Read the entire text of the operating instructions prior to the assembly and operation of the device. These operation instruction are intended to make it easier for you to get familiar with your device and utilize its intended possibilities of use. The operating instructions contain important notes on how to work safely and properly with your device and how to avoid dangers, save repair costs, reduce downtime, and increase the reliability and working life of the device. In addition to the safety regulations contained herein, you must in any case comply with the applicable regulations of your country with respect to the operation of the device. The instructions must be read and carefully observed by each operator prior to starting the work.

General Safety Rules        

Keep guards in place and in working order. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches before use of the device. Keep the working area clean. Don’t expose this devices to water to prevent rusting. Keep work area well lighted Keep children away. All visitors should be kept at a safe distance from the work area. Don’t force the device. It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Wear proper clothing. Do not wear loose clothing, neckties, rings, bracelets or other jewelry which may get caught in moving parts. Nonslip shoes are recommended. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair. Use protective gloves all the time you handle, feed with new material or hand crank this device. Protect your eyes and eyes of all visitors by safety goggles. Everyday eyeglasses offer only little protection. They are no safety glasses. Don’t overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Only use recommended accessories. The use of improper accessories may cause risk of injury to persons.


 Never stand on the device. Serious injury could occur if the device is tipped or if the cutting blades is unintentionally contacted. Never reach with your hand on the cutting blades without protecting glove. Never reach with your hand on the cutting blades if somebody else could cause intentional or unintentional movement of the cutting blades by any manner or if your standing position cant secure proper handling near cutting blades.  Check for damaged parts. Before further use of the device, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function.  Keep your safety in mind. Safety is a combination of common sense and staying alert as long as you operate the device.  Attention: This device has only been designed for shredding specific materials. The list of allowed materials are different for each model, for more information’s read this user manual in section Materials allowed for shredding.  Important: Mount and use the device on a horizontal surface. Be sure that force applied on the device through hand crank cant tip the whole object on which is the device mounted. This can cause serious injury.  Avoid hand positions where a sudden slip could cause your hand to touch the cutting blades.  Only one person can feed and hand crank the device at time! Never at any condition allow somebody else to feed the device with material when you hand crank the device and never feed the device with material if somebody hand crank this device. There should be never more than one person handling or operating this device at time ! This can cause serious injury.


Proper Use

The device meets the currently valid EU non machines directive. 

 

The manufacturers safety, operation and maintenance instructions as well as the technical data given in the calibrations and dimensions must be adhered to. Relevant accident prevention regulations and other generally recognized safety and technical rules must be adhered to. The device may only be used, maintained or repaired by trained persons who are familiar with the device and have been informed about the dangers. Unauthorized modifications of the device exclude liability of the manufacturer for damages resulting from the modifications. The device is intended for use only with original spare parts and original tools from the producer or recommended from the producer. Any other use is considered to be not intended. The manufacturer excludes any liability for resulting damages, the risk is exclusively borne by the user.

Remaining hazards!

The device has been build using modern technology and in accordance with recognized safety rules. Some hazards may still remain.

 The cutting blades poses a danger of injury to fingers and hands by improper feeding of material.  Danger of injury from thrown out material due to improper standing position, feeding or properties of shredded materials.  Although having regarded all considerable rules there may still remain not obvious remaining hazards.  Minimize remaining hazards by following the instructions in “Safety Rules” and in the entire operating manual.

FilaMaker XXL shredder units are build for the purpose of shredding this materials :  All thermoplastic materials below density 1.5 g/cm3 or 1500 kg/m3  Anything else with density below 1.5 g/cm3 or 1500 kg/m3 FilaMaker mini shredder units are build for the purpose of shredding this materials :  All thermoplastic materials below density 2.5 g/cm3 or 2500 kg/m3  Anything else with density below 2.5 g/cm3 or 2500 kg/m3
