Universal Call to Holiness
Church Teaching: "To be holy does not require being a bishop, a priest or a religious. We are frequently tempted to think that holiness is only for those who can withdraw from ordinary affairs to spend much time in prayer That is not the case." (Gaudete et Exsultate, 14)
Living it Out: Embrace the understanding that holiness is attainable for everyone, regardless of their circumstances Cultivate a personal relationship with God through prayer, sacraments, and a life rooted in faith.
Holiness in Daily Life
Church Teaching: When Saint John Bosco taught him that holiness involves being constantly joyful, he opened his heart to a contagious joy. (Christus Vivit, 56)
Living it Out: Seek holiness in everyday actions, such as showing kindness to others, being patient in challenging situations, and living with integrity and honesty in all aspects of life.
Prayer and Contemplation
Church Teaching: "I do not believe in holiness without prayer" (Gaudete et Exsultate, 147)
Living it Out: Dedicate time daily to prayer, meditation, and contemplation Use modern resources like meditation apps or online spiritual communities to deepen your prayer life
Holiness in Daily Life
Church Teaching: The word “happy” or “blessed” thus becomes a synonym for “holy”. It expresses the fact that those faithful to God and his word, by their self-giving, gain true happiness. (Gaudete et Exsultate, 64); "Don’t confuse happiness with an armchair, or live your life behind a screen" (Christus Vivit, 143)
Living it Out: Find joy and hope in living out your faith authentically. Engage in meaningful relationships, spend time in nature, and disconnect from digital distractions to experience genuine joy and fulfillment.
Being Witnesses of Christ
Church Teaching: "Holiness is the most attractive face of the Church." (Gaudete et Exsultate, 9)
