Kabini River

The Kabini River is a tributary of the Covery River in southern India. The river flows through Karnataka and Kerala and is an important source of irrigation, drinking and industrial water The basin covers an area of about 2,000 square kilometers and many villages depend on it for their livelihoods. It also serves as a habitat for many types of flora and fauna. The river has been designated as a National Park by the Government of India to protect its rich biodiversity.
