The subject of this Thesis is to investigate the design parameters and the methods of mapping the dystopic science fiction scenarios, into cinematographic products and videogames. An analysis and recording of the different aspects of space and architecture in imaginative and non environments with the political and social phenomena that trouble each time period referenced.
Initially, an analysis is made and dystopia is defined, through its relationship to utopia, in order to achieve a complete understanding of the dystopian thought and narrative that is presented below. Historical data are included and sociopolitical events that have influenced and shaped the viewpoint and beliefs of the creators of dystopian works. Then there is a correlation of dystopia with science fiction, with the definition and comprehensive analysis of the latter.
In the second part of the research paper, after analyzing the theoretical frameworks, the dystopian science fiction is analyzed and recorded in cinema and video games.
