General Rules:  All participation must be routed through the participant(s)‟ school. No individual participation will be allowed without concerned school‟s permission.  The participants must be dressed in their respective school uniform.  The participants will be only allowed to stay in the campus within the designated school hours. Nobody will be allowed to stay back after the designated time, and must report to their school.  The organizers can/will record attendance of the participants at various stages. The participants are requested to cooperate with them.  Carrying/using of electronic gadgets will be guided by the discretion of the concerned school. The participants are requested to respect other participants‟ privacy while using any gadget.  The organizers reserve all rights to update, change and/or cancel any of the rules, event prizes and the events. In case of any ambiguity/discrepancy, the interpretation of the rules by the organizers will be final and binding.  The participants are to follow the instructions of the organizers at every stage of participation. Any deviation will be reported to the participant‟s school.  All the rules are subject to revision, the participants are requested to check the final rules and stay updated for any revisions and


theme announcements for particular events on the official website, www.kalrav12.com, and confirm the same from the organizers at specific event sites before participation. All participants are presumed to have read and understood all rules before participation.  Any form of indiscipline, obscenity, plagiarism and profanity will be severely penalized, and may also lead to disqualification of the team/ individual from further participation.  Carrying or/and consumption of any form of alcohol, drugs, etc are banned in the campus.  Organizers of events reserve the right to accept or reject the entries without assigning any reasons. Judging procedures will not be questionable.  In case of any dispute, all decisions by the event organizers will be final and binding on all participants.  A registration fee of Rs.150 per head is applicable in all the below mentioned events.

DDUCMUN (WINTER SESSION) Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. The participants either role-play as diplomats representing a nation in a simulated session of an organ of the United Nations or role-play as an eminent person. During a conference, participants must employ a variety of communication, diplomatic and critical thinking skills in order to represent the policies of their country. These skills include public speaking, group communication, research, policy analysis, active listening, negotiating, conflict resolution, note taking, and technical writing. DDUCMUN Winter Session will be organized by The MUN Club, DDUC, University of Delhi. It will be a two day conference and it will be open to school students and undergraduate college students. The conference in 2012 will consist of the following committees: a) UN Human Rights Council Agenda: Rights of LGBT Community b) AEIP (Association of Eminent Indian Personalities) Agenda: Media Sensationalism. c) UNESCO Agenda: Promotion of Sex Education at School Level. ASSOCIATION OF EMINENT INDIAN PERSONALITIES (AEIP) Agenda: Media Sensationalism. ● This committee does not come under United Nations. ● Basic MUN rules and procedures will be followed. ● This is open to both school students and college students. ● The committee will have a total of 40 personalities. ● These 40 personalities are divided into 10 groups of 4 members each, making it a 4 way delegation committee. ● There will be a school student in each of the 10 groups i.e. there will be a total 10 of school students out of the 40 available seats. ● There will be 3 individual awards and a group award : ● Best Delegate/Personality ● High Commendation ● Best School Student (Same rules as HRC apply) ● Best Group ● The decision of the EB will be final and binding. ● The seat allotment will be made via a subjective delegate application form. ● The decision of the OC will be final and binding.

RULES OF PROCEDURE FOR AEIP 1. Group Regulations: ● The group members have to co-ordinate with each other all the time with respect to the current situation of the agenda. ● Past/Prior events/conflict between personalities should not be taken as a premise to form a debate/oppose a policy. ● The collective decision of the group should be given preference over individual decisions, albeit, the views of the individual won‟t be discouraged and should not be discouraged internally too. ● Any group member should not exercise control whatsoever over any other member when views are expressed. ● Each group must come up with at least some input for the Dominique. 2. Other Important points to be noted: ● Individual Speaker points will be assigned, which in turn will decide the Best Group.. ● The decision of the EB on the same will be final and binding. ● The Press Association does not have veto power or speech rights in the committee. The Press Association is however, free to conduct press conferences in any committee, with consent from the Executive Board. ● Cross questioning is prohibited.

UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL Agenda: Rights of LGBT Community ● This is open to both school students and college students. ● Total no. of seats in the committee = 40 ● 10 out of these 40 seats will be allotted to school students. ● The procedure for allotment of seats will be according to the past MUN experience via delegate application form. ● The decision of the OC will be final and binding. ● Basic MUN Rules and Procedures will be followed. ● There will be 3 awards given out : ● Best Delegate ● High Commendation ● Best School Delegate ● If the either of the two, Best Delegate or High Commendation is a School student then the Best School Delegate award will be replaced by a Special Mention award. ● The decision of the Executive Board will be final and binding.


UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Agenda: Promoting Of Sex Education at School Level ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●

This committee is exclusively for school students. There will be a total of 40 delegates. This committee will be a double delegation committee i.e. 2 delegates representing a country, i.e. 20 teams in total. The delegates will be representing the Education Minister and the Health Minister of their respective countries. Basic MUN rules and procedures will be followed. There will be 3 prizes : Best Delegate High Commendation Best Double Delegation The decision of the EB will be final and binding. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of previous MUN experience and/or previous debating or public speaking experience via delegate application form.

If you think you are persuasive enough to be able to convince anything to the world, then this is for you! “In the modern world of business, it is useless to be a creative, original thinker unless you can also sell what you create,” so too said the father of advertising, and how can anyone disagree (including us)? This event gives a platform to all so-called „eccentrics‟ to express their creativity through advertisements and aims to catch„em young! Here, the participants‟ acting, wit, and creativity converge to form ads which give copywriters a run for their money!

Rules:  

   

The teams should comprise of 5 members at maximum and minimum of 3 members. Only one team per school is allowed. There will be two rounds:  In the first round the teams will have a choice of making an advertisement of their favorite/self chosen brand.  In the second round the brand will be given by the panel of judges and teams will have to make an advertisement on it on the spot. The given brand names will be of common knowledge to the students. Teams will be given 10 minutes for preparing the advertisement for the second round. The advertisement will be broadly rated on the following basis: Creativity,Innovation,Concept ,Dialogues ,Acting ,Presentation ,Humour The advertisement made should not exceed more than 2 minutes. Use of abusive language or indecent comments will lead to immediate disqualification.

Rules:       

Each team will consist of only two members. Eight teams will be chosen to compete for the prize on the basis of a written elimination round. Second round will be Audio-Visual. The questions can be passed on from one team to another. Third round will be buzzer round and the questions cannot be passed on. The marks of two rounds will be clubbed to arrive at the result. In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Rules:       

Teams must comprise of 3 members each. No person may be a member of more than one team. The case will be given on the spot. Teams will be given 45 minutes to carry out the analysis of the case and 10 minutes to present it to a panel of experts. This will be followed by a 5 minute Q&A session during which team members will asked questions by the panel, the contesting teams, as well as the audience. The best two teams will be awarded. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Critical Thinkers (Debate) Attention „Argumentative Indian‟ schoolchildren! Do you have opinion on anything and everything? Are you sick of arguing only with your family members? Then join the chat at KALRAV! Here, ideas flow freely on diverse topics, and polemics rule the roost. Kalrav brings to you a first of its kind debating event extended to school students! It is a non torpid, potent and a strong extension to the traditional generic format of debating that aims to provide school students a bigger platform to experience and exercise their logical ability to debate in a unique event. A debater at school is restricted to debating mainly in interschool events. We endeavor to change the structured pattern and routine and provide students with first hand debating experience in a University of Delhi college, enabling them to be acquainted with experienced and seasoned college level debaters, and having a slice of what a college fest is all about.

Rules: 

     

The tournament will run on the format of 2+1 minute style of debating, with the motions of the debate being given on the day of the event itself. Sufficient time for preparation will be provided. Participants need to come as a team, with one team comprising of three students(two speakers and one interjector), where one will speak FOR the motion and the other will speak AGAINST the motion Participants will be broadly judged on the basis of their content, knowledge, presentation and logical validity of their presented arguments. One interjection per speaker will be allowed. No cross questioning will be allowed. The participants can carry their key points for reference to the podium. Any matter of conflict will be handled by the organizers, and the decision of the organizers will be final. The decision of the judges will be final and binding on all participants.

This painting competition gives the participants a chance to express their creative side and capture it on paper. Be it fine or raw; do show us how you draw!

Rules:        

Only individual entries are allowed. Participants have to bring their own material (colours, brushes, etc). Topic(s) will be given on the spot. Sheets of paper will be provided. The time allotted is 90 minutes. Any colour medium is allowed in the competition. Creativity , expressiveness, interpretation will be the criteria for selection of best entries. In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Format: The maximum number of teams is restricted to 16. A total of 15 matches would be played. The tentative schedule is:    

= 8 matches (between 16 teams) = 4matches = 2 matches = 1 match

The game will be played with 2 teams of 8 (5+ 3) players (5 playing at a time) including 1 goalkeeper. “Flying Substitutions” will apply, implying that players can be substituted when the ball is out of play. There is a registration fee of Rs 100 per head (= Rs 800 per team). 1 referee and 2 linemen will be appointed to preside over all games. There will be an afternoon break for ½ hour between proceedings. The game length will be 2 halves of 11 minutes each with 1 minute resting time in between halves (25 minutes). The total time expected for one match plus beginning of the other is 25 minutes, including 10 minutes as buffer 2 MIN ADDED TIME (EXTRA TIME MAXIMUM). The game will concentrate on dribbles and short passes, hard-power shooting or jostling. It is preferable to keep the ball below waist height only for GOAL. Instead of throw-ins, players will be awarded an indirect kick from the sideline when the ball goes out of play. The concept of yellow and red cards for fouls will be included in the games. In case the game is undecided at the end of the allotted time, the game will go straight to penalties. The decision of the match referee and/or organizers will be final and undisputable. In case a pool of 16 teams cannot be amassed, the schedule of matches, prize money and other details will be altered accordingly. Apart from above mentioned rules, rules of regular football will apply.

The flash of red across the court, the sound of running feet on the hard pavement, the endless advice of that one supporter, the swish of the net on a clean three-pointer. THE GAME OF BASKETBALL has officially begun. It ain‟t for the unfocused. It‟s ain‟t for the fainthearted. It‟s about giving your best shot and making every minute count! Let‟s shoot some hoops, folks!

RULES:      

  

FIBA (International Basketball Federation) rules are applicable. Teams should report to the basketball court half an hour before their match. All the players of the team should have the same color jersey with numbers on it. There will be no jump ball to start the game. Each player will have 3 personal fouls. Players committing more than 3 fouls will be disqualified. During the game, if the defence gains possession of the ball within the two point area either by a steal or rebound, the team must move the ball behind the point arc and then pass the ball before being allowed to take a shoot. Throw in takes place at a point on the side line level with the top of the three point arc. No time outs are allowed at any time (the officials may still stop the game in case of player injury.) Decision of the referee and the OC members is final and binding.

Newb.NET, the LAN Gaming event of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi is here. 3 days of PC/Console gaming with pure unadulterated fun and great prizes up for grabs. This is where the action is. GENERAL RULES:  No person is allowed to play any game without prior registration.  The Registration fees is as follows:  Counter Strike Rs 75/team  Track Mania – Nations Forever Rs 15/person  Only a specified number of rounds will be played per game per day.  Team games require the presence of every member of the team, failing which, a time of 10 minutes will be given to the team to be ready with all players. Otherwise, a walkover will be given.  Dropout by a player/team member will see an additional pause time of 5 minutes to get ready.  Use of personal save files is NOT ALLOWED.  Use of cheats/trainers is NOT ALLOWED.  Keyboard/Gamepad preferences can be changed as per the player‟s wish.  Tweaking any game in any way is NOT ALLOWED.  Any game cannot start without the consent of a manager/volunteer presiding over the event.  Players are not allowed to switch games running on systems without permission from manager/volunteer. NOTE : These rules are subject to modification in the following aspects –  Use of the most recent patch/version release of a game.  Changes to in-game settings and options necessitated by the use of most recent patch version/release.  Cheat Protection Program release and/or cheat protection functions.  Game settings and/or operations guidelines dictated by differences between the following rules and international standards.
