MOSTEDUCATED STATEININDIA

India is a country with a large population and many different cultures. This makes it difficult to determine the literacy rate of the nation, but it is estimated that approximately 60% of India's population can read and write. The literacy rate for women is higher than for men, at 68% compared to 59%. The lowest literacy rates are found in rural areas and among tribal groups, where less than 25% of people are literate.
Literacy refers not just to having learned how to read and write but also includes an understanding of concepts such as arithmetic, science, history, geography etc...
India is one of the most literate countries in the world. However, there are still some states which have a literacy rate of less than 50%. These states include Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh.
Bihar has a literacy rate of 47.20%, which is the lowest among all states in India. It ranks at the bottom with four other states - Uttar Pradesh (47.60%), Jharkhand (48.40%), Madhya Pradesh (48.60%) and Chhattisgarh (49.70%).
Uttar Pradesh is another state which comes under this category with a literacy rate of 47.60%. It ranks at number two after Bihar and Chhattisgarh with Jharkhand being at number three with 48% literacy rate and Madhya Pradesh being at fourth position with 49% literacy rate.
Jharkhand has a literacy rate of 48% compared to 48% for Chhattisgarh and 49% for Madhya Pradesh; however, it ranks below Uttar Pradesh because its population is much smaller than other states like Uttrakhand
In India, there are some states where literacy rates are very high. The most literate state is Tamil Nadu, with a literacy rate of 99%. It's followed by Kerala, which has an overall literacy rate of 98%. Andhra Pradesh is third on this list, with a 97% literacy rate.
