20171013 - arriving 09:52 - deconstruct and sort - leaving 18:14 DISMANTLE AND SORT CLASSIFY PARTS FOR NEEDS CHECK STATE OF PARTS, CORROSION, TOLERANCE DON’T LOOSE SCREWS, EVERYTHING IN PLASTIC BAGS NOTE ORDER OF ASSEMBLING/DISMANTLE In this step of dismantling, we put to side all the parts that wouldn’t be needed anymore, concerning mostly all the electrical parts, pieces of the bodywork such as mudguards, side covers and crash bars. It also helps sort out the parts that need to be ordered and replaced. And it saves weight, obviously. Lighter = faster The parts are sorted out in categories, that will continue throughout the project. The parts are categorized because some of them become obsolete for racing purposes. This concerns mostly bodywork parts, electrical wiring and controls. TO KEEP: frame, swing arm, wheel hubs and fork, engine TO REMOVE: mudguards, fenders, back lights and flashers, side covers, headlight and blinkers, crashbars, mirrors, disk protection, horn TO REPLACE tank, seat, exhaust, controls, tires, spokes, carburetors, battery box and wiring harness
