Educational Background A First-Class Honours degree graduate from Queens University Belfast, she progressed on to The Mackintosh School of Architecture Glasgow, where she was awarded for the first time in its history, the Glasgow and RIAI Silver Medal, Royal Scottish Academy Architecture Prize and The Merchants House Bursary Award before becoming the youngest ever tutor to work at The Mackintosh School. Johann’s stellar academic success continued into her commercial life in one of the UK’s most challenging areas for a female architect to practice, succeed and truly make a difference. Her passion in promoting women in a male dominated profession sees her regularly lecture in both local universities as well as colleges and schools. MBE & Other Key Awards In 2017 alone she was honoured with an MBE, named Queen’s University Belfast Graduate of the Year, won the WICE award for Best Woman Architect in Europe, was STEM Rising Star regional winner and received a Civic Award for contribution to business. She is also one of a very select few who have the prestigious title of RIBA Specialist Conservation Architect.
