TITLE The Rookery PROJECT TYPE Workplace LOCATION Chicago, IL

INTERIOR RENDERINGS The Rookery, current location of the tvsdesign Chicago office, is continuously undergoing improvements and modernizations. Most recently, the workplace studio remodeled the building’s elevator cabs and restroom facilities, and designed a new bike room with showers and lockers. These commissioned marketing materials show how contemporary workplace interiors could be accommodated in the historic building. FLOOR PLAN (Right)

TITLE Levy Restaurants PROJECT TYPE Workplace LOCATION Chicago, IL

INTERIOR RENDERINGS The offices of Levy Restaurants offer their administrative employees the comfort and ambiance of the very businesses they manage. Every corner of their full floor space has a function or serves as an employee amenity: they can read by the fire in the reception, play video games in the corner lounge, or share a drink in the elevator lobby. The furniture, finishes, and custom wall graphics help create this experience within the workplace. Opposite Page:

TITLE Kellen Chicago PROJECT TYPE Workplace LOCATION Oakbrook Terrace, IL

INTERIORS The unique architectural form of the existing building that houses the offices of Kellen Chicago allowed for the design of a highly collaborative and communal interior. Each wing of the full floor office has its own individual character, distinguishable by the type of furniture and finishes at their respective informal meeting areas. The project will require collaboration between multiple design and engineering disciplines for its success. Opposite Page:

TITLE Green River PROJECT TYPE Restaurant LOCATION Chicago, IL

OUTDOOR TERRACE Located on the 18th floor of a Northwestern Memorial Hospital building in Streeterville, the Green River restaurant and Annex bar bring high-end dining (and drinking) to new heights. With east-facing views of Lake Michigan and an outdoor terrace, the space celebrates its surroundings as it does its interiors. The close collaboration of architecture and interior design studios at tvsdesign made this project possible. Opposite Page:

ELEVATIONS The project for the FLATS Chicago HQ corporate office by Moss Design, consists of an addition to one of their existing apartment buildings. The sustainable new structure is intended to contrast with its setting, and this is achieved through material selection, window placement, low-sloping roofs at different elevations, and an extensive green roof.

TITLE FLATS Chicago, Interior Renderings PROJECT TYPE Multi-Unit Residential LOCATION Various Locations

INTERIOR RENDERINGS Moss Design worked on various multiunit residential projects with the FLATS Chicago team. Throughout our collaboration, I was responsible for the production of realistic interior renderings for marketing purposes. All renderings were created using Revit, and Photoshop.

TITLE Green Exchange Visitor Center PROJECT TYPE Visitor Information Center LOCATION Chicago, IL

INTERIOR VIEW The Green Exchange Visitor Center is an educational environment with interactive displays and installations, as well as a marketing showroom, including administrative offices for the Green Exchange building. The building is located in the Bucktown neighborhood, where it intends to educate the public on sustainability, and to provide access to eco-friendly products and alternative systems. TITLE Public Library + Short-Term Housing PROJECT TYPE Multi-Residential Complex and Public Library LOCATION Chicago, IL

SITE PLAN Located on the busy intersection of Grand Ave and Milwaukee Ave, the project for a Public Library and Short-Term Housing reintroduces the concept of “community” to a mixed-use neighborhood whose identity is mostly defined by billboard ads and store marquees. The users as well as the public have access to a lowered interior courtyard with a view of the underground “Grand” Blue Line train station. CONCEPT MODEL The formal concept for the project begins with the idea of creating shadowplay in the interior courtyard, as made possible by the volumetric gradation and spatial hierarchy of the building. TITLE Uchronic Architecture: The Real and the Unbuilt PROJECT TYPE Dwelling Unit LOCATION Unbuilt

UCHRONIC ARCHITECTURE Uchronic doesn’t exclusively refer to fictional architecture, it includes unbuilt architecture that exists outside of our linear chronology. A uchronic project is of equal (if not greater) value than a project based on the present; for it can be argued that this value can be found in its design process, more so than in its origin or even its results. CONCEPT ILLUSTRATIONS The project is set in a uchronic society where wireless interconnection has become the norm, making urban and suburban life as we know it obsolete. The city has been decentralized, and transportation, travel and commuting have become futile, leaving the entire transportation infrastructure empty. Unused vehicles have become the construction materials for new, adaptable and relocatable dwelling units.
