Concept design, parametric testing, 3D visualizations, Illustrations and Working Drawings
Goa, known for its pristine beaches and vibrant culture draws the attention of tourists while leaving it’s locals in search of entertainment.
In the office heavy Zone of Panaji, Acena will serve as a mean to keep the street safe through ensuring public survailance till late night and reduce loitering near the Heritage zone of Fountainhas. Introduction of a Mixeduse complex close to the creek Rio de Ourem will inrease connectivity and cater to the locals as well as tourists. The complex aims to provide oportunities and increase employment.
The complex also aims on dealing with the issues caused by the stagnation of water at the end of creek. The design guides the users through the complex. With seamless circulation in mind, the design focuses on sustainability and energy efficiency. With the vast views of Fountainhas the design is oriented and optimised to ensure breath taking views.

Site analysis, marking of hotspots, identifying major connecting networks to the site and studying the skyline of the context. Understanding the depth of the creeks and drawing inspiration from the existing bridges to understand the clear heights and other factors. Designing according to the bye-laws and accomodation of enough parking spaces in the basement was a challenge. Due to the site constraints the construction of more than two basements would prove dangerous, hence optimising the basement was crucial. Study of public movement patterns lead to the definition of two definite entries with no vehicular movement.
The design weaves through the site mimicking the mangrooves while ensuring enough space for the functions to take place. Mangroves act as natural barriers, reducing erosion caused by waves and storms. Their intricate root systems dissipate wave energy, protecting coastlines and inland areas. The mangroves play a vital part in the context and hence no tree was cut down to accomodate design needs.

Before Optimization
No flow of water in the creek gives rise the mosquito infestation and foul odours.
Channel introduction
Introduction of a small channel by removing a small part of the island to enable water flow.
Addition of Bridges
The unused island now becomes accesible and will be used as walkways and act as a space to showcase installations.

Sikkim known for it’s rich heritage and beautiful terrain very difficult to construct upon. The soil needs to be paid the utmost resoect while doing so.
Yangchen is an entry to Solar Decathlon India, the design aims to achive a net-positive energy output. Striving for self-sufficiency and more. The design uses locally sourced materials and traditional as well as modern techniques to reduce it’s cost. Enegy generation is optimised through the use of Hydro-turbines and Solar pv pannels.
Yangchen lays down on the terrain in a way which balances daylight and reduced cut and fill of the terrain. Conncetivity and universal accesibility was a major consideration for the design, ramps are placed at close intervals as a ramp connecting three levels would put too much load on the land. This results in a eco-friendly learning environment with the natural landscape.

The design aims to reduce excavation and laying the massing out in an optimised way. Ramps played a crucial role for universal accessibility while significantly saving the energy which would be dedicated to lifts. Due to Sikkim’s heavy rainfalls solar pv pannels are not ideal during monsoons. To combat this turbines were startegically placed in the major valleys of the terrain. Accesibility at three levels ensured seamless circulation for pedestrians, vehicle users as well as cycle users.

The design reimagines airport architecture by the integration of modern functionality, the heritage of Udaipur and user experience .
The design aims to convey the cultural essence of a space through architectural character. Achieving efficiency in circulation while abiding to the regualtion of design guidelines such as ICAO. Abundant daylight and breath-taking views were prioritized. A sunken high-street in the commercial area was introduced to mimic the effect of the famous stepwells of Rajasthan.
The design was optimised to bear the windloads of udaipur and the water-bodies and humidifier ensures thermal comfort during the peak summer. The roof is designed to optimise draining and provide a pleasant expirence for the passengers. Modern materials such as ETFE will enable the regulation of daylight and hence result in reduced energy-loads.

Work Experience
Geneis Architecture, a firm based in Bengaluru known for it’s wide range of architecture and landscape projects. During the period of my internship I got to work on the villa designs of a project named “Advaita eco-spaces” which is a large scale premium residential villa project located at Devanahalli, Bengaluru. Rendering, landscape drawing production, 3D modelling, parametric optimiztion, postproduction .etc were some of the works done during my one month as an intern.
