MASSIVE RHYTHMIC POROUS
EX MACHINA
50c MILKSHAKES WITH THE SWIRLY SWIRL
The up and coming town of Gowanus, New York, creates the perfect location in order to create a multi-cultural and generational residential space for users to create a community within that not only integrates humans but also other species like animals and plants. The study of a specific flower: Coleus that attracts hummingbirds in order for both species to thrive within the space. This project not only enhances the communal interaction but also takes in account a sustainable approach.
Geometry hierarchy could be thought out with the idea of a table in which its geometry can say a lot about the interaction intended. A squared table is intended for a more individualized activity like eating alone, while a round table is more about integration in a more equal manner. This is how the construction of the units were created having the private spaces rigid (cubed) while shared spaces were curved and round. As more units are being placed within the site, it results in the organic curvature to create more movement between the units.
Located in Rosario, Argentina- the neighborhood of La Republica de La Sexta is an underdeveloped neighborhood in which locals residents have taken upon themselves in order to create a sense of community and provide its community with resources in order to help one another. The very embedded history motto of “helping hand” has allowed for residents to create groups to help the area with food and education. This proposal indicates a space to provide a place for these groups to gather and create a “city within a city”. This community center will be the slow transition between urban and nature through its different layering of the landscape and the views that this pixelating space can capture.
A proposal for a multi-generational community center that allows for tourists and locals to create a gather of spaces inside and outside the streets of Rome, Italy. The blending of the already existing urban fabric with spread out spaces in which creates an opportunity for people to congregate and connect the spaces through their movement depending of the time of day. The appreciation of outdoor spaces through piazzas, parks, restaurants, and markets of the Roman culture and custom was needed to be implemented into the community center which allowed for a “campus” of buildings instead of a hovering large indoor space that interrupts the establish urban space that is already established.
A design for the ongoing Ukraine displacement to create a humane refugee environment that not only allow a space for living but a place for growing and learning. An interactive community through the rigorous playing and learning spaces. The proposed space is in between and within these container with minimal change to the original shipping container and interlock with its the overall land. Placing a combination of exiting and malleable interactive stations in between containers persuades kids to not only interact inside the spaces but mediate within both, the inside AND the outside.
Project was presented to the Ukraine government as a refugee camp possibility to be created as the refugee need for shelter increased during the summer 2022.

SPRING 2021 - Design 202
A project that concentrates into trying to understand how to connect transparency, absorbency, and flexibility together. The space is an addition to the Harlem School of the Art (HSA) that integrates music and dance with film.. It allows for the experimenting of sound proofing the building through layering of material as you go up while simultaneously playing with the idea of natural light control.
FALL 2020 - Representation
This is an analyzing of the camera movement of the movie “EX-MACHINA”. The location of the “mansion” that the movie was based in is a scattered individualized hotel named Juvet landscape Hotel in Valldal, Norway by Jensen & Skodvin. The project concentrates on joining the rooms together to show give the seamless transition from one room to another that the directors of the movie created a brand new space.
It was the study of the configuration of the mansion used in the movie. Including the basement level which was an integral part of the plot. The camera movement allows for multiple outputs that allowed for the process of elimination. The process of piecing the different rooms together can help understand where the movie could have started and ended.
Located in the Rockaways, NY, this community center that allows the exploration into the typologies of amusement architecture. Dating back to the incredible history that the Rockaways has endured, and connecting the space to its previous history with entertainment and amusement. The site take place in a flood zone which is predicted to be underwater by 2100. This brought the interest of bringing a combination of temporary and permanent structures which allowed us to bring life to a space that could encompass a campus of pavilion-like maker spaces and classrooms by combining the undulating EFTE canopy held by Cable trusses.
SPRING 2022 - Interior Design Elective
Delfa Wolfe, a fictional client who owns the children’s Argentinian store -cheeky- had asked for a remodel for their headquarter office. Inspired by the colorful streets and history of the city of la Boca in Argentina. Using the asymmetrical vibrant colors to be placed together throughout the space, resembles the time where the locals in Argentina used ship paint in order to create vibrancy towards its town. The creation of different color blockage for different programs allow the seamless transition that is interrupted and overwhelmed by the reception where all the colors meet, giving the space a playful and lively ambiance just like the streets of Argentina.
The light is specifically placed in order to showcase the artifacts of the company, not only giving importance to the site that the headquarter is in but also the company the space is for.
Fall 2021 - Construction Documents
Multi-generational Residential Units that allow for interaction with neighbors and heightens the importance of interaction with different age groups. This project is more focused on the idea that three different generations of families would be able to reside in the same building while still maintaining a sense of privacy.
