A Message from the Superintendent
I am proud to report we have had a great opening to the 16-17 school year. Although we have a number of new faces in various leadership positions, we are all singularly focused on our mission of educating ALL of the students of Manheim Central School District. I consider it a tremendous blessing to be able to lead this District. Our students, staff, School Board, and community at large all contribute to making this place remarkable. Preparing our next generation of leaders is a monumental task. Yet our aim remains the same: preparing responsible citizens who are lifelong learners. The only constant we face is change. Often times change can be daunting. Yet, if we all work together, we will not only make the District better, our community will profit as well. When students learn, and are meaningfully engaged, we all win. I look forward to even greater things to come. Yours in Education, Peter J. Aiken
Greetings from the Assistant to the Superintendent
Welcome to a brand new school year! It is an honor and a privilege to send you greetings as the Assistant to the Superintendent for the Manheim Central School District. The district has been my home as a professional for the past 7.5 years, serving in the capacity as the Director of Special Education and the Direc tor of Student Services. Not only has the district been my home profes sionally but I am proud to say that I am also a resident of Baron Country. The Manheim Central School District is truly unique, where school spirit is abundant amongst the students, parents, staff, and throughout the community. It is this same spirit and drive we want to build upon to make the Manheim Central School District a leader in the 21st Century. As I think about the task of our district mission, “Preparing Responsible Citizens, who are Lifelong Learners”, there is no doubt this comes with challenges. The world is moving at a rapid pace and as an educational system, it can be a daunting task to keep up with this pace. That is why we cannot do this alone but need to work in collaboration to teach the skills our students will need to meet the mission of the school district. W.B. Yeats stated, “Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting
of a fire.” As we look to the future of educating our students, we want to en sure we are lighting the fire within our students to learn. As a district, it is im perative we work together to assist our students in maximizing their potential to ensure they build the skills necessary to be lifelong learners. We need the partnership of the community, families and the school to ensure the success of our students. I look forward to continu ing that partnership and building new relationships to enhance the education of our students. I welcome con versation; please do not hesitate to reach out at any time. Proud to be a Baron! Sue Ann Senter Assistant to the Superintendent Manheim Central School District
