Reported by all as an amazing community event, well planned and organised, the inaugural Matariki in Malvern, proudly hosted by Two Rivers Community Trust, took place last Saturday (16th) in

Darfield. Selwyn Mayor, Sam Broughton noted in his welcome speech that this was the very first event of its kind in Malvern. Over five hundred people from across Malvern came to

celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year, providing a fabulous opportunity for whanau and friends to spend time together. Two Rivers Community Trust’s mission statement: “A resilient community where people

belong, contribute and flourish”, was well and truly evident during the evening, with many commenting on being proud of living here in Malvern.
