STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
I have consistently been enamored with how “Good design is actually a lot harder to notice than poor design, in part because good designs fit our needs so well that the design is invisible,”
― Donald A. Norman, The Design of Everyday Things
I spent 5 years of my college career imagining who the user and his requirements may be, then 2.5 years of that time in the professional sector implementing answers to real-world situations. As designers, we live for anticipating difficulties and determining the best course of action. Another aspect of the tale is making it seem and feel appealing. Since I've had the opportunity to work on developing acoustically sensitive places, being attentive to the needs of the users has always been the primary goal.
My experience in the design profession has led me to assume that two methodologies are used; thankfully, I have observed and participated in both types of processes. Because we are designers, we develop directly for customers, putting their requirements first. One approach is to prioritize the demands of the end user. However, not all or even the majority of firms in the country adopt this strategy since designers are more concerned with how their work would represent their particular design style or pattern, which causes all of the projects to look to be extremely similar to one another. When adopting this method, the client's demands are usually overlooked. That does not honor the role of designer. This strategy often disregards the client's expectations. That, as a designer, does not do the design task or the user justice. Because this is the standard way of seeing design or the work of designers. Only as a junior designer/project coordinator at a business where every procedure was developed or taken in the direction of where the customer is favored in all ways was I able to experience this. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to be a part of both worlds. This has just made me understand how differently it effects the way a project process is put up and how it is ultimately executed with a significantly higher success rate.
In 2020, I received my Bachelor of Vocations degree from Rachana Sansad College's Academy of Architecture department in Mumbai. This college is well-known in the field of architecture, and the college itself has a very innovative and design-oriented approach to projects. Being at a design school taught me how to look at things with the consumer in mind. I also saw the importance of a seamless delivery of engagement or the final result through my degree program and optional courses.
Before graduating from Bachelors University, I worked as an intern for a design and architecture business at the conclusion of a 6month program. I was engaged in creating final design presentations for client presentations and project execution, as well as some creative poster design for events hosted in the co-working area, rebranding for one of the projects, and space planning as needed. Working in a co-working atmosphere and witnessing people from all industries cooperate was what made this internship experience so valuable. I also had the opportunity to visit other intriguing companies where business/brand strategists and image consultants strive to help people improve through networking. Every project completed was evaluated by all team members. Following my internship, I was offered a position as a permanent team member at the same firm. Opportunities and responsibilities ultimately came my way, and I evolved into an efficient designer as a result. I was given a lot of autonomy and latitude when it came to talking with clients about the design process and results. I was able to see how networking aided businesses, as well as the design process and how things operated in the field from paper to real-life product.

DESIGN CONCEPT
BIOPHILIA + KINTSUGI
Kintsugi is the art of resilience. Its an ancient Japanese technique that repairs broken objects by enhancing their scars with gold lacquer. By embracing the flaws and imperfections, we create an everstronger, more beautiful piece of art.
This can be a metaphor for healing ourselves. It teaches us that by repairing broken things we create something more unique, more beautiful and more resilient.
BIOPHILIA
Nature in the Space. The direct presence of nature in a space in the form of plants, animals, water, breeze, scents, light, shadows, and other natural elements.
Natural Analogues. The representational presence of natural materials, patterns, objects, colors, and shapes incorporated into building design, facade ornamentation, decor, and furniture. Nature of the Space. The incorporation of spatial elements commonly found in nature such as expansive views, places of sensory refuge (such as a quiet and dark room that simulates a cave), and a mild sense of risk (like stepping stones over a shallow pond).
