在纸被发明前，中国人用竹子、乌龟壳记录文 字。
两千多年前，中国人发明了纸。
最初的纸是用丝做的，因为太贵了，只有皇帝 和贵族能够使用。
一千九百多年前，蔡伦发明了造纸术。他找来 树皮、旧衣服、竹子、渔网等，把它们泡在水 里，然后煮成纸浆。
冷却后把纸浆倒进模子里，薄薄的一层，压走
水分，再晒或烤干，纸就造好了。
蔡伦成功了！他造出的纸很方便，也不贵。
现在人们使用机器造纸了，但是原理还是差不 多。
造纸术是中国四大发明之一，它推动了中国以 及世界文明的发展。
