Manchester – where great minds meet Welcome to the 2018 edition of the Manchester Conference & Exhibition Guide – the definitive guide to business tourism across Greater Manchester. First in March 2019, the inaugural World Healthcare Congress Europe will bring together representatives from all sectors of health care including hospitals, health systems, pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech companies and leading government agencies. Then in June 2019 the 58th Annual Conference of the Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group will bring 1,000 leading clinicians, physicists and other practitioners in particle therapy to Manchester for an event worth £2.5m to the local economy.

Manchester is the city where great minds meet, a concept that’s backed up by an academic ecosystem which continues to invest actively in the city. Developments on the horizon such as the University of Manchester’s Engineering Campus Development, the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre, CityLabs 2.0 and the Henry Royce institute will ensure the city continues to be a world leader in advanced materials and life science research. Ongoing developments such as these are a huge asset to the city’s conference offer, boosting our work to entice high-profile, international conferences in key target sectors. We’re looking forward to two such events in the life science sectors coming to the city in 2019.

In December 2017 we welcomed the Children’s Global Media Summit to Manchester Central. Over 1,500 delegates from around the globe came to Manchester in recognition of the huge contributions made to children’s media in Greater Manchester thanks to institutions such as CBBC and CBeebies, and studios like Mackinnon & Saunders and Cosgrove Hall.
