L to R: Marcia Pruitte Coleman, Trista Davis, Audra Bonds, Rosalind Greer, Marla Pruitte pose for the camera to celebrate their sisterhood journey. This group of phenomenal women continues to define what long lasting friendship means.
This is real, tried, and true friendship. Formed in innocence, tested by life, and proven eternal by love. In 2021 the sisters turned 50 years old, on the heels of a pandemic, just as we were trying to get back to what was once “normal”.
For years, we planned to do something together for our 50th birthdays in 2021, but those plans were changed by, well…life. However, this year we were determined to reclaim our time and celebrate the significance of our sisterhood.
finding love, and learning how to love deeper, committed to never giving up on one another.
We have always been very intentional about creating memories, relishing each and every moment, recognizing life is but a vapor. In this second half of our lives, we are living with no regrets, learning and recreating ourselves,
We have shared essentially our entire lives together, literally. Our parents consider each of us their daughters, and our children theirs too. We shared kindergarten through 12th grade together some at the same schools. Even though we were split up to attend different junior high schools, we all reunited in high school and we never lost our friendships. From sharing our “firsts” on the children’s phone line, to navigating high school; from creating the Nutty Bunch, which was essentially one of the “sororities” of our high school, to all of us attending college and joining the first and finest Sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
We have been there for each other through marriages, childbirths, divorces, relocations, even cancer. Our children’s relationships are extensions of ours, and they are just as close and consider themselves siblings. Make no mistake, we have hit some hard patches, sometimes we took breaks, but one thing for sure, we have always and will always remain sisters until the end.
There is no doubt that we chose each other in the beginning of time. These are our sisters, so “when you see her, you see me, when you see me, you see her”.
