Sustainability & Green Technologies Industry Snapshot
Essential Industry Transferable Skills
Sustainability and green technologies are broad terms that describe the design and production of products and processes that have a lighter impact on the environment. Areas of sustainability include renewable energy, gies lo o n h construction, transportation, and c e t green environmental services, such as conservation, waste management, pollution control, and water treatment. While environmental protection is the primary reason behind the sustainability movement, other factors driving green technologies are economic development and job creation, national security concerns, and the moral obligation to provide a livable planet to future generations. In the coming years, workers at all levels will be in demand to fill jobs in sustainability sectors, and workers trained in green techniques will be more attractive to employers.
