In times of transformation the human being must learn to adapt to the new world view, which is not always an easy task. We need information from safe sources to go through this transition.

Aiming at the moment in which we live, where the woman gains more and more voice over herself and uses devices such as fashion, art, music and among many other things to put herself in front of society.

Focusing on that “No Rules” is born.

With the aim of empowering each woman by giving her more and more knowledge about their peers, with fashion, art and entertainment done by women and for women.

“No Rules” advocates gender equality, freedom of expression, diversity and learning through cultural means.

In this first edition the theme ‘Be Fearless’, is the main focus where we seek to spend the well being of being happy with what you, woman, is. Most of us do not feel good inside our own body, but this is starting to change, little by little the woman feels safer with her imperfections, we already have the first signs that the fashion will stop being followed and the need to follow in the footsteps of a confident and determined contemporary woman, well on her own body. And “No Rules” was developed to help in this process of future adjustment.

Enjoy every minute that passes between our pages. May every word and image make you believe in your strength and intelligence. You are powerful.

In tempi di trasformazione l’essere umano deve imparare ad adattarsi alla nuova visione del mondo, che non è sempre un compito facile.

Abbiamo bisogno di informazioni da fonti sicure per passare attraverso questa transizione.

E puntando al momento in cui viviamo, dove la donna guadagna sempre più voce su se stessa e utilizza dispositivi come la moda, l’arte, la musica e tra le tante altre cose per mettersi di fronte alla società in un momento da tutti, che “ No Rules “è nato. Con l’obiettivo di potenziare ogni donna dandole sempre più conoscenza dei propri coetanei, con la moda, l’arte e il divertimento delle donne e delle donne.

“No Rules” sostiene l’uguaglianza di genere, la libertà di espressione, la diversità e l’apprendimento attraverso mezzi culturali.

In questa prima edizione parleremo del tema ‘Be Fearless’, in cui cerchiamo di trascorrere il benessere di essere felici con ciò che tu, donna, sei. Molti di noi non si sentono bene all’interno del nostro corpo, ma questo sta iniziando a cambiare, a poco a poco la donna si sente più al sicuro con le sue imperfezioni, abbiamo già i primi segni che la moda smetterà di essere seguita e avrà bisogno di abituare a seguirla le orme di una donna contemporanea sicura di sé e determinata, bene con il suo corpo.

E “No Rules” è stato sviluppato per aiutare in questo processo di adeguamento futuro.

Goditi ogni minuto che passa tra le nostre pagine. Possa ogni parola e immagine farti credere nella tua forza e intelligenza. Sei potente.

Dopo un ricco 2017, che ha visto Patti Smith impegnata su più fronti nel nostro Paese, con eventi e manifestazioni a dimostrazione della stima ed il riconoscimento che l’Italia da sempre nutre nei confronti di questa straordinaria artista, Patti Smith omaggia il pubblico con un concerto-evento il 10 giugno all’Auditorium Parco della Musica di Roma.

Francesca Woodman was the daughter of artists George and Betty Woodman, born in the midst of art and a part of her all her life. As a child she went to the museums with her parents and falling love drawing women in elaborate ruffled dresses.

Art is a world where there are no limits and with all the information Francesca had, she was charmed by the art of aesthetics that her parents carried throughout life, which greatly influenced her work. During high school she showed interest in photography. Leading her father to give her an imitation of a Japanese RolleiFlex camera. In 1973 she attended the Rhode Island School of Design and there she knew that her medium was photography.

In Rhode Island she has developed a series of powerful photographs, where we see portraits of female figures in empty interior spaces.

Her work is usually in small format, which allows an intimate experience between the viewer and the photograph, this relationship conveys a sense of fragility and vulnerability to the outside world.

Although many photographs portray Francesca herself, they do not work as conventional self-portrait. But it uses its own image to explore gender representation and the relationship between the body and the environment.

Yet in Rhode Island she experimented with exposure time and camera shutter speed by manipulating light to capture the movement of her body. With this work she wanted to show that one can not see the inner strength of a body.

Francesca Woodman era figlia degli artisti George e Betty Woodman, nati in mezzo all’arte e parte di lei per tutta la sua vita. Da bambina andò nei musei con i suoi genitori e in quelle visite le piaceva disegnare donne con abiti elaborati pieni di balze.

L’arte è un mondo in cui non ci sono limiti e con tutte le informazioni che ha avuto Francesca, è rimasta affascinata dall’arte estetica che i suoi genitori hanno vissuto per tutta la vita, cosa che ha fortemente influenzato il suo lavoro. Durante il liceo suscitò interesse per la fotografia e suo padre le diede un’imitazione di un RolleiFlex giapponese. Nel 1973 ha frequentato la Rhode Island School of Design e lì sapeva che il suo mezzo era la fotografia.

In Rhode Island ha sviluppato una serie di potenti fotografie, in cui vediamo ritratti di figure femminili in spazi interni vuoti.

Il loro lavoro è solitamente in piccolo formato, che consente un’esperienza intima tra lo spettatore e la fotografia, questa relazione trasmette un senso di fragilità e vulnerabilità al mondo esterno.

Anche se molte fotografie ritraggono la stessa Francesca, non funzionano come un autoritratto convenzionale.

Ma usa la propria immagine per esplorare la rappresentazione di genere e la relazione tra il corpo e l’ambiente.

Eppure a Rhode Island ha sperimentato il tempo di esposizione e la velocità dell’otturatore della fotocamera manipolando la luce per catturare il movimento del suo corpo. Con questo lavoro voleva mostrare che non si può vedere la forza interiore di un corpo.

After finishing her college in Rhode Island, Francesca moved to Italy living in Rome for a year, where she performed a series of photos with eel and her body in contact with the medium. Invoked always by the representation of the female body in art.

On January 19, 1981 at the age of 22 Francesca Woodman committed suicide. She produced about 10,000 negatives that are now under parental care. There are more than 800 impressions and only 120 of them have been published or exhibited until today. Her photos have no titles, so they are known by the location and the date they were taken.

Her work was recognized after her death with several individual exhibitions in the main museums of the world.

Francesca was very sensitive and at the same time courageous and very committed to art. What she did was ahead of her time. And you can not let the tragedy of her personal life overshadow the intensity of what you see in her art.

Dopo aver terminato la sua università a Rhode Island, Francesca vive a Roma, in Italia, per un anno, dove ha eseguito una serie di foto con anguilla e il suo corpo in contatto con il mezzo. Invocato sempre dalla rappresentazione del corpo femminile nell’arte.

Il 19 gennaio 1981, all’età di 22 anni, Francesca Woodman si suicidò.

Ha prodotto circa 10.000 negativi che ora sono sotto la tutela dei genitori. Ci sono più di 800 impressioni e solo 120 di esse sono state pubblicate o esposte fino ad oggi. Le tue foto non hanno titoli, quindi sono conosciute dal luogo e dalla data in cui sono state scattate.

Il suo lavoro è stato riconosciuto dopo la sua morte con diverse mostre individuali nei principali musei del mondo.

Francesca era molto sensibile e allo stesso tempo coraggiosa e molto impegnata con l’arte. Quello che ha fatto è stato prima del suo tempo. E non puoi lasciare che la tragedia della tua vita personale oscuri l’intensità di ciò che vedi nella tua arte.

MG: From your early years of Feminist Militancy to the present day what have you noticed of change in relation to the diversity of bodies?

AA: Great question! Today, women who have been described as the beauty of society, are recognizing themselves as non-commodities, are resisting more, compared to women 20 years ago when I started my feminist militancy. We have made a lot of progress, but women’s bodies are still seen as goods and are still used to sell various products.

MG: What is a beautiful body for you?

AA: A beautiful body is a body where when looking in the mirror it says “I am happy”. All bodies are beautiful because we are talking about people, women, so she can be fat, thin, have cellulites, stretch marks, tattoos, breasts with silicone, small breasts, none of that matters, beauty is in the happiness of being who you are. “Imperfections” on a woman’s body like stretch marks, cellulites, scars are what tells her story.

MG: For you the Plus Size fashion is a great achievement?

AA: Absolutely! The Plus Size fashion is a big win. That I would like it to be more and more present and better developed. In Brazil we don’t have that many stores dedicated to Plus Size fashion yet.

But I would like to see this representation of diversity of bodies everywhere, in a more affordable way, with price options. But it’s a start, a move forward and people are talking about it.

MG: How does Fashion impair a woman’s self-esteem?

AA: The typical fashion image, the beauty image that the minority of women has, sometimes are even unreachable beauty, with use of Photoshop in photos of models that no longer represent most of the female figures in the world.

And this is a very big problem, because girls and women from all over the world are looking for a perfection that often not even the photographed model has. And then we see problems like anorexia, depression, bulimia, bullying in schools. All due to a unachievable, wrong image construction.

MG: How can fashion help build self-esteem?

AA: That’s a interesting question.

Fashion can help by understanding the diversity of bodies. Producing clothing for real women, women who are the majority in the world.

Creating an environment where we enter a store and are happy to find pieces that we can use that will be our size. Without feeling humiliated and dissatisfied by the body we have. And thus opening space for representativeness, for a world that knows how to celebrate the differences.

MG: You as a feminist woman can see yourself 100% happy with your body?

AA: As a woman and a feminist I have no problem being fat, having cellulites and stretch marks.

I have some health problems that force me to have a more restricted diet, so losing a few pounds is inevitable. But for aesthetics yes I am 100% happy with my body.

MG: What advice would you give to a girl who is discovering her body now and does not feel represented by the media?

AA: We are all beautiful, every body is beautiful! Because a body is a temple, it is sacred, it is ours. Resist and wear clothes that she feels good, be happy with your body so that society understands that there is no right or wrong body. There are only different bodies.

MG: Dai tuoi primi anni di femminilità alla Militanza fino ad oggi che cosa hai notato del cambiamento in relazione alla diversità dei corpi?

AA: Ottima domanda! Oggi, donne che sono state descritte come la bellezza della società, si riconoscono come non-merce, resistono di più, rispetto alle donne di 20 anni fa, quando ho iniziato la mia militanza femminista. Abbiamo fatto molti progressi, ma i corpi delle donne sono ancora visti come merci e sono ancora usati per vendere vari prodotti.

MG: Che cos’è un bel corpo per te?

AA: Un bel corpo è un corpo dove quando si guarda nello specchio si dice “Sono felice”. Tutti i corpi sono belli perché parliamo di persone, donne, quindi può essere grassa, magra, avere cellulite, smagliature, tatuaggi, seni con silicone, piccoli seni, non importa, la bellezza è nella felicità di essere chi È. Segni sul corpo di una donna come smagliature, cellulite, cicatrici sono segni che raccontano la sua storia.

MG: Per te la moda Plus Size è un grande risultato?

AA: Senza dubbio! La moda Plus Size è una vittoria. Vorrei che fosse sempre più presente e meglio sviluppato. In Brasile abbiamo uno o un altro negozio fisico dedicato alla moda Plus Size. Mi piacerebbe vedere questa rappresentazione della diversità dei corpi ovunque, in un modo più accessibile, con opzioni di prezzo. Ma siamo già in anticipo ne stiamo parlando.

MG: Come fa la moda a compromettere l’autostima di una donna?

AA: La moda veste un’immagine di bellezza che la minoranza delle donne ha, a volte sono anche bellezza irraggiungibile con l’uso di Photoshop in foto di modelli che non rappresentano più la maggior parte delle figure femminili nel mondo.

E questo è un grosso problema, perché le ragazze e le donne di tutto il mondo sono alla ricerca di una perfezione che spesso nemmeno il modello fotografato ha. E poi vediamo problemi come anoressia, depressione, bulimia, bullismo nelle scuole. Tutto a causa di una costruzione dell’immagine sbagliata.

MG: Come può la moda aiutare a costruire l’autostima?

AA: Fashion può aiutare comprendendo la diversità dei corpi. Produrre vestiti per donne vere, donne che sono la maggioranza nel mondo.

Creare un ambiente in cui entriamo in un negozio e siamo felici di trovare pezzi che possiamo usare che saranno le nostre dimensioni.

Senza sentirsi umiliati e insoddisfatti dal corpo che abbiamo. E così aprendo lo spazio per la rappresentatività, per un mondo che sa come celebrare le differenze.

MG: Tu come donna femminista puoi renderti felice al 100% con il tuo corpo?

AA: Come donna e femminista non ho problemi ad essere grassa, ad avere cellulite e smagliature. Ho alcuni problemi di salute che mi costringono ad avere una dieta più ristretta, quindi perdere qualche chilo è inevitabile. Ma per l’estetica sì, sono felice al 100% con il mio corpo.

MG: Che consiglio daresti a una ragazza che sta scoprendo il suo corpo adesso e non si sente rappresentata dai media?

AA: Siamo tutti belli, ogni corpo è bello! Perché un corpo è un tempio, è sacro, è nostro. Resistere e indossare vestiti che si sente bene, sii felice con il tuo corpo in modo che la società capisca che non esiste un corpo giusto o sbagliato.

Ci sono solo corpi diversi.

“Do women have to be naked to get into U.S. museums?�

The Guerrilla Girls artist group was founded in 1985 in response to the Museum of Modern Art of New York (MOMA), of which 165 artists recognized by MOMA only 13 were women.

Female artists with the same indignation united anonymously in order to jointly think about the place of women in art. Each member of the group has acquired the name of an artist of the past. They identified themselves as masked avengers.

They consider anonymity important so that the focus remains on the issues in which they discuss and to preserve they’re individual careers.

Each artist discusses her views on feminism and the feminine according to her references. Guerrillas Girls focuses on their world which is art, especially in New York.

Their first work was a poster in which they exposed the amount of individual exhibitions of women held in 1985 in New York. 30 years later, in 2015, they’ve updated this poster and the numbers increased. In addition to pointing out defects they also want to find a way to change people’s minds. Using statistics and good humor as allies.

Il gruppo di artiste Guerrilla Girls è stato fondato nel 1985 in risposta al Museum of Modern Art di New York (MOMA), di cui 165 artisti riconosciuti da MOMA solo 13 erano donne.

Guerrillas Girls participated with posters that emphasized this issue.

In 1988 they released a work titled “The Advantages of Being a Female Artist” and caused a stir in the art world. Everyone stared to wonder about the issue they raised. In one of their many appearances the question ”Can art speak for itself or should it have a gender identity?” was brought up to they’re attention. And they’re response was ”All aesthetic decisions have values involved ​​ and whether these decisions are always made by the same people mostly billionaires art collectors who lead the art world today are not building a history of art but a history of power.

Today the Guerrillas Girls’ Work is inside museums and institutions that they questioned and criticized, they are part of collections and exhibitions. But gender inequalities within institutions still exist.

Nel 1989 hanno confrontato il numero di donne nella sessione di arte moderna del MOMA e anche il numero di uomini e donne nudi e il risultato è stato un poster che diceva “Le donne devono essere nude per entrare nel Metropolitan?”. Questo stesso poster è stato aggiornato nel 2005 e nel 2012.

Nel 2005 la Biennale di Venezia ha avuto per la prima volta due curatrici. Le Guerrillas Girls hanno partecipato con poster che hanno sottolineato questo problema.

Nel 1988 pubblicarono un lavoro intitolato “I vantaggi di essere un artista femminile” e fecero scalpore nel mondo dell’arte. Tutti iniziano a interrogarsi sui problemi che sollevano. In una delle loro molte apparizioni vengono fuori la domanda “L’arte può parlare da sola o dovrebbe avere un’identità di genere?” La loro risposta è stata “Tutte le decisioni estetiche hanno dei valori in gioco e se queste decisioni sono sempre fatte dalle stesse persone per lo più collezionisti d’arte miliardari che guidano il mondo dell’arte oggi non stanno costruendo una storia d’arte ma una storia di potere.

Oggi il lavoro delle ragazze guerrigliere è all’interno di musei e istituzioni che hanno messo in discussione e criticato, fanno parte di collezioni e mostre. Ma le disuguaglianze di genere all’interno delle istituzioni esistono ancora.

1- She was born on November 30, 1946 in Belgrade, in ancient Yogoslavia.

2- His parents Danica and Vojo Abramovic were war heroes, linked to communism.

3- When Marina was born her mother had sepsis and went to Switzerland to treat herself and thus lost part of the first year of her daughter’s life.

4- With the end of the war Danica, Marina’s mother, studied arts and was responsible for monuments and public works of art.

5- As a teenager, Marina had, like her mother, huge migraines. And she spent 24 hours lying in bed suffering, to deal with the pain she trained to lie still in bed.

6-In 1965 Marina was accepted at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade.

7- At the academy she teamed up with 5 colleagues to discuss Art, they became ‘The Group of 6’ and she was the only girl.

8- In 1969 she made her first venture into conceptual art with the project “Come wash with me”.

9- One of the most important places for the beginning of his career was the SKC (Cultural Center in Belgrade).

10- At SKC she made one of her first sound installations.

11- His first performance series were titled “Rhythm.”

12- In “Rhythm 0” of 1975 she remained motionless in a gallery and allowed the audience to move her as they wished, using items available on a table, ranging from lipsticks and feathers to knives and a bullet loaded with a bullet.

Quando Marina 3- Sua madre è nata avuto la sepsi e sono andato in Svizzera per trattare Così se stessa e ha perso parte del primo anno di vita di sua figlia.

4-Con la fine della guerra Danica, la madre di Marina, studiò arti e fu responsabile di monumenti e opere pubbliche.

5- Nell’adolescenza Marina aveva, come sua madre, enormi emicranie. E ha trascorso 24 ore a letto sofferente, per affrontare il dolore che ha allenato a stare ancora a letto.

6-Nel 1965 Marina fu accettata all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Belgrado.

7-Presso l’Accademia ha collaborato con cinque colleghi per discutere di arte, sono diventati ‘Il Gruppo dei 6’ e lei era l’unica ragazza.

8- Nel 1969 ha fatto la sua prima avventura nell’arte concettuale con il progetto “Vieni a lavarmi con me”.

9- Uno dei posti più importanti per l’inizio della sua carriera è stato l’SKC (Cultural Center in Belgrade).

10- A SKC ha realizzato una delle sue prime installazioni sonore.

11- La sua prima serie di performance è stata intitolata “Rhythm”.

12- In “Ritmo 0” del 1975 lei rimase immobile nella galleria e il pubblico ha permesso di passare da lei volevano, usando gli articoli disponibili su un tavolo, che vanno da febbre a rossetti e coltelli e un proiettile con il proiettile caricato.

13- Marina never wanted to have children, she says it would be impossible to share her artistic sensations with a child.

14- At age 29, she makes a trip to Amsterdam where she meets artist Ulay. The two fall in love.

15- The first of many performances they did together was the “Relation of Body Space” at the Venice Biennale in 1976.

16- Marina and Ulay lived in a van for 3 years. And so they traveled all over Europe doing their performances.

17- The relationship wore off and in 1988 they made their farewell performance. Each one walked from one side of the Wall of China until they meet in the middle for farewell.

18- When Marina separates from Ulay she begins to worry more about external beauty. She buys lots of clothes, goes to the beauty salon, makes gym, uses lots of makeup. All to mask the sadness of separation.

19- She begins to insert ores and crystals into her work. Calls these materials “Transient objects”. The released energy would be a transit to a kind of meditative consciousness.

20- Marina traveled several times to Brazil to look for minerals and crystals. The documentary “Espaço Além”, shows her spiritual journey in Brazilian lands.

21- Marina’s first performance after Ulay. It was a series with snakes called “Dragons Head”.

22- She won the Golden Lion at the 1997 Venice Biennale for the performance “Balkan Baroque”.

23- Marina bought an old theater in the city of Hudson in the United States, which she plans to transform into the ‘Abramovic Marina Institute’ to preserve the art of Performance.

13- Marina non ha mai voluto avere figli, dice che sarebbe impossibile condividere le sue sensazioni artistiche con un bambino.

14- A 29 anni, fa un viaggio ad Amsterdam dove incontra l’artista Ulay. I due si innamorano.

15- Il primo di molti spettacoli che hanno fatto insieme è stato il “Rapporto del Corpo Spazio” alla Biennale di Venezia nel 1976.

16- Marina e Ulay hanno vissuto in un furgone per 3 anni. E così hanno viaggiato in tutta Europa facendo le loro esibizioni.

17- La relazione si esaurì e nel 1988 fecero la loro esibizione d’addio. Ognuno camminava da un lato del Muro della Cina fino a quando si incontrarono nel mezzo per Addio.

18- Quando Marina si separa da Ulay inizia a preoccuparsi di più della bellezza esteriore. Compra molti vestiti, va al salone di bellezza, fa ginnastica, usa molto trucco.

Tutti per mascherare la tristezza della separazione.

19- Inizia a inserire minerali e cristalli nel suo lavoro. Chiama questi materiali “oggetti transitori”. L’energia liberata sarebbe un transito verso una sorta di coscienza meditativa.

20- Marina ha viaggiato diverse volte in Brasile per cercare minerali e cristalli. Il documentario “Espaço Além”, mostra il suo viaggio spirituale nelle terre brasiliane.

21- La prima esibizione di Marina dopo Ulay. Era una serie di serpenti chiamati “Dragons Head”.

22- Ha vinto il Leone d’oro alla Biennale di Venezia del 1997 per lo spettacolo “Balkan Baroque”.

23- Marina ha acquistato un vecchio teatro nella città di Hudson negli Stati Uniti, che ha in programma di trasformare in ‘Marina Abramovic Institute’ di preservare l’arte di prestazioni.
