Coventry is facing a major issue caused by the ring-road. It encloses the city center in this way causing a strong dissruption between the center and the rest of the city.
As the number of students is rising considerably each year, being concentrated mostly within the center, the residents are pushed away from it even more.
The new proposed urban strategy and the new central development is breaking this boundary with a minimal intervention, and at the same time, it keeps the rong road in place, without interrupting the vehicles traffic.
The urban structure of Coventry create open-air squares along its streets. These public pockets offer a wide range of activitie for residents. The city’s design principles can be simplified and constrained to four main components:
MAIN ROADS, AUXILIARY STREETS, URBAN SQUARES & EDIFICES

The main intervention of the whole development is to allow and encourage the natural interraction between residents and students. This is belived to be achieved by the blend of the ring-road with the newly proposed development.
The integrated functions would facilitate the interraction. Furthermore, the ground floor functions will be flexible and will be changing by the season, depending on the end user and its demands. For instance, during summer all the students based functions will be changed into residents targeted facilities.
The created public square offers a wide range of activities for all the age groups and interest groups.
Moreover, the volumes of the building create new, permanent streets. However, seasonal pathways, will be penetrating the volume seasonallly, leading the end user into its interior spaces, fading in this way the clear difference between the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Within this design many parameters are embeded. The main considerations are:
Sunlight and natural ventilation - The facades which have direct sunlight around the year, dictate the position of the functions that require warm and bright spaces.
Access points and circulation: The created shape allows multiple access points from any directions, Moreover, it links the both sides of the ring-road, establishing the interraction link between residents and students.
The new building generates public suqares arounf itself. All merged by a central public space which unites all the functions visually, becoming the soul of the whole development.
Serveice entrances and Noice pollution: The ring-road is located above the proposed building. It generates an irritating and noisy environment around the new proposed space. Transparent acoustic panels are proposed to mbe installed on both sides of the highqay. It will help isolating the noise, without obstractig the views.

An existing office (Dresde, DE) is to be renovated.
Initial concept sketches help clients to have a better understanding regarding all the taken design decisions - Here, the city must be replicated into the plan.
The circulation corridor representes the Elba river, which runs throughout the whole city and connects its all landmarks into one fluent city. Both ends of the corridor must seem endless, smae as a river is.
Along the river, the main landmark buildings will be highlighted into the focus rooms, where the concentrations must be at the highest level.
The open plan workspaces, must be treated as livly space that pushes to concentracion and interraction. Sophisticated patterns, nature pieces and calm colours will help enhancing the space overall concept.
The main landmark must be the core element that brings all of the colleagues togeher. Within this office, this space is represented by the breakout area.

Each office design starts with a concept hand-sketches. Here the thinking behingd the future layouts is stated. Then, functional concept layout and multiple furniture test-fits are proposed. Meanwhile, the local regulations are taken into consideration, as the proposals must comply with authorities’ demands. Later, the design finishes with highly detailed drawings which include Overview, Furniture Layouts, Electrical, Ventilation, Carpenters’ drawings, Bespoke furniture detailing plans. Various space and materials schedules are also part of the full pack drawings. Finally, presentation render image as shared with the end users..
