• Every 9 seconds in the US, a woman is assaulted. • 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been physically abused by an intimate partner. • Domestic Violence is the main cause of injury among women - more than traffic accidents, robberies and rapes combined. • Everyday in the US, 3 or more women are murdered by their husbands aor boyfriends.

Everyday stress, insults and threats by the aggressor make the victim feel the threat of imminent danger. Pressão, insultos e ameaças do agressor fazem com que a vítima se sinta em perigo. VIOLENT ATTACK/ ATAQUE VIOLENTO
The aggressor physically and mentally abuses the victim; this abuse tends to increase in frequency and intensity. O agressor abusa fisicamente e mentalmente da vítima; este abuso tende a ser cada vez mais frequente e intenso. HONEYMOON PERIOD/ LUA DE MEL
The aggressor shows affection towards the victim, apologizing for the aggressive behaviour and promises to change. O agressor demonstra afeto para com a vítima, pede desculpa pela agressão e promete mudar o seu comportamento.
