Would you like to know the secrets to success in the Upper School? Parent/Student ‘Study Skills’ Evening Tuesday 22 January, 6:30pm–8:00pm @ Main Gym @ CDNIS During the early years of secondary school it is essential that students develop study habits that will promote academic success. This evening takes parents and students through these essential skills and how students can integrate these into their approach to school. Prue Salter of Enhanced Learning Educational Services (www.enhanced-learning.net) is committed to helping all students improve their ability to learn and study. Our aim is to give students strategies to unlock the power of their minds and help them become effective and successful learners. CDNIS parents and students are invited to attend the following Parent/Student Evening: TOOLS FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL SUCCESS The main areas that will be covered are: ! Managing homework and assignments effectively by efficient time management. ! Learning to be more organised for school and at home. ! Working effectively in high school. ! Making study notes and improving study techniques. Parents can expect to gain a greater understanding of tools students can use to help them achieve academic success and students can learn how to make the most out of their abilities through simple but effective techniques. The feedback from parents and students who attend this session is always excellent, so don’t miss out! Parent/Guardian(s) and students should attend together. As the session is very interactive, the session will not be of full value unless both the students and a parent attend. Both students and parents also need to bring along a pen and a highlighter each, and the school diary.
