The challenge is to make awareness of riding the bicycle by providing an platform where the bicycle can be made available to the user on rent. He can ride it anywhere at any point of time by picking it from one location and dropping to another.

5 Requirements:

• To locate bicycle stands / booths • To reserve bicycle to customer • To pick-up bicycle from stand / booth • To return bicycle to the stand (to confirm the payment) • For system – keep track of the bicycle (for security purpose)

• Bicycle sharing program is not a new concept and have been adapted earlier in some parts on northern India.

• But there were some loop holes due to which it couldn't survive in the market and resulted in the downfall of the system.

Some observation as per expert studies which did not match user expectation.

• No proper system to track the bicycle as theft being a major issue in India.

• Improper maintenance of tracking devices such as RFID tags, inbuilt trackers etc.

• System needs not meeting the demand and thus resulting in shortage of the bicycle.

I would like to have a bike with me for travelling purpose, but I can’t afford it. I don’t need to travel for long distances.

I am a fine artist. I came to Mumbai before 3 months to explore the beauty of the city. I have found the expenses for travelling in Mumbai are so much as compared to distance. I need to spend a lot of money for travelling only. I love bicycling, but buying a bicycle is very expensive for me as I am a tourist. For finding places I use google maps but then also some of the places in Mumbai are like that where google maps also not be able to help me out. I am very much technology oriented person. I have lot many gadgets which I use for my everyday life.

SCENARIO

One day in the afternoon, there was a very important meeting in an architect’s office near to CST. Many of the foreigners was there for discussing about the planning of slum areas in Mumbai. There was an architect who is the head that meeting and needs to show the drawings with presentation to the clients.

In the morning he sent all the printouts in his relative’s printing press which is at Byculla.

A guy went to get those prints before 12 o clock i.e. meeting time. But as we all know there is most traffic within that time period. So the worker was so stressed about how to get those prints before meeting.

Suddenly he got an idea of hiring a bicycle, and he downloaded the app. There was a bicycle station nearby Byculla-CST road. He picked up a bicycle and went to the printing press. He got the prints and then with the same bicycle he went from small- small lanes to the meeting hall. As he was on the way to climbing up stairs to the meeting, he paid the expenses of bicycle. He is so happy for having this kind of system in Mumbai for this kind of emergency purposes.

Customer takes the bicycle by scanning QR code and paying the deposit.

As he get’s register for the bicycle, the GPS tracker will get ON. System can see the bicycle and track its location.

Customer stops at a point.

Something happened with the bicycle (Any damage).

Customer reports the problem.

Customer will lock the cycle.

As he reports the problem the cycle will be hidden from the customer’s MAP System gets the notification of the damaged bicycle.

System will share the location to the maintenance system.

Maintenance workers can locate the bicycle and pick it up for repairing.

12. User can spot a bicycle nearby location and customer can see the distance and time ratio.

13. For reservation, system will give extra 15 min to reach to the cycle and book it. After 15 min the cycle will be again located in the customer’s map.

14. After payment, system will generate two random codes for LOCK and UNLOCK respectively. User can lock and unlock the bicycle by confirming that the journey is finished or not.

15. After reporting problem, the bicycle is removed from customer’s searched map. So system can detect the damaged bicycles for repairing.
