The closure of Ditton Brook provides the oppurtunity for repurposing under utilised hydrological systems.

Interrupting the flow of Ditton Brook provides the opportunity for managed riparian wetlands downstream from the dam, which enhance habitat creation + provide a link to the River Mersey.

Water is redirected in to a constructed reed bed system. This provides a clean water resource which forms the basis for the repurposing of the brownfield test site to an ecologically and anthropocentrically diverse system.

IMPRINT

Hydrology is an unimagined element on the location; constrained, isolated, hidden and disposed of. The test site has the opportunity to be reprogrammed through hydrological changes - Ditton Brook release, Hale Bank angling ponds integration, groundwater, waste water and run-off capture to act as an innovator for RURBAN habitation and productivity.
