I always had a particular affinity for arts, logical and sequential thinking and so in my pursuit of new creative endeavors four years back I had chosen to study architecture at School of Planning and architecture, Bhopal. Since then I am constantly exploring new methods of creatively solving a question in hand. I am eager to find more such results and in pursuit of that I am to begin a new journey where I can have a real taste of Architecture as it exists outside the walls of our theoretical contentions. PROPOSAL : Living Systems laboratory is going to be the pilot project of a upcoming sustainable tourism township project named Dhun. Dhun aspires to create a 500 acre neighbourhood in suburban Jaipur, that comprises living, working, learning and recreational spaces. It is a new foundation to fully realise what is possible in the realm of living development practices—A neighbourhood built from the inside out, considering the needs of the local ecology, the community, the individual, and finally the sustainability and efficiency of its systems, in that order. It aims to reimagine and redesign systems related to education, workplace, commerce, and recreation in order to build a living environment that provides people with the freedom, inspiration, and resources to discover and develop their own potential.

Living Sytems laboratory named Dhi (meaning source of intelligence) will be the space for multi-disciplinary change-makers to work with access to resources and mentorship. It will serve as an intimate laboratory of interaction and innovation — a space where unusual ideas are conceived, nourished and launched.

The site for living systems laborotory is spread across 6 acres land. There is an existing building standing in that area that is presently a residence of the client. the proposal is to conduct adaptive resuse of the building and covert it into a headquarter for the laborotory.

PHYSICAL MODEL As the design proposal is in mud the physical model for is also made with mud and reclaimed paper to diplay the actual look and feel.

PROPOSAL : Cycles are the future of a sustainable world. With the emergence of a new millennial population and changing paradigms, nonmotorized modes of transportation have become more desirable among members of the younger generation but they still lack to serve everyone's needs as one design cannot be enough. When there were no automobiles, cycles were one of the major modes of transportation and were available and seen often in different forms such as tricycle, bullock carts, carriages and many more depending upon need. But after the emergence of motorised vehicles there was a substantial reduction in the production of cycles which eventually led to only one form becoming the only form that is the bicycle. This proposal aims to exhibit all those forms of cycles that ever existed and are present today. This will help the public to know what suits their needs better and furthermore help in building a cycle friendly nation. This project consists of an enclosed exhibition space that has a radial plan covering an area of 1545m², a large cycling zone for all types of cyclist covering one third of the site area and 300ECS car parking space.




The site lies on the edge of Kaliasot lake having an area of 28660m². It has

a semicircular shape with curvature forming the lake front. Site has a deposit of red soil forming its top layer hence no plantation can be done over it but as it is hard in nature it can be effectively used to build cycling tracks.

The exhibit has a Cyclone like form as it has a radial plan and the roof is a circular ramp made of ferrocement, rising from the ground and taking a height of 16 meters.

A community housing proposition that is scalable, heals when damaged and regenerates faster than before when broken down.

PROPOSAL : Every time disaster hits, we as humans do everything in our power to suppress it, provide aid and rehabilitate. But even the most advanced prevention systems and methods fail. The only way out is to fold how humans grow and work together + towards living with the forces of nature collectively. The core principle of the survival strategy is to inculcate in people a hope for living; where the mind is without fear and the head is held high. Though the structures may be shattered, their hope must not. An approach to rehabilitate faster using a low cost solution achieved through a pre conceived shared system, where in the dwelling units can be built by the locals themselves, so they know how to fix it when it breaks. Calamities induce an unbalanced pressure amongst families and individuals which could lead to physical and mental breakdowns. To avoid such scenarios we propose clustered housing system for Aluva that eliminates isolation, this builds a fondness between people preparing them for any subsequent crisis. They break and build together, “working together in a situation of crisis is the most beautiful gesture humanity exhibits”.

The sections on this page shows the area surrounding the unit. Several barriers have been created to prevent flood directly hitting the house. The design for house has been proposed using tradition along with amphibious architecture building techniques.

Mysa Five Star Hotel

PROPOSAL : Hotel Mysa is a part of a larger project, the Indian International Convention Center, coming up in Dwarka, New Delhi. IICC consists of a convention centre surrounded by many other buildings such as mega exhibition halls and an Arena. To support these infrastructures many offices, four five star hotels and a Metro station have also been proposed within the site area. As part of our 7th-semester curriculum, we were supposed to design one of the four hotels. A hotel building has a dual character built by public and private spaces within it. For an efficient planning, it is crucial to provide certain barriers between both the spaces. Also, as this hotel stands amidst many other buildings having similar scale and high footfall it becomes even more necessary to provide barriers of privacy. In this design, these barriers have been provided in form of gardens at various levels that not only ensure privacy but also act as interactive spaces in between the inside and outside. The planning of the building is such that the public spaces are accommodated on the lower floors and guest rooms above it. The gardens and terraces are provided at north and south corners to have summer and winter outdoor spaces, suiting the climate of Delhi.




The north corner faces the arena and exhibition hall, so the gardens at that corner are planned in a stepped manner to act as barriers and attract people from outside. The south corner faces the three hotels, cantilever sunshades having 2M width have been provided with louvres and plantation to block the view from outside.

Major heat gain takes place through facade as it has the maximum surface exposed to sun. For Northwest and northeast facing facade a folded plate like panel has been designed which has one plate made of double layer Glass facing north and the other has high thermal mass plate facing west and east.

KUCHAMAN FORT, NAGAUR Adaptive Reuse

PROPOSAL:

A 290 year old military fort is being restored and reimagined as an integrated centre for learning, arts & culture. Established in the Kuchaman City of Nagaur district in Rajasthan, the Fort is set on a 1,000 ft. high hillock. The name Kuchaman is derived from the native grass “Kucha” that grows in the region. The Fort as it stands today was constructed in the early 18th century by Zalim Singh, the first Thakur of Kuchaman.

PROPOSAL : People visit coffee houses for various purposes apart from having a cup of coffee. Some come to relax, lean back and enjoy their coffee then there those who are sitting straight doing some work on the laptop and some leaning forward onto the table as they are having an intense conversation. All these people have different postures and when they don't find the right chair for it they either sit in the wrong posture or make the chair adapt to it somehow like by swinging back and forth along with the chair. To satisfy all the customers the furniture should be adaptable to their varying needs and postures. The aim is to design a chair that is flexible enough that not only adapt to people’s varying postures but also allow them to switch to different postures. It should allow them to move back and forth smoothly and perform different activities such as relaxing, eating, reading, talking etc.
