How did you get into fetish photography? I have always loved all forms of creativity including photography from a young age playing with disposable cameras through to early digital 1 megapixel cameras that made the tiniest awful images so it’s always been with me. I knew I wasn’t like the other kids from about 10 years old and I’ve loved rubber from a young age, so for me it was only natural I’d photograph the things I loved in the medium

I loved. It just happened that people started to like them and requested more so it slowly and surely took off from there, I never planned to be a photographer it sort of happened organically. What has been the best photoshoot you’ve done so far?  I think one of the most fun was a two day shoot for Mister B as the boys are so much fun and came all the way over with all the gear as they wanted the Manchester look, we used

an old factory and had to climb over fences and fight through bushes to get to the location and had a big group of models so the atmosphere was amazing. One of the most exciting was in Switzerland in a castle with some youths near by so confused, then we moved on to doing a kinky Red Riding Hood in the mountains on the edge of the Black Forest, during a super moon as a thunderstorm rolled in the distance, that was pretty magical!

Do you have a specific goal you would like to achieve in your career?  I guess I need to make my art more available to people, I have requests for prints, calendars, shirts and books now and then but I’ve yet to really do that, I

get too caught up in imagining things and day dreams that I move on and forget to do much with them afterwards. It’s great to see them exhibited and used for event posters and advertising but I had been approached about a book deal so I really need to follow that through. I’ve also got great intentions for some more specific set exhibitions around certain tales and legends but as many creatives will tell you, their brains jump all over the place that I’m such a scatter brain! What fetish do you most enjoy yourself? Absolutely rubber. The feel of it has always captivated me even before I found my sexuality, the power and transformation of it just makes my skin shudder. I wear it out on the street, to straight bars, to the gym, to weddings and for a while now only worn rubber underwear every day. I’m well and truly a rubber addict. But as I grew and got into the scene I have tried most things and love WS (wet rubber is amazing), chastity (at writing it’s been 18 weeks), control (I even have to fly in my chain) and much more, but I like it cheeky, cocky, rough and intense. Who do you look up to as a photographer and where do you draw your inspiration from?  I’m happy to call a lot of other fetish photographers my friends, it’s great to compare and see people’s styles grow and encourage each other, people think there is rivalry between artists but I shot with Matt Spike this year and we were like two drunken girls laughing so much. The Samauth boys Max and Robert are good friends and I actually like seeing other people’s work as it pushes me to do more. I think I’ve only ever met one photographer who seemed to be offended by other photographers existing which is funny but otherwise there’s too many to list. Out of fetish I really love Dave Lachappele for his quirky depictions of people and the scene he creates. I draw inspiration from all sorts of places, I love to get to galleries as much as I can to be inspired, I also get ideas from stories I read and I actually trained in film making at university so draw a lot of my lighting style is from that training, hence why I prefer dark, epic, shadowy, cinematic imagery like German Expressionism or Tim Burton mixed with some cheekiness and straight lines from the likes of Wes Anderson.

sometimes I just need to get a hood on and stop being social and remember to have some pig fun myself haha. But I do get to have awesome fun with my stud of a boyfriend and get more dom with him and also have a Boss that can snap me out of being social so it all works out well. Mr Rubber, what is the current state of the rubber scene world wide?  I’m really excited right now about the rubber scene, it’s grown so huge in the last ten years and there’s so so many brother clubs of friends of ours

starting up a social community groups like Belgian, Dutch, Barcelona, Swiss, Cologne, Munich, Southwest(UK) & Vancouver rubbermen clubs to name a few that all still quite new and growing, then there’s the Fort Leatherdale and Birmingham and Copenhagen Fetishmen that are mixed but equally doing well. It seems the rubber guys know they can’t just wait for their local bars to start things up so are taking it on themselves to make their community which is awesome, there’s been so many bar crawls happening which then in turn makes bars and clubs want to provide for for the rubber guys giving them places to get naughty too but it’s still owned by the people rather than just businesses which gives people something to be proud of.

How’s Manchester doing? There’s a lot of noise about the Manchester Rubbermen and their weekend? I love Manchester, I moved here in 2005 and it’s been an honour to be part of helping the scene grow and help get it on the map of rubber cities to visit, people seem to like that we just run it from the point of view of a bunch of mates wanting to hold a bit of a family reunion and make sure that even for people running it and volunteering that we don’t take ourselves seriously, that we do it for fun in our spare time and we keep it welcoming and cheeky. I get so excited to see my mates from other countries coming and falling in love with Manchester’s charm and equally I like to see people go away and want to do the same in their own cities and just be the perves they want to see in their own scenes.

A few weeks ago there was a ‘Rubber under your clothing to work day’ or something like that. What is it and did you participate?  I didn’t spot that one, but I mentioned before I only wear rubber underwear and wear rubber every day, life’s too short and I’ve never thought I looked that cool in cotton, but in rubber I feel awesome and confident and more like the real me so I tell anyone to just wear what makes them feel good whatever that is. 8th September Well Folsom Berlin is my first official duty as Mr Leather Europe. Feeling excited, nervous, honoured... I need to find a way to get myself more organised, I’ve got event invites coming in from all over from different people and clubs. Got the ‘Classic meet Fetish’ concert tonight, one of my mates is performing so it will be a nice easy start to the weekend. 9th September Was a well behaved daddy last night, concert was great, went to bed a decent time, today is a long day of photocalls, meets and events. Must keep myself disciplined and not get drunk, got another long day tomorrow. Had a brilliant day- its been fucking roasting today - and been in full formals. Went to the titleholders conference to meet the other Sashzillas and we all spoke about out motivation behind us running for the titles. I got really emotional, I wasnt expecting that. 10th September OMG I got absolutely wrecked. Was woken up by Sister Bang Bang hammering at the door. I told her she could use my appartment as a base of operations and to come round at 10. I got in at 6.30 after being hogtied and carried down the street to ******. I’m still drunk and look like hell. How the fuck am I going to get through today?

We did a photoshoot at the end of the day of all the European title holders, made me really proud, although the best bit for me was watching a tidlewave of piss spill out of one of the photgrahers waders towards an increasingly panicked group of royalty. He he he 11th September Another brilliant night, considering Ive been drinking for two days I feel remarkably fine. Ended up walking home about 4am and sitting outside with a straight familiy drinking beer in my shorts, boots and harness. They were really interested in what I was, they really welcomed me, we took loads of photos and had a laugh, even though I really smelled of sweaty leather. 24th September Had a very interesting day judging the Mr Pup UK contest in Birmingham. I must admit, I didnt really understand the pup culture to any great depth, and today has been very educational for me too. I was impressed by how dedicated and comitted the pups were and how much strength they draw from their community. 29th September The weekend’s going to be challenging as I’m involved in a lot of the organising. I committed to doing quite a bit before I wont the Europe title, so I have to juggle meeting/greeting with running all over Manchester collecting things

23rd Oct Superb evening! Lots of fun. I’ve read comments before about how HoMoto is challenging the stereotypes of gay people in Russia, by wearing leather and riding motorbikes. What is it you like about leather and biking that motivates you to challenge perceptions like this? Mass propaganda created an image of a gay man in people’s minds – someone “miminy-piminy”, mannered, a hyperbolic gay man wearing bright makeup. But a gay on a bike – this is already the ruining of that stereotype. At the same time, motoculture in USSR/Russia is not that old as, for instance, in the USA. And the people who are leading known moto clubs in Russia 15-20 years ago were at the place I am now. But with time they’ve lost things and have forgotten what called them to stand for their rights and freedoms. What challenges and misconceptions did you face in the early days of HoMoto? Do you still encounter them, or have they changed?

The first stage of appearing live or in a press of the club usually meets a simple interest. Some people can’t accept us, some are indifferent, other – support. But always it is a subject. The brightest statements come from homophobes in power, such as Zaldostanov, head of moto club “Night Wolfs”. He states that gays should not ride bikes. Saint-Petersburg MP Milonov repeats after him, saying that only “real men” can be on motorcycles. This rhetoric doesn’t go away and they have their homophobic statements in every suitable interview. What do you do for fun? If we are talking about female part of the club – they prefer outdoor travels, hiking, campings with nights by a bonfire. I prefer more extreme sports at my free time. In winter it is snowboarding, mountain skiing, in summer, beyond the motorcycle – it is bicycle, jumping, trampoline
