access, during what times, and for how long!

High technology under the surface makes the system robust and safe In contrast to other payment cards, the TallyCard has no vulnerable magnetic stripe or contacts with poor connections. The signals between card and the card reader are transmitted without wires and there is no risk of corrosion, even when the system is used in the harsh environment of a harbour.

The card reader itself is separate, i.e., there is one card reader per terminal, and the system thus functions entirely independently of "central units" or similar.

The guest's safety and security are the central concern with the TallyCard. Each card has its own unique code, providing protection against faulty use and misuse.

Once the card has been inserted into the card reader, the terminal is locked to this particular card and other users can then neither deposit nor withdraw money. This means that the wrong amount can never be paid by mistake. Money can also be credited back to the original card only, excluding the possibility of theft.

Flexible administration The TallyCard system can be administered in three different ways: 1. The guest pays a sum at the office and this sum is coded into the card.

Any surplus is refunded on departure. The office has to be manned during reasonable opening hours.

2. An automatic system is set up from which the customer can obtain a TallyCard of the desired value with coins, banknotes or credit cards.

On departure the system returns any unused amount when the card is inserted.

3. Personal operation, where the supervising staff are equipped with a portable terminal for coding of the TallyCard cards.

Suitable for TallyKey columns - and much more ...

The TallyCard is an obvious supplement to meters in the attractive and timeless TallyKey columns, but it can also be used as a stand-alone system in numerous different environments: payment for use of showers, washing machines, spa bath, sauna or solarium - only the imagination sets the limit.
