Fashion, like any cultural phenomenon, cannot exist on its own. It inevitably reflects the current trends in society. A trend is characterized by representation of traces of the past. Trends are about tapping into a zeitgeist; they define a spirit or mood of the times. Successful designers have an eye for reading this.
Coco Chanel, byname of Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, (born August 19, 1883, Saumur, France—died January 10, 1971, Paris), French fashion designer who ruled Parisian haute couture for almost six decades. Her elegantly casual designs inspired women of fashion to abandon the complicated, uncomfortable clothes— such as petticoats and corsets—that were prevalent in 19th-century dress. Among her now-classic innovations were the Chanel suit, the quilted purse, costume jewelry, and the “little black dress.”

Fashion Deconstruction is a deliberate attempt to make a garment appear imperfect, a form of anti fashion statement when its come to fashion. Deconstructed Denim is when a garment has not been the way it is finished so you can expect to see raw edges instead of closed off seams.
