The 2016 Show President, Raymond Williams hails from a family with a long history of involvement in the Courtenay A & P Association. “My family’s involvement goes back to before 1896 when my great grandfather George Bedford was President. I am the fourth generation president after my parents Hugh, Hugh (1984), Helen (2005) and grandfather G. Raymond Bedford (1933),” Raymond said. “I was raised on a sheep/beef farm near Kirwee, before it became a cropping farm when irrigation was added in 1979. I spent nine years away from the area and nearly four of those were spent overseas in the USA, Europe and South Africa. Another five and a half years were spent working in Southland.
