Love is love
“Photography gives you the opportunity to use your sensibility and everything you are to say something about and be part of the world around you. In this way, you might discover who you are, and with a little luck, you might discover something much larger than yourself.”
Peter Lindbergh, page 19

Kate Moss for Vogue Italia
This month, Style Notes has been published with two different covers, Ugbad Abdi, photographed in New York, and Brigit Kos, photographed in Paris. Both photographs had been taken by Peter Lindbergh.
Love, just as photography,
is not always what it seems. Is much more than what people can see at first sight, and even more of what they can feel through it; to truly understand the existing love between two persons, you need to know their story, how they act when they are together and the relationship that unites them
- family, friends, lovers - the connection that only they share. Sometimes you can feel it and sometimes you simply can not understand what is going on between them. The same happens with photography, each photographer has their own style, their own preferences and takes photographs following their own eye. That is why we can understand what some photographers are trying to express with their photos or how the model feels, and some others that we simply can not understand what is going on. This month’s number is in memory of Peter Lindbergh, one of the most important photographers in the fashion world that has passed away this last month.
His life and trajectory have made his photographs evolve to the point where they convey emotions when someone looks at them and his usual use of black and white intensifies, even more, this feeling. His death will be a great loss for the fashion world. That is why, in his honour, Style Notes has decided to commemorate him with using as covers the two last photoshoots that Lindbergh has done with us. It is important to realise how precious every moment is, because people come and go without warning, but I guess, that’s life. So let’s live and appreciate everything that surrounds us.

Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams
Victoria and Albert Museum hosts the largest Dior exhibition, showing the house path throughout the years and the different creative directors.
The exhibition begins in 1947, when the Dior brand was founded, and ends today. Throughout the
exhibition, more than 500 objects are displayed to show the impact of the house with the “New look” silhouette and how it has changed with the years. In the exhibition can be found specific dresses that were made for celebrities or royalty such as the dress that Dior himself made for the 21st birthday of Princess Margaret, the Swarovsky crystal-encrusted dress made by John Galliano for the 2008 J’Adore perfume campaign worn by Charlize Theron, or some of the most exquisite dresses made for the Cannes festival.
The main difference between this exhibition and the one held in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris with the same title is that the one on the V&A Museum has a new section that shows the passion that the designer Christian Dior had for the British culture. One of the most outstanding lounge that the exhibition encapsulates will probably be “the fantasy of the ball”. This selection will show 70 years of the most impressive formal evening wear, showing the indubitable skill of the haute couture atelier and the Christian Dior’s vision of formalwear.
The exhibition will be in the V&A Museum until the 1st of January of 2020.
