Manassas Park Teen Passport Welcome to the Teen Passport specifically for teens in 6 th -12 th grades! The Teen Passport membership is $20.00 per month. Teens can earn points toward their Teen Passport each month with good grades, community service, and by volunteering. When a teen earns 20 points, their next month is FREE!

Passport Includes: Access to the gym, pool, recreational programs, instructional classes, and more! Plus take advantage of the Teen Center, featuring computers, a TV, PS4, Xbox, foosball, ping-pong table, and pool table! No Passport? No Problem! We want every teen to be able to take advantage of all of our programs! Non-members may enroll in any class individually by paying the $2.00 drop-in rate.

Teen ID Policy: Teens between ages 12-15, including those without memberships, will need to be issued a Community Center Teen ID in order to access the facility without a parent or guardian. Teens will be required to leave their ID at the front desk when they enter the building and retrieve it when they exit the building. Teens who do not retrieve their ID when exiting the building must pay a $5.00 drop-in on their next visit.

Get Up and Move

Circuit Workout Looking to get a full body workout after school? Try our new and improved Circuit Workout! Whether you’re interested in challenging exercises or light cardio, we’ll provide you with tips to help you push yourself.

Drop-in Basketball Every Friday after school, the Community Center courts are the place to be! The gym is reserved just for you to hoop with your friends. Grab your buddies, a basketball, and meet us on the court!

Drop-in Soccer Come over to the Community Center after school and enjoy a few games of soccer! Our indoor and outdoor spaces make it easy to play with any weather. P.E. Games Can’t get enough of P.E. games in school? Each Thursday, we’ll get together and play some of your favorites like dodgeball, badminton, flag football, and more.

Pickleball When you mix tennis with badminton, you get Pickleball. This is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and we have it right here at the Community Center. Once you play, you’ll be hooked!

Badges for Baseball The Cal Ripken Foundation, in partnership with the U.s. Department of Justice, created Badges for Baseball- a program that pairs law enforcement professionals as mentors with youth from communitybased organizations.

Homework Help Need a little extra help with homework? Our recreation leaders are here to help you succeed in school. Bring your questions to us, and we will work together to help you understand your homework or prepare for a test.

Kitchen Creativity with Ms. Gina Bring an appetite to this class! Participants will learn how to meaure, prepare, and make healthy and delicious meals in this culinary exploration class. 3/12, 4/16, 5/14.

Movie Mondays Every Monday, the Teen Center turns into a mini movie theater. Grab a spot on the couch with some candy or popcorn and enjoy a great film. We may watch anything from Disney classics, to motivational movies, to some of the newest releases. All films are rated G - PG-13.

Video Game Tournament Do you think you’re the best at Fortnite, Madden, NBA 2K, FIFA, or any other video games? Come put your skills to the test against other teens, and staff, in weekly tournaments in the Teen Center. Prizes will be awarded to the winner.

Learn Something New

Career Launch Are you thinking about getting a summer job? If so, this is the perfect time for you to work with Teen Staff! They will help you create a resume, cover letters, and teach you some of the basics of interviewing to help you feel prepared for future employment.

Garden to Table We have a teen created and sustained garden at the Community Center! We will plant lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and more. Our group meets once a week to plant, water, harvest, and discuss plans for the garden. You will be able to take the vegetables home or use them in a recipe in our cooking class at the Community Center

Hairstyle How-To Learn how to do basic hairstyles like ponytails, buns, pigtails, braids, and more! Using individual combs and accessories, you can practice on mannequins and then style your own hair. Songwriting In this class, students will learn about different writing techniques and will experience group collaborations to help build confidence. We’ll share our music in a safe and constructive environment.

Volunteer Club Do you love your Community and want to give back, or need community service hours for school? We invite you to join us on Tuesdays for new, safe, and exciting volunteer opprtunities around the Community Center.

GENERAL

◊MP3◊ MP3 (Manassas Park 3 o’clock Club) is a non-licensed program operated by the City of Manassas Park, Department of Parks and Recreation. The program is lightly supervised for your teen to have a safe and fun place to be after school. The program emphasizes recreation with creative programs and materials that encourage and invite participation. Recreation Leaders guide students in activities that allow the participants to learn. Teens will choose and participate in group activities that are fun, safe, and challenging. MP3 is developed for teens in grades 6-8. MP3 is hosted Monday-Friday during the school year from 2:45pm-7:00pm. Transportation is provided from Manassas Park Middle School to the Community Center. MP3 does not meet on holidays or teacher workdays. Must pre-register.

◊Naginata◊ (Ages 14+) Naginata is an ancient Japanese weapon used by Samurai men and women. Sensei Djinn teaches the martial art form of Atarashii Naginata. All experience levels are welcome and loaner equipment is available. A one-time registration fee of $60 is required. $30/month DAY TIME DATE Su 12:00pm-2:00pm Ongoing F 7:00pm-9:00pm Ongoing

◊Math Tutoring◊ (Ages 12+) Middle and high school students can receive help on assignments, corrections, or test preparation for a variety of subjects such as algebra, geometry, calculus, and more. DAY TIME DATE Sa 10:00am-12:00pm 3/7-5/30

◊WCRB Teen Mixed Martial Arts◊ (Ages 13-17) WCRB’s Teen MMA Class is for students with or without prior training. With emphasis on courtesy, discipline and respect. Students will learn a mixture of several different art forms. The TMMA program is combined with our academic excellence program for maximization of your child’s learning experience. This is a belt class from white to black with testing two to four times a year. $50/Month for one class a week; $80/ Month for two classes a week; $100/ Month for three or more classes a week. Teen Beginner Swim Lessons (Ages 12-17) Never had formal swim lessons? Not comfortable in the water? Why not have fun learning with a group of your peers? Knowing how to swim effectively and efficiently is an important life safety skill.
