WEST MELTON BOWLING CLUB
With the end of the season rapidly approaching there was a flurry of activity on the West Melton Bowling Green, with trophies to be won and some finals of the Club Championships to be decided.
Club Championship winners included Bob Burnett, winner of the Men’s Open Championship Singles, Jude Morgan, winner of the Women’s Open Championship Singles, and the Women’s Championship Fours winners were Jo Paekau, Karen Feathery, Jude Morgan and Gretta Leigh. Congratulations to all of these players.

The Mixed Pairs competition were playing for the Allison and Peter Pearce Trophy, and the winners were Jude Morgan and Andy Weber
The Husband and Wife Pairs competition for the Quinton Trophy, was won by Bob Shorter and Ali Gardiner
Closing Day was held on Saturday, April 1st. The competition format for the afternoon was Mixed Triples, with teams competing for the Arthur and Irene Pearce
Trophy. The winners were Phil Townsend, Alan Fyfe and Andy Weber . Other notable awards went to John Growcott for the Men’s Most Improved Player, Tracy Liddicoat for the Women’s Most Improved Player, and the Sportsmanship award went to Peter Bickley
Another great season of Social Bowls was held and The Crackerjacks (Sean Archer , Mike Bickley, John Wilkinson, Reon Goodwillie, Brad Petrowski and
Owen Davis ) went through undefeated and with the highest number of points to win the competition. Many thanks to the local community for their continued support for Social Bowls and also to our sponsors Two Fat Possums.
