Another very successful Darfield Christmas in the Park was held at Westview Park in Darfield on Sunday, December 8th with a very good attendance from the community for a happy and relaxed event. The stage entertainment was well received with a large audience settled on the grass enjoying the music. The bouncy castles, fairy face painting, Pedalmania and the balloon man were kept busy all afternoon, as was Father Christmas who received lots of Christmas wishes. Continued on page 3…
Christmas is an exciting time of year for the littlies and once again there’s the Darfield streets’ lolly scramble to look forward to. The scramble will be undertaken by Darfield Fire Brigade, so youngsters should not only keep an eye out for the red urban fire truck, but also the yellow rural one on the streets. Both will dispense sweets! Lolly scramble organisers advise that the event will take place on December 22nd (Sunday) and if it’s wet they’ll
postpone it until Monday 23rd. Keep an eye on the Darfield Fire Brigade Facebook page for further details or if postponing. They also stress the importance of being safe while crossing the roads when waiting for the engines. A car accident at Christmas doesn’t bear thinking about! As part of the lolly scramble the Brigade are initiating ‘A Can for Lollies’ - the ‘Can Drive’ will boost the supplies of the Two Rivers Community Trust Foodbank, which comes under
