FROM THE PRESIDENT In spite of the rain that set in for the main parade, 118th Malvern A & P Show president, Jane Jenkins warmly welcomed everyone present. She thanked those that attended either as spectators or exhibitors and commented that without their support there would be no Show, “T o the exhibitors and competitors in all twenty five sections of the Show I sincerely thank you for your passion toward the same cause as mine,” Jane commented. “A & P shows are in good heart due to your support and camaraderie,” she added. Jane went on to welcome Selwyn MP Amy Adams and Selwyn Mayor Sam Broughton to the Show, as well as making special mention of past presidents and patrons. “In the last couple of weeks I have been involved in two days of additional judging of stock on farm, in conjunction with the Courtenay A & P Show,” Jane said. “This was the replacement two tooth ewe competition and it

was won by Coleridge Downs at Rakaia Gorge, while the handicap section went to, Annavale Station, Springfield. Also of mention is the replacement dairy heifer competition which was won by Alistair and Sharon Rayne of Darfield (Owners) and Sheldon Reed, Reed of Darfield (Grazier). We travelled around our region and it was fantastic to see stock that would have been a credit to any farmer throughout N ew Zealand.” Jane congratulated all those who supported and entered those competitions, before going on to thank the Judges and Stewards for their time and knowledge. She thanked the much appreciated sponsors of the Show and commented that without their support it would be difficult to present a successful event such as this. “Finally to my amazing committee, I thank you for all your tireless work and for your enthusiasm - especially Show secretary Rebecca Stewart. Stewart I also thank Chris and Rachel
