General Rules  The organizers reserve all rights to update, change and/or cancel any of the rules, event prizes and the events. In case of any ambiguity/discrepancy, the interpretation of the rules by the organizers will be final and binding.  All the rules are subject to revision, the participants are requested to check the final rules and stay updated for any revisions and theme announcements for particular events on the official website, www.kalrav12.com, and confirm the same from the organizers at specific event sites before participation. All participants are presumed to have read and understood all rules before participation.  Any form of indiscipline, obscenity, plagiarism and profanity will be severely penalized, and may also lead to disqualification of the team/ individual from further participation.  Carrying or/and consumption of any form of alcohol, drugs, etc are banned in the campus. The organizers reserve the right to deny admission to anyone if he/she is deemed to be intoxicated, even if he/she holds any pass.  Organizers of events reserve the right to accept or reject the entries without assigning any reasons. Judging procedures will not be questionable.  In case of any dispute, all decisions by the event organizers will be final and binding on all participants.  The prizes projected will be awarded by the organizers at the earliest possible. The organizers commit to honor the projected prizes for the winners immediately upon receipt of committed funds from the sponsors. However, the participants are requested to be patient during this process.

Well, here’s your chance to make a claim to THAT fame. KALRAV12 gives you the opportunity to bring the world to your feet. Go through the nerve wracking minute to show your talent and win a fortune for it. # TRUESTORY Format The Competition would consist of two rounds. The 1st round would be judged partially by public vote. The performance in both rounds cannot be identical. A variation of the same talent is permitted. The decision of the judges is final and binding.

RULES:  

The participant must submit a photocopy of his/her identity card at the time of registration. Online registered candidates also have to submit it before the event. The participant has to give the details of his/her performance in writing to the organizers before participation. The organizers reserve the right to disallow any performance if they deem it dangerous. Any performance which deviates from the written description is liable to be stopped. Use of flames, weapons, etc is prohibited. No substitute can be nominated on behalf of the participant to participate in the event at any stage. No instrument, CDs, etc will be provided by DDUC. The participants have to bring their own materials (if required). They will be themselves responsible for the safekeeping of their own material. The participants will be liable for any damage to the property of DDUC.

2. Futsal Take out the jerseys. Put on those studs. Get together that team. Cos, we are BACK! YES. KALRAV 12 proudly presents FUTSAL: The Football Fawesomeness! FORMAT:  The game will be played on a pitch, 35m to 40m in length and 20 metres in breadth. The area would be enclosed by nets. The goal would be 3m x 2m.  The maximum number of teams is restricted to 32. A total of 31 games are expected to be played in the 2 days span, as long as light conditions permit. The tentative schedule is: Day 1:  Knockout Round =16 Matches Day 2:  Round of 16 =8 Matches  Quarter Finals = 4 Matches  Semi Finals = 2 Matches  Final = 1 Match RULES:  The game will be played with 2 teams of 8 (5+ 3) players (5 playing at a time) including 1 goalkeeper. “Flying Substitutions” will apply, implying that players can be substituted when the ball is out of play. 

There is a registration fee of Rs 100 per head (= Rs 800 per team).

1 referee and 2 linemen will be appointed to preside over all games. There will be an afternoon break for ½ hour between proceedings.

The game length will be 2 halves of 11 minutes each with 1 minute resting time in between halves (25 minutes). The total time expected for one match plus beginning of the other is 25 minutes, including 10 minutes as buffer 2 MIN ADDED TIME (EXTRA TIME MAXIMUM).

The game will concentrate on dribbles and short passes, hard-power shooting or jostling. It is preferable to keep the ball below waist height only for GOAL.

Instead of throw-ins, players will be awarded an indirect kick from the sideline when the ball goes out of play.

The concept of yellow and red cards for fouls will be included in the games.

In case the game is undecided at the end of the allotted time, the game will go straight to penalties.

The decision of the match referee and/or organizers will be final and undisputable.

In case a pool of 32 teams cannot be amassed, the schedule of matches, prize money and other details will be altered accordingly.

The teams have to report at the venue 30 minutes before their match.

Apart from above mentioned rules, rules of regular football will apply.

3. Ramp Rage (Western Dance Competition) Pump up the volume and get into the groove. Sync together those steps and make that Move. The dance troupes battle it out. The unbridled passion, the love for dance overwhelms the audience as EACH performance appears to be better than the last. This right here is how competition takes a graceful turn!

RULES:  Cross College Teams are permitted.  A team can have a minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 members.  The duration of the performance should be 6-12 minutes.  Participants are required to carry their own CDs (2 copies in audio format, no DVD or Mp3 allowed).  Teams have to report to the venue 30 minutes before the competition.  The decision of the judges is final and binding, in all unmentioned instances.

4. Hoop it up!(Basketball Competition) The silent anticipation of something huge, the slowing of time, the blow of a whistle and then everything happens at once. The flash of red across the court, the sound of running feet on the hard pavement, the endless advice of that one supporter, the swish of the net on a clean three-pointer. THE GAME OF BASKETBALL has officially begun. It ain’t for the unfocused. It’s ain’t for the fainthearted. It’s about giving your best shot and making every minute count! Let’s shoot some hoops, folks! RULES:  A Registration fee of Rs. 500 per team will be charged.  FIBA (International Basketball Federation) rules are applicable.  Teams should report to the basketball court half an hour before their match.  All the players of the team should have the same color jersey with numbers on it.  There will be no jump ball to start the game.  Each player will have 3 personal fouls. Players committing more than 3 fouls will be disqualified.  During the game, if the defense gains possession of the ball within the two point area either by a steal or rebound, the team must move the ball behind the point arc and then pass the ball before being allowed to take a shoot.  Throw in takes place at a point on the side line level with the top of the three point arc.  No time outs are allowed at any time (the officials may still stop the game in case of player injury.)  Decision of the referee and the OC members is final and binding.

5. Apocalypse- Battle of Bands Enough has been said, the time has come! Gear up for the battle and GO for the kill! Rules and Regulations:         

Cross college bands are permitted. A team can have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 9 members. No participant should be a part of 2 teams. TIME LIMIT-20 MINUTES for each team including setup. Use of pre recorded music will result in disqualification. The performance can be on any film song/album song or own composition in Hindi. o Microphones will be provided for the vocals. Drum kit will be provided. The Decision of the judges would be final and binding. The performance should be either in English or Hindi.

JUDGING WILL BE BASED ON:  Quality of vocals  Choice of songs

 

6. Vibes (Solo Dance) “Dancing is like dreaming with your feet” Like Michael Jackson said, Dance like it’s the last thing you would ever do. Like it’s the ONLY thing you will ever do. Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to shake that leg. Set your body free, feel the nerve wracking sensations of performing on the stage and take your fill by watching the crowd cheering for you. We offer you all this excitement and more. MAKE THAT ONE DANCE COUNT.

Rules and Regulations:     

The duration of the performance should not exceed 4 minutes. Participants are required to carry their own CDs (2 copies in audio format, no DVD or Mp3 allowed). All forms of dance allowed. 7. Malhar (Solo Singing) “SING it from the

heart, SING it till you’re nuts. SING it out for the world that’ll hate your guts. SING it for the world, SING it for the world” One doesn’t have to be a My chemical Romance fan to appreciate the sentiment. Malhar is about belting it out like no one’s listening, Being true to yourself and letting your music speak for you! RULES AND REGULATIONS:      

   

The Preliminary round for this competition would take place on 8 th February. The shortlisted participants will have to go through 2 rounds. The shortlisted participants are required to carry 2 karaoke audio CDs with them; failure to do which would lead to disqualification. Registration closes on 7th February. The participants are required to sing only in the Hindi Language. Judgment would be done purely on the basis of quality of voice. The time limit of Round I is 3 minutes for each performance. In the Final round, the duration of the performance should not exceed 4 minutes. The participants have to report to the venue 30 minutes before the competition. In case of situations which have been not described in rules, decision taken by judges will be final and binding.

8. Street Wars (Street Dance Competition) It’s on the streets, Where the fight gets dirty. The rules are blurred and the music drowns everything. Lock it, Pop It or Break It; Make that one dance count! Rules and Regulations:     

Cross College teams are allowed. A team can consist of minimum 6 members, and maximum of 14 members. The duration of the performance should be 6-14 minutes. Participants must carry their own CDs (2 copies in audio format, no DVD/MP3/USB Drive is allowed). Dancers are not restricted from performing any move, however it shall be their own responsibility to ensure that they do not perform dangerous moves that could injure themselves or others. The dancers will be liable for any damage/injury done to college property/others. In case of situations which have been not elucidated in rules, decision taken by judges/organizers will be final. The participants have to report to the venue 30 minutes before the competition.

9. DDUCMUN (WINTER SESSION) Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. The participants either role-play as diplomats representing a nation in a simulated session of an organ of the United Nations or role-play as an eminent person. During a conference, participants must employ a variety of communication and critical thinking skills in order to represent the policies of their country. These skills include public speaking, group communication, research, policy analysis, active listening, negotiating, conflict resolution, note taking, and technical writing. DDUCMUN Winter Session will be organized by The MUN Club, DDUC, University of Delhi. It will be a two day conference and it will be open to school students and undergraduate college students. The conference in 2012 will consist of the following committees: a) UN Human Rights Council Agenda: Rights of LGBT Community b) AEIP (Association of Eminent Indian Personalities) Agenda: Media Sensationalism. c) UNESCO Agenda: Promotion of Sex Education at School Level.

ASSOCIATION OF EMINENT INDIAN PERSONALITIES (AEIP) Agenda: Media Sensationalism. ● This committee does not come under United Nations. ● Basic MUN rules and procedures will be followed. ● This is open to both school students and college students. ● The committee will have a total of 40 personalities. ● These 40 personalities are divided into 10 groups of 4 members each, making it a 4 way delegation committee. ● There will be a school student in each of the 10 groups i.e. there will be a total 10 of school students out of the 40 available seats. ● There will be 3 individual awards and a group award : a. Best Delegate/Personality b. High Commendation c. Best School Student (Same rules as HRC apply) d. Best Group

RULES OF PROCEDURE FOR AEIP 1. Group Regulations: ● The group members have to co-ordinate with each other all the time with respect to the current situation of the agenda. ● Past/Prior events/conflict between personalities should not be taken as a premise to form a debate/oppose a policy. ● The collective decision of the group should be given preference over individual decisions, albeit, the views of the individual won’t be discouraged and should not be discouraged internally too. ● Any group member should not exercise control whatsoever over any other member when views are expressed. ● Each group must come up with at least some input for the Dominique.

Other Important points to be noted: ● Individual Speaker points will be assigned, which in turn will decide the Best Group.. ● The decision of the EB on the same will be final and binding. ● The IP members are given speech rights and rights to question any individual speaker. (Selective) ● The Press Association has a special advantage to clarify any doubts they have with the views of any group or individual at any point of time. ● This does not imply that The Press Association has veto power. ● Cross questioning is prohibited. UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL Agenda: Rights of LGBT Community ● This is open to both school students and college students. ● Total no. of seats in the committee = 40 ● 10 out of these 40 seats will be allotted to school students. ● The procedure for allotment of seats will be according to the past MUN experience via delegate application form. ● The decision of the OC will be final and binding. ● Basic MUN Rules and Procedures will be followed. ● There will be 3 awards given out : a. Best Delegate b. High Commendation

If the either of the two, Best Delegate or High Commendation is a School student then the Best School Delegate award will be replaced by a Special Mention award. ● The decision of the Executive Board will be final and binding. UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Agenda: Promoting Of Sex Education at School Level ● ● ●

This committee is exclusively for school students. There will be a total of 40 delegates. This committee will be a double delegation committee i.e. 2 delegates representing a country, i.e. 20 teams in total. ● The delegates will be representing the Education Minister and the Health Minister of their respective countries. ● Basic MUN rules and procedures will be followed. ● There will be 3 prizes : a. Best Delegate b. High Commendation c. Best Double Delegation The decision of the EB will be final and binding. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of previous MUN experience and/or previous debating or public speaking experience via delegate application form.

The Time limit of a performance should be 15-25 minutes. Team members should range between 12-18. Teams are required to bring in their own properties. Electronic devices are prohibited. 11. War of DJs Spinning discs, enthralling beats and intoxicating music!! In an event never seen before, professional DJs will battle it out for supremacy at KALRAV’12. The screeches will set the night on fire and the phenomenal music will rock you like a hurricane with no truce in the battle. The best of music, infinite fervor and a rocking dance floor!! The stage is set for a mind-blowing evening of music and dance. RULES: Prelim Rules 

The participants are required to upload their videos/mix tapes on www.YouTube.com with a minimum resolution of 360p OR put it in a disk and submit in person/courier. The last Date for submission is 5 February, 2012.  Send an e-mail to registrations@kalrav12.com with subject “War of DJ’s”. The e-mail should contain the following: ● Name and contact details of the production team. ● Link to the uploaded YouTube video. OR Courier your entry to “The Registration Team, Kalrav 2012, Deen Dayal Upadhaya College, Shivaji Marg, Karampura, Delhi – 110015”  The competition would comprise of 2 rounds.  The 1st round would have a time limit of 10 minutes for each participant.  The timelimit for the final round would be 15 minutes each.

Participants have to mix live on stage and will not be allowed to play mix tapes. Any participant found playing a mix tape will be disqualified from the event. The time limit for each contestant is 20 minutes. Participants are to play within their time limit failure to which will lead to disqualification. Participants are allowed to use the mike. Abusive language will however result in disqualification. Participants may play songs of their choice provided they play the clean version. Participants shall not us any material as part of their act without checking with the management. Decision of the Judges will be final and binding.

Each team can consist of only two members. The Quiz will have 3 rounds, excluding the preliminary round. The preliminary round would be a written elimination round. The complete details of each round will be given on the spot. In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the judges will be final and binding. A registration fee of INR 100/team would be charged.

13. Syncplicity (Documentary Making) Have you got the passion for making films? Do you dream to leave the spectators enthralled? We give you the chance at Kalrav to live your dreams and satisfy your passion. Documentary is a filming practice, a cinematic tradition and a mode of audience reception that is continually evolving and is without clear boundaries. We dare you to dream. Make a documentary and show off your flair to the world. Gear up for what could be your chance to prove your grit and gift to the world. RULES:  The theme for the competition is “Celebrating the elements of life”.  Only one documentary per team is allowed.  The duration of the documentary should not exceed 17 minutes.  In case of any language used other than English / Hindi, subtitles must be provided.  Any type of camera may be used for the purpose of filming. The participants should upload their work on www.YouTube.com with a minimum resolution of 360p or, otherwise the participants can put it in a disk and post it to “Deen Dayal Upadhaya College, University of Delhi Shivaji Marg, Karampura, Delhi – 110015”  The last Date for submission is 5 February, 2012.  The documentary must be original, and must not have won any prize anywhere else. Plagiarism will be severely penalized.  The result will be announced during Kalrav’12.

14. Amazing Rush – Winter Session Ever felt your heart running 10 times the speed of time? Your pulse rate crossing a century and a half? Your nervousness going way beyond your control? Feel like a pirate amidst a sea full of surprises with signs leading you to the treasure. And stay ahead of others to win the treasure! Come and experience a treasure hunt but with a twist! RULES AND REGULATIONS:         

A team should consist of maximum of 4 and minimum of 2 members. Use of mobile phones is prohibited. A member of the Organizing team would accompany each team at all times to ensure fair play. The team members will be allowed access to the campus map for 5 minutes (per team) before the hunt starts. Teams have to find clues hidden all over the college campus in order to reach the hidden treasure. The clues will be inside the college premises only. At the final point every team should have all the clue cards when they reach the final destination. A team found using any unfair means will be disqualified on the spot. A registration fee of Rs 50/person would be charged.

15. Newb.NET (a.k.a. LAN GAMING) FIRE IN THE HOLE! Half the world knows this iconic Counter Strike phrase. And now you get to say it. Upgrade. Tune. Strategize. Newb.NET, the LAN Gaming event of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi is here. 3 days of PC/Console gaming with pure unadulterated fun and great prizes up for grabs. This is where the action is. GENERAL RULES:

  

        

The event is a multi-day event (2 Day LAN Party). No person is allowed to play any game without prior registration. The Registration fees is as follows:  Counter Strike Rs 300/team  Defense of the Ancients Rs 120/team  Need for Speed-most wanted Rs 40/person Only a specified number of rounds will be played per game per day. Team games require the presence of every member of the team, failing which, a time of 10 minutes will be given to the team to be ready with all players. Otherwise, a walkover will be given. Dropout by a player/team member will see an additional pause time of 5 minutes to get ready. Use of personal save files is NOT ALLOWED. Use of cheats/trainers is NOT ALLOWED. Keyboard/Gamepad preferences can be changed as per the player’s wish. Tweaking any game in any way is NOT ALLOWED. Any game cannot start without the consent of a manager/volunteer presiding over the event. Players are not allowed to switch games running on systems without permission from manager/volunteer.

NOTE : These rules are subject to modification in the following aspects –  Use of the most recent patch/version release of a game.  Changes to in-game settings and options necessitated by the use of most recent patch version/release.  Cheat Protection Program release and/or cheat protection functions.  Game settings and/or operations guidelines dictated by differences between the following rules and international standards.

Day 2 – 8 matches (Qualifiers) + 4 matches (Quarter-Finals) + 2 matches (Semi-Finals) + 1 match(Finals) Game Mode : “-cdom no neutral” -> modus bo1 Free slots : Fill up slots with 3 computer/each side. Item Restriction : o 1 Eul’s Scepter of Divinity or 1 Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse per Team o 1 Khadgar’s pipe of Insight per Team o 1 Necronomicon per Team o 1 Refresher Orb per Team o Arcane boots are not allowed You’re allowed to share basic regeneration items, consumables and the Gem of Truesight. If any player gets dropped before 10th minute (and First Blood didn’t happen/no tower were destroyed/no Roshan has been killed) the game must be remade. In other cases, making games depends on arrangement of both teams. Each team has got right to do 2 pauses – 3 minutes each. Pooling is forbidden. Save every 10 minutes, after first blood, after every major battle and after a barracks getting destroyed and on a team’s demand if it is rational (demanding a save after every kill is NOT rational). Blocking creeps is not allowed with spells like Fissure or Sprout when there isn’t any enemy hero nearby. YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO SAVE THE REPLAY, regardless of your team winning or losing. Using disconnect hero is allowed. You are allowed to control the hero or sell/give items to your team-mates. Using any kind of cheats will result in immediate disqualification. Abusing map bugs will result in immediate disqualification. Breaking any rules may lead to disqualification.

The Theme will be given on the spot. Each participant will have to report at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the competition. The total time allotted would be one hour. Conventional Debate

NOT everyone has an opinion. NOT everyone loves to talk. We call out to the radicals, to the opinionated, to the informed- to THE CRITICAL THINKERS. RULES:         

It’s a Traditional, generic form of debating event. The format of 2+1 minute style of debating would be followed. The motions of the debate would be given on the day of the event itself. Sufficient time for preparation will be provided. A team of two is required to register with One student speaking FOR the motion and the other speaking AGAINST it. The participating students must carry their college id cards or an issued permission letter from principal, confirming their identity for the event. Participants will be judged on the basis of their content, knowledge, presentation and logical validity of presented arguments. One interjection per speaker will be allowed. Reading from a paper perennially would be marked down. However, a participant can carry key points for reference to the podium.
